When it comes to summertime bass fishing, you really have to divide the summer into three main phases. Early summer, mid summer and late summer.
During each one of these phases, the bass are typically doing something a little bit different so it is important to select the right lure that is going to fit the situation.
It seems that during early summer that the bass can be aggressive and will hit baits like crankbaits, swimbaits, and topwater really well. These are my favorite lures for early summertime bass fishing.
During mid summer, I will to to use a big worm and a jig every slowly to entice non active bass to strike. I will also you a large flutter spoon at this time to get suspended bass to bite.
During late summer I typically go with finesse and power fishing techniques like a drop shot, small swimbait and a frog!
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass. - Спорт
Started fishing this year. My sons wanted to start, and hang out together. Can’t tell you how awesome. You sure are helpful. Thanks. 🙂
One of the best decisions you could ever make haha
Just found your channel and I love watching your videos. I’m a true bass fishing lady and have been bass fishing since my dad took me the very first time. I’m now 61 and just last year caught my biggest bad that weighed in at 9.6 lbs and still waiting on a bigger one. You remind me so much of my dad in his early years. His has now passed away and I know he would love all the new stuff that is out now because he loved to experiment on new baits and reels. I’m still trying to get the hang of a bait caster but all else fails I go back to my open face. Would love to see you do a video on how to operate a bait caster. Thanks for all the great content haven’t watched them all yet but really enjoy on watching you.
Wow Debbie great for you on that 9 pounder . Thank you for your comment . I was pretty happy to read it . Your dad story. Thanks for that too!!!
Good description of bass behavioral conditions @ 6:10

Great video; well done sir
Awesome video! Sound was a bit quiet but altogether great content. I fished behind meijers tonight, I hit the small ponds at the dog park and then walked back gravel road to the bigger pond. Caught a dinker on a Texas rigged rage tail but for me at my level a dinker is great. Will definitely be going back to the bigger pond. Thanks again!

Great video
Good tips bra
Yeah great we’ll explained and we’ll understood . Great video for me because I was pretty much that same kinda set up for the summer , but not no more thank you for being honest!!!!
Some good information. As a bank angler I can probably only perform 1/4 of these tips. I’ll try em out and hopefully be successful. Only have all these pressured public ponds to fish but I find it real hard to find em but I’ll play the game hard and forsure smack em some how. Thanks buddy. 🤙
This time of year your best bet is really early- if you're in the south anyway- can't speak to fishing up north. Try early morning, and I mean crack of dawn- and fish the shallow water that's the closest to deep water. Now those terms- "shallow" or "deep" of course are relative to where you fish- but find the deepest point in the body f water you're fishing- now look for shallow, hard bottom close by. I don't know what your level of proficiency is but top waters work really well in these conditions- early morning. If the water is really still and calm you might want to try something like a Sammy- something a bit more subtle that won't over power the fish. A popper is my favorite because I can pop it in place and stay in the strike zone or I can walk it like a plug- whatever they want. If they're more aggressive than that and wnats something really moving then a whopper plopper or buzz bait might be the ticket. If you're bank fishing and you don't find them you can always just start walking with a buzz bait, throw it at every single lay down, stick, leave, pad, whatever out to say 5-6 feet depth- throwing mostly parallel to the bank, maybe at a slight angle out toward the deeper water. Take a senko as a back up bait, if they blow up but don't get it- toss that senko in right where they blew up. You'll get'em man.
@@stoneysdead689 thanks for the tips.

I'd give that reel to my son. All he has is spinning rods so far.

Great video Thanks Teaching my 14 year old grandson to fish...Just bought him his first tackle box...Thanks for the info
Thanks for watching Jeff. I appreciate it
Nice reel for sure
Good info enjoy watching
props the 216
Never had a bait caster always wanted one never really had time or money to get one
They're nice to use once you get used to them...
I hooked a buddy up with an abu blackmax combo last week so he could try out a baitcaster..
He texted me yesterday to tell me he has officially switched to the dark side and is already looking to get another baitcaster
Baitcasters are so worth it, they are annoying to learn, but once you get used to them you wont want to use anything else.
You should get one they are awsome man I know Walmart released their own through Ozark trail it'll cost you $30 but it'll be good to learn with or you can get an Abu Garcia combo I think they are under $100. I started out with a used billy dance quantum bait caster I learned it and I bought a Lew's Mach 2
When you got like 60-80 get a black max it’s good for beginners I’m gonna make a video so check it out
My hubby would love that reel.🙏
Entered. Would love that reel 😉😉
I’m a tackle junky, I own rods and reels from 10+ different companies. Haven’t got my hands on an okuma yet, I’d love one. Good vid! Great info
That’s awesome dude. You own more brands then myself. Maybe you will win your first okuma!
Wow that is a beautiful bait caster. Honestly I work at a bait and tackle, I have seen a lot of Okuma reels, but I did not know they got that nice
Wow 😮 love the videos man.
That hat is fire 🔥
I have 2 a spinning reel and a baitcaster, both are broke they just don't stand up like a shimono
@@kennethwood713 good to know. I am a shimano guy, curado dc and slx dc.
Lake Fork Tackle Baby Boot Tail Shad in magic shad, on a custom weedless ³/¹⁶oz head and 6lb line works throughout summer, especially for lethargic or suspended bass. It's great for spots, schoolers, and tailrace shad eaters. It's the ULTIMATE finesse swimbait!
Need that Reel!!! BIG FAN
Thanks Chester! Maybe you will win!
Sean Clark. Appreciate the tips!
No dought you are on track . Wish some of you guys would come down to south miss . 5 miles from the ocean hot hot here already . No lakes , only rivers . Now tell me something !
Javan Harness. I would love to have those lures and that hair caster. I’ve always wanted to mater a bait caster but I guess we will see. Keep up the good work. U have my dream job just so u no. God Bless
Love your videos. Break it down like I am a 2 year old it helps.
Oo a Bass hat
Have a question. I'm fishing in WA state. I'm wondering if I can expect the bass to react the same up here in clearer and cooler waters. They are also competing with multiple trout. Do you think a trout color would make them strike? Or is territory not an issue between the two
Just learned to fishi with a spinning reel.. still get backlash.. my reel wasn't expensive so maybe i can blame the reel. I would love a new Okima bass reel. Hopefully it would help my experience. Anyway it would add a second spinning reel to my arsenal. Love watching your videos and listening to your technical knowledge.
Do you have a video that breaks down the summer for us bank anglers that can't access those deeper areas?
Great videos. Just curious where you're fishing?
We have two lakes close by here in St George, Utah that have Bass. Quail Creek state park & Sand Hollow state park. Would you still recommend the same lures or jigs in our Extremely hot weather & dry climate?
Sincerely,
Matthew
Great information. Using spoons in rivers may not work due to the current or am I wrong? I’ve never had any success with them. Offering the reel to give away is a great idea. Thanks!
LISTEN UP⚠️ bassfishinghq, try out the floating rapala f9, you cast and let it sit and then twitch it one time and you’re on a fish, EXTREMELY GOOD for ponds (best top water for ponds) and it’s great for lakes and creeks. PLEASE do a video on it, not a lot of people use it where I’m at and it catches them like crazy!!!!
Neeeeeed the reel!
Cool okuma makes great tackle
Yes they do!
Looking forward to 25k! What flutter spoon do you recommend?
Honestly the two I have used are the Strike King one and another made my Bass Pro Shops
I've been fishing with a bait casting rod and reel for a year now, but it's cheep it would be sweet to upgrade but I'm on a fixed income, that reel would up my game 100%
Wow nice 👍
