Hey folks hope you enjoyed the video. I have put a FAQ page on my website for frequently ask questions check it out www.primal-outdoors.com/faq
Nice
Proud to say this is my uncle that makes these awesome trailers!
I'm happier to be your uncle than I am to build these cool trailers. Thanks buddy
@@driftertrailers7101 : Better to be a dad than an uncle, but nephews are the closest thing I've got to sons. Nephews rock.
You should be proud - that's an awesome trailer.
Are you guys in Effingham ????????
Looks like I found the trailer imma go for, for my tacoma eventually lol
Several months ago I drove down to Rincon to speak with Steve personally and see his shop. He hooked up one of his trailers and we took it for a quick drive over some steep hills so I could see the trailer articulation. I have to say, TOP NOTCH construction. Steve is one of those talented people who prioritizes quality over quantity. Steve builds each trailer by hand and works closely with each customer to build EXACTLY what the customer wants. If you are a hard-core off-roader, Steve offers an independent suspension that removes the axle and provides a clean undercarriage that avoids potential axle damage. If this type of camping is your thing, I strongly encourage you to give Steve a call. Jason, thank you very much for the walk-around.
Hello Al, Thanks for the very nice comment. I enjoyed meeting you. Stop by any time you're in the area.
Steve, it was my pleasure.
Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it very much.
Jason
You've got a heck of a starter package.
Man, you make me wanna build my own setup. Always nice to tinker around and enjoy the project of something built by your own hands and heart.
Hope to see you outside in this setup more often.
Thanks again and cheers
Huge fan of the trailer!! I've got a jayco and you're soooo right about the quick setup. Most of the time I don't even disconnect the trailer from my jeep. I just roll into camp, jump into bed, wake up and keep on rolling. Thanks for sharing and really looking forward to tons of videos with the trailer and upgrades you make along the way!
I didn't know you were full time! 😲 I thought this was just a weekend hobby, this is the definition of American dream. I'm so glad for you Jason!
My first ever trailer of my own was an old 3 axle dozer trailer I hauled 2 antique tractors with to county fair tractor pulls. It was built in the same way as your camper with a center beam front to back. I have built many trailers over the years and that is one thing I did on EVERY one of them.
Awww, Daisy at 0:45. She's so cute.
😍🐕
Informative video. Thanks, Jason! Gives a lot of people a good, solid option for less expense. 👍🏼
That's the perfect camp trailer. Thanks for sharing.
I like the water jetted piece of metal around the door frame, awesome look 👍👍👍
It's the best time to camp. I agree 👍.
Love the hitch, the full length receiver and the stout fenders.
I really like this setup. Everything I see is either too busy (therefore more fragile) or too spartan (not designed to withstand human habitation) This Overland is the best of both worlds. Not only is the interior simple and solid, the exterior is designed to be used as well. Love those sturdy fenders!
Thank you for your kind words. We designed it to be just as you said. Simple and strong.
Great trailer and love the 4 roses small batch. That is one of my favorites. Cheers!
Wonderful trailer and you sure sold me on getting one. Problem is that I need a tow vehicle first!
Wow very strong simple bed on wheels. I'm with you on not dealing with a wet tent and the security of a safe comfortable place to sleep and I mean weather wise as well. I do agree with one of the comments it was good to see it behind the Ford too.
Great video man! Awesome to see some overlanding nice gear without all the fancy stuff.
Should have also mentioned, love your videos and the care and attention you give your two buddies.
I really like those doors. They look tough compared to most that look chiney. I also love your version of a rack. Way lower profile and way more versatile.
Thank you
Great job on your videos! The scenery, music and the dogs really touches me some how.
Time to get outside and stop staring at this phone.
Awesome video!!! Thank you for the upfront information and clear to the point delivery!
I really do enjoy the simplicity of your trailer...covers the necessities and allows for upgrades as you see fit
Scenery unreal
Love the simplicity!
So do I Ryan👍
Glad to see a good review on the Drifter, nice job. I like your philosophy that led to your basic unit; the same issues that I've been wrestling with. Great point about setting up and taking down a RTT in the rain! Now to decide on a 4x8 or a 5x8, Gen X...
That pretty awesome!! I like the setup!! Definitely a great option! Thanks man!!
That’s an awesome camper trailer, I’m so glad you went with a trailer vs the tent setup. You’ll be slot safer & if your ever camping during a storm you’ll have better protection from the elements. Great video! Keep doing what you’re doing buddy.
This rig looks great! Enjoy!! Again, great opening....awesome!
Thanks, Jonathan!
Very informative presentation. God bless travelers and outdoors men.
Love it. 🇨🇦
Oregon has got some beautiful landscapes. Wow. It is nice that you get to audition these products and we get to check them out on your post. Have a great weekend!
Oregon really does have something for everyone! I am very fortunate and am glad that you find these videos of value. Have a great weekend!
Simple and secure I like it.
Great trailer Jason and yet another idea for my table to consider. Multi element trailer and much more comfy than the CVT. I would just need a place for my kayak. Love it. You sold me.
Kayak can just be strapped to the top dude! And on to the road for your next adventure
Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon... I see you are a man of good taste. Nice review. :-)
I think you are correct about some trailer pricing people out of the market. Like you, I'm a fan of simple, low cost, effective solutions and it's nice to know there's a trailer manufacturer making such trailers. On another note, it's nice to see some good shots of the Oregon outdoors (Eastern side of the Cascades?). I also live in Oregon and love the outdoors.
Very nice trailer. Cant wait to see more video with it in action and your reaction after a few months
Great video. I'm sold.
Yo Jason...cool upgrade? Looking to see more videos on your new trailer💯Enjoy
Hey man! You’re doing great!! Just keep the videos coming! Any negative comments are coming from people stuck at home in the Midwest who are just jealous..... like me... in the suburbs of Chicago... where it’s been rain or cold since October 10th 2018... dude, I’m jealous... but God bless you my man! I’m rooting for you!!!
Great Trailer for basic goto and go anywhere travels. Thanks for the review and walkaround ....Peace
Awesome setup and great video as usual
Nice trailer Jason! It must be comfortable and definitely warmer on cold days than a tent.
very nice trailer
Nice. A good solid trailer with a good price. Like the cooking on the fender with the awning over the top. Thanks.
I like the roof rack just what I am looking for on my home built camper, thank you
Sick base set up. This is what i want for me and my daughter. Ps. How sick are those opening drone shots 🤙
Very cool man I like the simplicity.
Excellent walk around, thanks!
That is super cool. I really like the trailer. I really appreciate you sharing!
Hi Jason! Thank you for sharing this incredible trailer with us. I watched several channels with various set ups and they are all nice. However, I love this basic set up and the price, just under 11 grand, is a perfect start. What's really nice is that I would be able to drive down to Rincon, GA and personally talk with them about my personal preferences. Love and enjoy your channel. I notice you're driving a pick up truck in this video and a KIA Telluride in a later video. I own a 2016 Jeep Compass (4-cylinder 4X4) and hope that it will be able to tow the trailer; otherwise I may break down and trade up (Gladiator in mind).
Bad ass bro. Love to watch and get inspired. Thanks again.
Looks great and debt-free.
Fantastic! I want one. Great way to go. Especially with pets. Love the shower and awning set up as well.
We can make that happen. Let me know if you have any questions. Steve
Very Nice. It is an option that gives me something to think about. Great review.
Very nice. Love the Four Roses shelf
What I like about the trailer is that it’s built strong but has such a simple design. I’d probably like to see a vent/fan on the roof just for better air flow. But I really like this trailer and it’s price point.
Ken, The Primal Outdoors Edition comes with a Deep cycle marine battery, led interior lights, usb/12-volt charge ports, volt gauge and 3-speed Fantastic fan in the roof. Jason just didn't want or need that in his trailer. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Steve www.driftertrailers.com
See that Four Roses... nice
Nice trailer Jason👍
I’m in love with this trailer.
Did you get yours yet?
TheDenisedrake not yet
Dude you make the very best vids!
Nice choice of bourbon, one of my favorites.
Outstanding video
Looks like a decent basic trailer. I have the nucamp tag and at one time I thought about getting a camper for the back of my truck but quickly realized a small offroad capable trailer would be far better. With the trailer its great to get to a spot, drop the trailer and still be able to use the tow rig and you still have the truck for storage. One thing you might want to look at is the doors of the Tag trailer have a lip all the way around them that you can use them to attach a shower type tent(you have to macgyver it) so you can have a make shift porch for changing and storing boots and such. Something else I really appreciate about the Tag trailer is the huge centre Skylight. It allows huge light in and you really notice it if weather keeps you inside...huge bonus. That trailer frame looks like it will last a life time.
Four Roses Single Barrel, a man after my own heart.
Get yourself a jet boil and you can french press your way to a great cup of coffee without setting up the stove (on those quick stop and go nights)... Just ordered a patch, cant wait for it to come in. Long time subscriber here -always love your content.
Great idea Jason getting a really solid base model and then upgrading it to your own specifications as you get the money!
Looks great that trailer
Very nice rig.
Jason love your videos man.
Love the trailer,it too is like me.I like basic no frills.i can add those myself if I needed it.
I like how basic it is less stuff to go wrong while out adventuring.
Jason
That’s a lot of trailer for 10 grand! I like your set-up Jason. It will be cool to see what additional additions/changes you make in the next several months (small battery, solar, etc. Very nice purchase Jason!
Thanks Kevin I definitely have a few plans, but I'm really enjoying it just the way it is.
Jason
That’s a great looking trailer Jason, and the bonus is you haven’t got to lift the dogs up too far to get them into it. Keep up the good work and all the best from a wet and windy UK.
Thanks, Andy. It is working great for me...I can't imagine being without it now! Hope all is well in the UK!
Four Roses Small Batch. My man has fantastic taste.
This is simple and good.
Great review! Been following your adventures in Sasquatch, but your Christmas re- runs peaked my interest in your Drifter trailer! Thanks for sharing.
I like that your videos are always very informative and provide a lot of information about the subject you’re presenting. Thanks for sharing! I also find your videos strangely addictive?! Lol Keep up the great work!! P.S. I also love that you always take such good care of your sweet dogs! They’re my favorite!! ❤️
I looked them and 20 other small camper manufacturers. I went with outboundtrailer because they were along my price range and close enough for me to go see before i bought.
Nice trailer. Your logo looks awesome on there!
Awesome
Four Roses single barrel, very nice
Nice trailer Jason.I know it beats put the roof top tent up every night.I'm in Georgia thing I will give him a call. Thanks for another nice video.
Very cool‼️‼️. Thank X
I must be a cleanfreakaphobic. With a setup like this I'd be going nut's with wet / dirty boots, cloths and dogs when storm camping... the fact that you've got the awning helps for sure but I can't imagine what you do with all the crud that needs to get clean and dried out. When I build my TearDrifter I'm gonna have me a mud room : ).
Cool little trailer. Good to see the old Ford again !
Thanks, Tom. I'm loving it.
That is a Nice trailer! I totally agree with your perspective on having an affordable basic off road worthy trailer that you can customize and upgrade to suit your personal needs and desires. I'm really going to look seriously at one of these. I've got a 6'X12' cargo trailer now that I'm considering building out to pull behind my suburban but it is by no means as off road worthy as that drifter and its height though nice for standing is quite a wind block when towing and eats the fuel mileage. If your going to travel alot and do a good bit of off roading that drifter trailer would be hard to beat especially for us folks that dont have a ton of money to drop on the ridiculously priced over the top overland trailers.
Thank you. Let me know if I can help you spec out a Drifter Trailers camper
Cool trailer. And your right on so many points. Price, comfort, design, ease of use. I'm just curious about cold weather winter use? Great video. The simple approach also means less moving parts few breakdown issues, KISS. Awesome thank you.
Reminds me of an old west wagon. 👍👍
I like the price and the minimalist features.I've been thinking of buying land and building a small cabin to live off grid in.This would make a great temporary shelter and great way to just grab and go on the fly fishing trip to wherever.
Excellent detailed video Jason.
I just subbed because of Telluride, I'm a pride owner, Great SUV!
Put that propane tank in a real (borrowed..) milk crate, (not the cheap Walmart copies). They fit perfectly and hold the tank without it rolling all over and no janky strap work to hold it down. Nice looking trailer!
I like long videos, thank you.
Very nice basic trailer. Good color too. Take care, Al
Thanks, Al. I am super excited about how it turned out. It has been a game changer!
He’ll yeah!
Thanks that is good info
YES! Finally a capable off-road trailer that is affordable. You forgot to show your porta-potty setup. :P
TheDenisedrake see that tree above the propane tank all the way back behind the shot (at the end of the video)?
Yeah that’s it right there
He showed the trees doe
Great approach! Start basic and work your way up!
Another great video. Between your videos and Casey's I've decided that I want to visit your great state.
Thanks, Owen...it is pretty fantastic. I hope you get to come up and explore.
I do too
Very nice trailer!
Thanks Mark
Great video Jason. I'm really glad that I got the opportunity to camp with and have some great creative conversations with Steve while I was at Overland West with you, Phil with @Waypoint_Overland and the other Steve @greydodge08_overlanding. My conversations with Steve really got me thinking about what I would want in a trailer like yours. I also got to better understand what it costs to build even the basic units. It was really fun to hang out with him.
David, it was a great time. I really enjoyed getting to hang out and it was so rad that Steve got to come out and show everyone all the hard work he puts into each of them.
