Perfect video. I had someone leave me with an empty wired box and a new switch with no clue how it was wired before. Your video gave me everything I needed. It's really helpful to see all the components laid out in plain sight. Knowing that the white wires should be twisted together in the existing box I "inherited" was priceless info. Great job!
Thank you for your help and your demonstration in this video! Because of your video, I realize what I did incorrectly and I’m fixing it right now. Thank you again!👍🏽🏴☠️
Absolutely perfect detail! I was following this diagram for two outdoor ceiling fans w/o lights in my extra large shop.I have one for each bay, and even the leviton video didn't say to connect the neutrals together. I didn't feel confident, then I found your video. Thank you very much sir.
Thanks for posting this. Even after watching the manufacturer's tutorial, I was still way off. It wasn't clear that all of the white wires get bundled together and don't get attached to the switch until I saw you do it.
Thanks for showing the result right up front. It made it clear that I was watching the correct video for my situation. Your demonstration was very clear. Thank you!
SAL!!!! You are the Man!!! I replaced a combination switch in my garage. The combination switch works the overhead light inside the garage and the other switch works 2 fixtures outside the garage. I was taught to connect the new stuff the same way the old stuff was. That was not the case this time. My old switch was nearly 30 years old. When I turned the power back on, the top switch powered both sets of lights. I knew I had done it right, so I searched YT for clarification and I found your video. I switched the hot and the fixture connections and it worked!!! Thank you so very much for the straightforward information.
Thanks so much Sal. I was installing lights in an outbuilding and was looking for a way to control separate fixtures from one feed wire. Very easy to follow.
Sal; you made my day! Thanks, I am adding an exhaust fan to my laundry room and wanted to add a second switch that controls the outside porch light. You have educated me and I'm trusting I can get the power to the new fan through the existing wall! Wish me luck and thank you again!
Thank you so much Sal for this very informative video. Very detailed, clear and easy to follow directions. I've looked all over UA-cam but your video gives the most comprehensive information. I liked and subed your video. UPDATE: Just finished adding this setup in my attic. One switch for the attic lights and one switch for my security camera Infrared lights. A licensed electrician wanted $500 + to run conduit and 2 outlets on the outside of my home for two Infrared lights. This was cost prohibited so I experimented with solar lights but I couldn't find any that would last dusk to dawn on 100 % brightness. I didn't know what I was going to do untill I saw your video. I spent $125 to add the Infrared illuminators that I needed, so your video saved me $375 dollars and the Infrared lights are so much better than solar. Once again Thank you so much Sal.
knowing what wires to hookup was what I was looking for to put in a single Duplex switch. Worked like a champ. "Houston we have lights"!. Great video and super explanation.
Wow! Thank you for that tutorial. It helped me a lot to connect 2 outdoor fans. Now I have to figure out how to connect a ventilation fan, wall light and outlet. Each switch individually.
So tried to wire bathroom same way it was before but different locations, welded a few wires, burned some wire nuts and tried to start a small fire. Your how to video just made my evening. Thanks
Thank you for video!! I am planning an attic fan install and was wanting to use the light that's already there. Now with the help of your video I can just run the line from the fan to switch box and hook to the double switch!!! Thank you sir!!!!!
Thanks for this. I was replacing the same switch, but, following the wire pattern from the old switch, one switch was controlling both fixtures. As if to mess with you, the new one had the power screws on the opposite side as the ground from the old one. I didn't know the screws were color coded. Your video helped me fix it properly,
I love you man!!!! I know just enough to get myself into trouble. I put it all together for my lights and when the switch is on, it popped the breaker. I turned the switch off and turned the breaker on and it was fine.
Thank you, Thank you!! Great video - right to the point and great layout of bulbs and switch. You laid them out so well for a good view to the camera. :)
Thanks a lot brother I didn’t know you had to break that part you said with the screwdriver in the middle to separate the power I didn’t know you had to do that so I learned something from what you said👍🏼 so now both work separately
Thank You... you made it look easy and took a lot of fear out of it. I always turn off the power... it was just... how do you make sure you have the wires connected the right way!! thank you... you showed me in a very nice way... take care of yourself.
Thank you for this video Sal, I was installing a bathroom fan in my bathroom and I wanted the light and fan on separate switches and this helped tremendously.
Thank you for this video, it explain the process very clearly. I do have a bit of a different situation though, working on an old 1930´s house. I get 2 wires from the service panel to the bathroom switch, a hot and a neutral I guess for the light. I want to add a bath fan, I run a wire from the switch to the fan location but now I feel I don’t have enough wires from the service panel to the switch to connect it.

Thank you!! We struggled for an hour until we watched your video!! Black screw = hot!! 💡

Your video is better than Leviton's own video of the same switch. Much less confusing. Thanks
