I have some spicy stuffs for Orvar lol, here are some of my favorites: 1. Parallax tide, not even joking, a very powerful stax piece in this deck, it locks down your opponents' lands. How to abuse it ? Use up all the vanishing counters, with every single one on the stack, use bounce spell to target it, this way, you will resolve the leave the battlefield effect before the 5 exile trigger resolves, this will exile those lands permanently, and on top of that you get a copy of parallax tide. Displacer kitten also works if you don't have a bounce spell, live your dream of exiling 10 lands with only 1 or 2 mana LOL. 2. Imprisoned in the moon, well this one is a catch all repeatable removal piece for commanders. One neat trick you can pull is to enchant your own land when you cast it, this effectively renders your opponent's protection spells useless, you can follow it up by just copying it after it has enchanted your own land. This interaction totally bypasses hexproof, protection, ward, and shroud. And to make it even more brutal, they can only respond when Orvar's copy ability is on the stack, because if the copy resolves, they have no window to interact anymore, this forces them to react before knowing what you will enchant with the copy. 3. Swarmyard, pretty much a repeatable protection piece for Orvar. Even if you don't need the protection it provides, it is still a land, which also ramps you when you copy it. It has very low opportunity cost in the deck, you can easily swap out 1 basic for this extra protection.
Naru meha combo works, but not in the way he is describing. We'll use ghostly flicker as an example. 1. Cast ghostly flicker targeting things. Do not let this resolve for as long as possible 2. Cast naru meha, let resolve 3. Naru meha etb trigger on the stack, copy original ghoslty flicker, targeting naru meha and something else. 4. Ghostly flicker copy resolve, flicker naru meha and other target 5. Repeat steps 3-5 as many times as you want triggering magecraft, etb, ltb, and mana as much as you want This works without orvar to make as much mana as you want by flickering a land and tapping in response to naru meha etb trigger 👍 hope that helps
The Naru Meha combo doesn't work. Orvar triggers on you casting an Instant or Sorcery spell. Copying a spell is not casting a spell per rule 706.10. "To copy a spell, activated ability, or triggered ability means to put a copy of it onto the stack; a copy of a spell isn't cast and a copy of an activated ability isn't activated." There are some effects though like Isochron Scepter that create a copy of a card and allow you to cast it, which would trigger Orvar.
Note, Orvar copies and legendary rule negation is great for doubling his permanent duplication ability; however, targeting an Orvar does not trigger his ability/replicate Orvar itself. “One or more *other* permanents you control.” Copied spells will also not trigger his ability as other comments mention. Running cards like Patron Wizard for heavy wizard control, Swarmyard for land-based commander protection, or Master of Waves for a massive, instant speed, win-con on untap are recommended. 👍👍 Overall awesome vid!
You're missing all the fun cards. Sludge Monster, is a must have. Psychosis Crawler is a straight up win con. Scourge of Fleets is a control beast and an aggro beater. Master of Waves gives you so many fish, plus Orvar gets huge from the buffs. Also Teferi's Time Twist is a must have. Keeping a precious nonland noncreature permanent safe from boardwipes etc or just use as a targeted copy spell. My guy, think outside the box here.
Orvar got me into EDH, and he has been my main squeeze since day 1. I played in a pod that hadn't seen him before and how crazy he can get on the stack, and people were asking me how that was allowed to be printed

Sludge Monster is one of my fav cards in my Orvar deck!
Thoughts on torrential gearhulk? Hes a BEAST flashing in on opponents endstep, making a ton of huge beaters. Untap, swing❤🎉
Doesn't seem worth the high cost.
@@AmmiO2 even when you're copying and making so much lands? I found that Mana was never an issue in that deck
This deck doesn't do jack w/ 28 lands, lol.

Can you post your deck list?
This looks sick as fuck!!!!!

Orvar is one of my favorites I am currently scared the horrible RC will ban him.
Literally will never happen
