I wish they make some kind of connection between annotations and constraints. Like for example when you add a dimension, you should have it automatically create a length (dimension) constraints too and the other way around as well! This should be towards architecture too, not just mecanic and product design
If you do any 2D drawings in Rhino at all, per object linetype scale is super nice. Also cap-styles for linetypes. Its the only 2 reasons i used autocad to create 2d docs. In Rhino 7 you cant even draw a thick dased line with "boxy" caps, only round. Means i cant draw a siteplan to code in Rhino, and in v8 apparently i can. Took them only 20 years..
Oh wow - do you get rejections if the dashed line caps are non-rectangular? Neither one of municipalities in which we built (North EU) cares about that. They find plenty of other minuscule things to deny the build approvals over though
@@geddan they want their dashed zoning lines rectanguler:) I guess they wouldnt reject, but i never tried. But this aside, rhino should have been able to do this since ages ago
Which parts of SubD modeling do you think should be improved? I have my own list of "hopes and dreams" for SubD in Rhino 8 , and just want to see if they match up with other peoples'.
@@geddan I was in wireframe. I sadly found out it's not compatible with Parallels virtual Windows. However with Rhino 6/7 I was able to use Parallels on my Mac and it worked fine.
Hey Ged, just a pretty noob question for you, alright? When we architects design something sometimes a bit too curvy, even thinking about the materials (think about, idunno, Calatrava Museu do Amanhã, here in Brazil, that thing is insane), i think most don't think about the details for the structure (this is an engineer job), but there's some plugin or anthing to make some simulations, just to warn us when i do something very wrong, like n structural analysis? We should use it very superficially before show it to the engineer staff? Or we shouldn't, and it's good the way as it is? Thanks senpai!
For any large-scale public building you will have an engineer within the design team working since day 1. Don't forget that those types of buildings are produced by a factory of workers that all fall under an umbrella of the starchitects name (in this case - Santiago Calatrava) . For small scale architecture - where you have one architect creating the proposal - typically you evaluate if something will hold up just by the "feel" of the 3D view - unless you're doing something extreme. In that case - Karamba or Milipede are two great plugins for grasshopper, or preferably calling your engineer, showing a sketch and asking "how stupid is this design from 0 to 10?" if it's below 9 - it'll stand.
Its not major changes ... is it possible in grasshopper create procedual materials like blender and connect it to display node in grasshopper or material in vRAY ?
I've read somewhere that they are working on the icons and the dark theme. Honestly - I don't need the UI to look "modern" , I need it to be functional and fast.
Here's the WIP features list by the way! discourse.mcneel.com/t/rhino-wip-features/135638
I moved from SolidWorks to Rhino a couple months ago and constraints will be great to have back.
Yup it seems that that's how Rhino will take a bit from Fusion360 and Solidworks users.
How much are you saving?
Dark Theme yessss boi finally!!
Still waiting on the neon theme tho

Yea, similar way as how it's done in Fusion360? That would be quite lovely.
I have been craving selective Clipping Plane for so long! FINALLY!
Yea, that's one of the most anticipated tools for me too

I hope they will improve Sub D in Rhino 8 once it's released. The current one works not quite well as Blender or Modo .

I would love to see dynamic topography with some sort of surface draw tool.
I'm hopping for a new UV mapping system! And bug fixing!!
yo - same!
After inputting Testfancycurves, adjusting the data and setting enable to on, the drawing curve does not change because of what
About the final conclusion.
Can we use a block into a another block?. If we can do that we are definetly on a preBIM program :)
Just checked - yes, you can have nested blocks (BlockA made out of BlockB and BlockC)
I just downloaded rhino 8. Every time I draw a curve, I can't see anything? Oh my goodness, is it something to do with my settings?
Are you trying to draw a curve in the Arctic/Rendered shading mode? Switch to Wireframe or Shaded - it should be there.

Why is it when you export a rhino make2d file in Cad it causes pointsnapping to freeze even when everything has been flattened?
Hmm, might be too many lines for your computer to handle. Also hatches might be very dense patterns rather than a solid fill.
stable is the word!
is Section Style just about hatch? Or is it possible to set line weight, color, and line type though it?
It seems that they are working on Lineweight/Type/Color as well

Cuando se va a ñamzar la versión oficial de Rhinoceros 8?.... lo necesito, lo deseo :3
Developers don't have a release date but probably late 2023/early 2024

Maybe they'll give out half-a-kidney discounts..

That's the dream... would make rendering so much nicer in Rhino
pipe command with custom curves instead of regular circles.
Check out Sweep and Sweep2 commands. They do exactly that in Rhino 6 and 7
If they get a proper quad remesh that's the biggest feature..but you basically ignore it heh
Doesn't Rhino 7 already have a proper quadremesh?
21:16 stable?
yup.. that's the word! I sometimes lag out in real life..
32:15 Bruh. You are actually a nerd too though...
No u
The main problem is the old user interface ، There is no real update for it
I've read somewhere that they are working on the icons and the dark theme. Honestly - I don't need the UI to look "modern" , I need it to be functional and fast.
The ui is perfect. I wish they never change it
no Fillet/Chamfer approvement at all....
