- Czardas by Vittorio Monti
I mostly stayed away from the more acrobatic repertoire, not really my strongest playing ability. I'm more a slow music guy but when I recently received this play along version of this virtuous evergreen, I thought let’s take up this challenge.
It’s just a tiny bit slower than the versions we know of by some of the virtuous tenor hotshots making it just playable for this 65 years old rusty warrior:-))
I hope you will enjoy this attempt:-))
The music is available by:

Top playing by a true artist bravo.
Bravissimo Maestro Ben! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I love the way you play this. I must learn it. I am 79 and still going strong. Thank God.
정말 멋진 연주입니다!
잘 듣고 잘 배웠습니다~ 👍
Love this! Would love to find the sheet music for this arrangement, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any help?
Nice music my dear friend,
I enjoyed Ben, Thumbs up....!!!! 🎻🎹👍
Bravo, one of the best versions I heard for trombone, very clear articulated all quick notes, which is even harder in lower notes. Besides that, your ability to play so soft the slower part of the song, made it even more enjoyable! Bravo 👏🏼
Bravo! Maybe "a tiny bit slower" than the tenors, but isn't it much more challenging to play that fast in the lower range? I'm just an amateur, so maybe I'm wrong, but keeping the embouchure stable when playing fast in the lower range is one of my personal challenges: The slide needs to move longer distances between most tones and the more the slide is pulled out, the higher are the leverage forces on the mouthpiece. This impacts my embouchure. In addition, also keeping the tongue fast when playing low is a major challenge for me, it's much easier in the higher range. It would be interesting to see how fast the "young virtuous tenors" would be able to play this in the lower range, just to see if my personal impression on this aspect of trombone playing is true or not.
Anyway, I'm 20 years younger than Ben and I would love to be just close to "that rusty" playing on my bass trombone. Playing so fast while keeping this outstanding warm tone - not just executing but making music out of each note! - this can only be Ben. And it's not his fabulous and beautiful trombone, I tried this Thein model a couple of years ago, it's too heavy and too hard to play for me. It confirmed my lightweight Lätzsch will be my last bass trombone I ever need to play, there is nothing better (for me) 😎☺
Una ejecución magistral
Bravo! Just outstanding! :)
Fantastic! Fantastico!
Grande Maestro, Bravooooo
A pleasure as always maestro! Thanks!
Bravo! Great!!!!
So clean!! Really inspiring, thanks!
Where is the rust? I still hear a still bright shining brass!
I prefer artful play in stead of an artistic one.
Good health and strength for many ongoing years.
Well I'm full after that complete and satisfying meal - Delicious!
Thank you!
You’re amazing!
Bravo Ben.... !
Mijn broertje peter veenhuizen speelde dit herhaaldelijk in zijn kamer ,mijn slaap werd vaak kortgemaakt !!
Thank you for inspiring me to keep playing the bass trombone and to always strive for better!! What was the hand grip that is on your instrument? It looks like it helps a lot on holding the weight.
It’s a Thein hand grip. Like $400 so def not cheap. Use the Sheridan Brass Get-A-Grip. Best in the business for the price
Fat tone.💯 Also being playing trombone for 50 years.started when i was 12
