- Winter Camping - First Time in Snow
Winter Storm came through, bringing snow to the area, so I took the opportunity to take the Drifter trailer on its first winter camping trip in the Snow.

I like your trailer bro... Hope i have one too 😊😊😊

What was the location of the camp site.? Awesome video thanks bud

I’ve never seen any of your videos before, UA-cam recommended this to me and I’m glad it did. That trip looked amazing and now I wanna quit this 9-5 buuulllllshit. Thank you for reminding me there is life outside my bubble !

Also.... No UA-cam in the Forest.
Oscar Goldman ok
Best idea I ever had. I set my schedule up so I just work Friday- Sunday all day long. Fuck weekend crowds anyways at least here in Colorado
You have a beautiful home Jason.
Us humans are so small...in comparison with mother nature.
It is camping.
Winter camping in my opinion is hard to beat.
Thank you for bringing us along.
👍🇺🇸🙏👏
The only difference between an ordeal + an Adventure is the way one looks @ it. Here's to many more Adventures!
I really enjoyed watching this video. Those two dogs behaved well. This young man really enjoys his free life style. I wish him the best. Please keep safe and watch out for the bears and wolves there. God bless you and your best companions.
This is smarter, warmer, and comfortable winter camping. Why do you have to suffer to camp?
Well said! Couldn't agree more! 👏
The cinematography is next level this guy got real talent 👏 👌
Absolutely!
Leave this life with memories, not dreams!
You got it

4 season camping.... doesn't matter. Any day camping is a better than a day working.
His dog looks VERY chill.
If you hate your job. I happen to love what I do and would rather be there than camping any day!
@@MiniM69 lol who washed ur brain slave?
@ lmfao you must hate your life

You know winter provides the snow that makes things real QUIET. I feel you preference for winter. Peace

It's like cinematography. Very nicely done. 👌🏾
His product placement was so inconspicuous too. 😂
Definitely my favorite “Camping time” is FALL. The “No mosquitos” alone, and no heat, is what makes it great!
I, too, love winter camping. Fewer people, quiet, and the sound of the wind and rain. A food soup with french bread and a good red wine. Ah, life is good.
After a long day at work it’s nice to come home drink a beer and watch this video! Love it brother! Very peaceful! Thanks!
Exactly what he ^ said.
Jay Owens LOL! ....as in... watching it comfy and warm 😉😄
Exactly exactly! 😂
Yup, worked 14 hours and now I got a glass of Rittenhouse Rye and my feet up.
I live in my 22ft Bambi Airstream. I say that too..”I don’t camp, I live”. Fall and early winter are my fave. No bugs and not too many people. Plus, in off season, I can stay at a campsite for 56 days, then move right next door for 56 more.
Ooohh, ok, so where ? And when is the 'off' season? Is BLM land? Or National Park? I'm going to be starting a 2yr Exploration of all the NationalParks & Seashores/Lakeshores in North America ( 2021: A Trail Odyssey ) and I would really like to know of such places, since I'll probably have at least 2 months downtime, when many of the parks in the Western side of the continent are closed to Back-country use in the Winter. Woud like to be able to park-up someplace nice with my Habitat.
@@callileahrizzuto2290 😜 She's obviously intelligent, didnt give up her fishing hole ,so to speak
Unbelievable landscapes
I enjoy your camping adventures in the winter season.
Those aerial shots are amazing, and getting to camp in that environment is just perfect.
Been camping since my early days. Just love being out in the country side. Enjoying the sounds and views and observing everything nature has to provide. Especially the stars at night, so much closer and brighter. You just feel closer to God when your out camping. My favorite time has always been Fall. Wishing I was younger so I could still camp. Because of your channel, I get to relive it with you. Thank you so much.
Don't ever let anyone tell you how to camp. I started camping in a tent, then a pop up, then a 21 foot, now a 34 foot. I absolutely love camping this way. You don't have to be miserable in a tent to be "camping"
Your video is outstanding!
You don’t have to drag a 34 foot monstrosity around with you to have a great time either. I’m 62 and still enjoy primitive camping. I see things you’ll never see because the best places haven’t been destroyed by a whole bunch of people fighting for a spot to park their behemoths.
I've spent many many nights in tents and I've never been miserable. I've been slightly uncomfortable but never miserable
Jazz, you are now Glamping! That's not camping anymore lol
Some get the trailers and go back to those spots without 50lb packs anymore and just make a day hike of it. Kids don't get it yet. We were hardcore tent/truck campers deep into our 40s. But I love our trailer, particularly in the PNW. We camp year round now. Have plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas already.
Just turned 76 young and have owned and camped in tents slide in campers 22 itasca 31 hurricane and now we have a gazelle t4 and a Tacoma. Also had a pop up aluminum trailer. We can now go everywhere we want . Great video thanks.
Your awesome sir.
Awesome trailer, awesome view. The heck with every body else saying that’s not camping. Oh well. That’s living life , enjoying what God has made for us!!!!!
I agree winter is the best camping season
“They just announced a winter storm advisory, so I’m headed out...........”
Man that’s all you need to say.
I hope I can find someone who loves me as much as this guy loves slow mo shots
😂
Hahaha good one!
lol
me 2
I dig the slo mo shots, that camper’s cleverly built, yeah? ( city dweller knowing zero about all this)
wow, snow falling, river view, fire, and two mates just the best and the camper love it.
Love camping in mid fall and early winter. No black flies, deer flies or mosquito's.
46 seconds in the dog cracks a smile lmao.
Sweet happy Daisy
I enjoy winter camping it's so peaceful the land is sleeping
Fall, Winter, and Spring for me
I melt in the summer outside, lol
you have inspired me to hit the road i have the technology been wanting to do this all my life beautiful videos.
Anytime is awesome 👍👍👍👍. Camping weather but I really love winter the most snow is a must
Thanks for a great outdoor time, beautiful forest camping and amazing aerial video shooting!
Agree! Having a great time watching video!
Down here in Texas I like to say the only thing worse than hot camping is not camping.
I love fall and winter and spring camping when it's not raining
This channel is giving me serious winter fomo! I live in New Zealand and can't wait for winter again!! Love your set up
I've gone snow camping where we actually built an snow cave and slept in it. Surprisingly warm in there.
I love late fall, early winter camping. The air smells so clean and fresh.
I’m right there with you.... fall and winter are my favorite! That’s such a great set up! You ain’t “camping”, you’re living the dream!
Thank you I really appreciate that comment.
Jason
Hello younger man.
I really enjoyed this video. UA-cam popped it up and I had to click on it. I subscribed within the first 5 minutes. I am also a solo man with 2 large dogs.
I am actually building my micro camper myself. I'll be pulling with a Durango. I estimate my progress as about halfway. Been using my off-work time to do this for the last year now. Your video is the future I'm pulled to live
Thanks. Keep making videos, I keep watching em.
RT Henson
Hello older man Henson.
So? You comment is a year old.. how are you coming along!?
1000% agree on winter packing camping.
Doesn't matter what some call "camping". You are at least "outside".
Yeah 100% agree
Got that right...🙏
100%!!!!
Really happy to hear people still think this way. Why “gateway” happiness in the outdoors?!
Back in my younger days my buds and I would camp on the ground during bitter winter weather...always camped on the solstice. When someone got a piece of new gear the other two would belittle the odd man out by saying, “You’re just a little closer to an RV.” I have a Casita now...shit happens!
I love winter camping I belonged to the boy scouts and we did winter camps, I got up in the middle of the night and looked around and was surrounded by a herd of deer all sleeping I got back in my tent and fell asleep it was great.
How sweet it is! An open fire and a very rounded dram!
My absolute favorite season for camping is whenever the Sheraton is having a special. Love your vids!
My Camp.
I'm eating Deer burger with beans, Diced tomato's and two cans of mixed vegetables. Cooked in my dutch oven on my woodstove.
Sitting with my dog and Cat
Best Wishes! M.H.
I'll buy that brother!
Love cooking in Dutch ovens. Especially biscuits.
Hey, i’m all agree with you that winter camping is the best thing, as you say, no bugs and campfire issue like summer. Like your videos. Best regards from Norway 😎
The dogs look like they love the new back shelf sleeping area.
Just a small emergency stop and they will be minced meat against the front window.
Crash safety is not part of the adventure
Just because your not in a tent, it's still camping and enjoying the outdoors
Just because you've got a top of the range chain saw it's still chopping down wood and enjoying the great outdoors.
Just because you bring two dogs, you're still alone out in the woods and enjoying the outdoors.
And spending more time filming and editing seems to take a whole lot of the "camping" part out of it. Ends up feeling like it was done solely to make a video for youtube, moreso than going out to get away from it all.
@@zzz7zzz9 just because you didn't continue the 'just because' theme we had going, you didn't ruin the thread. (LOL)

My wife and I are with you all the way; late fall followed by winter is the absolute best time to camp. We're lucky to live in the mountains of Utah where even the summer nights often fall into the high 40's , so summer is also tolerable. Nothing like a campfire in the snow though; can't beat it! Stay safe!
I’m so jealous man. It’s the little things for sure
Is it terrible I feel like selling everything and living like this ?!
Not at all
Bryon Bartholomew nope
Nope
Not at all would love to be able to quick my job and leave out on the road.
I live like this for over 50 years. Im from Akaska.
Camper looks nice a toasty warm. A great place to retreat to in the snow I am sure. Both of best worlds.
Just a man hanging out with his dog in the wilderness eating good food and drinking good whiskey
Neffels Tech nothing better
No crackheads scurrying about?!!
Blended whiskey? Yuk..
Don’t let them hate on you....that’s camping trailer or no....they are sitting at moms house and trying to say that isn’t camping...whatever..🙂
jeff gibson Why do people assume that criticism is always offered by people dissimilar to them or as if they don’t have anything to offer to the conversation. It’s dismissive and actually ruder than the original comment. Everyone has different preference. The internet has falsey elevated everyone’s opinion to the appearance of importance and relevance. It’s the nature of the beast. Chill.
M, I refuse to chill to people who sit behind a screen and call out someone that whatever they are doing isn’t up to their idea of what it should be. If they care so much of what “camping” really is then they go out there and lay in the snow and post a video. Fuck em. Some people have forget what it’s like to be confronted for being rude or overly critical of others.
M- it seems to me that you are doing exactly what you are saying isnt cool to do. Why are you criticizing jeff gibson and telling him to chill. He can do whatever the fkuc he wants and im sure his mom is ok w that.
Rick Tedeschi that was goin good for a second....and she’s dead but I’m sure she is..!
I'll be happy anywhere in anything as long as it's in nature. I don't have much time because of my job but I burn a firepit almost every night to enjoy being outside in the snow staring at this man made pond
Winter camping is the greatest.👍
Winter camping is the best due to
No bugs
No need to refrigerate things
Free water with snow
Coziness of keeping warm
Relying on yourself
AM JR + better views through forest, less people.
This is definitely camping in my books. I’d love a setup like this. I’m not a summer camper, here in Taiwan the summers are terrible to be outside. The humidity will just melt you into a puddle of grossness
Fall and winter are the best!
Favorite time for me is summer. The wife is all about it and we dont have to deal with the cold. I see the appeal of winter camping though.
It's never snow's here in mumbai but I love to camp in rainy season. In mumbai the rainy weather is perfect to camp and the view is incredible.
Love winter camping, fall second
Going to try winter tomorrow in my teardrop I also like fall . Summer is motorcycle camping.
Have fun Kevin I think you will have great time.

I'm new to all of this but have felt drawn to these type of activities recently. Maybe more and more people are trying to escape the rat race. Anyway I love your work and applaud you for making a go at doing this full time. All the best.
David Burnett I feel the same
So me
Escape while you can before the rat race invades these spots too.
......yeah, back in the 60's and early 70's when i was a teen......people wanted to escape what they called 'The Establishment'.....there were some vans then, but we just partied in them.....never occurred to us to live in them......and it was a radical thing to turn your back on a college degree .....and 9-5 job......viewed a complete loser.....yeah, we did a lotta drugs then and that prolly invalidated our complaint....and our passion for the 'back to nature' life eventually got lost in the shuffle .....now people know, the beautiful home will never be theirs....if they miss one annual lease payment to the government (taxes) they stand to lose it all....taxes run on the average here $800/month.....much higher other locations.....with all the maintenance and HOA rules, is it really worth it??.....it will never be your's....i mean, why would you want to do that for the rest of your life????.....gotta come a time when you allow yourself to drop the ball and live life from your heart....simple abundance....if you're interested, and don't get sucked into the socialized church system..... the One who started all that was Jesus Christ....✝
I would enjoy the tranquility!
I don’t care what they say living like you do is really living. Being attached to one place and not being able to change the view is not living life to the fullest
*_omg, I think I just met the best channel on UA-cam_* 🌲🌿❄️⛄️☃️🌲🌲
I used to love winter camping. To me it takes a bit of skill and knowledge to camp in the middle of the winter
I am watching the video and... I have goose bumps! That place, the trailer, the fire, the snow... everything sum up to make it a small paradise.
Imagine camping and out of nowhere you hear a chainsaw 😂😂
You saw "Deliverance" too?
Neat Gifts yea Hear a chainsaw or a banjo...

Love it! The fact that you can just pull in anywhere and have a night like this. Great video!
“Camping” “A place of temporary accommodations of huts, tents, or other structures typically used by soldiers, refugees, prisoners or other travelers”. (New Oxford American Dictionary). Forget the naysayers, they’re just jealous. You don’t have to just use a tent for camping. Depending on who’s going and what we’re doing, our family uses the RV, a tent, or my son and I snow camp off-road with just a tarp. The point is to get outdoors and do something rather than just sit on the couch and watch life go by. Best wishes!
MtnMan ‘47 YOU FOLKS ARE EXPERIENCED CAMPERS!!
One cannot post "adventures", and in your case..... brag about camping with a TARP, when some one, TOTALLY INEXPERIENCED AND NAIVE, will read your words and end up FREEZING TO DEATH.
Gotta frame your words with cautions for the less knowledgeable, inexperienced, and the youngsters who watch UA-cam.
CONTACT JOY: you’re hilarious! I’m not telling the inexperienced to do anything they’re not prepared to do. I was merely explaining that camping can take many forms. If you want to enjoy the great outdoors, of course you should learn before heading out on your own. Go with an experienced friend or learn in another way. If you’re not comfortable with your abilities then don’t take risks but don’t censure those of us that are not afraid of the wilderness and prefer the outdoors to the “safety” (HA!) of the cities, have a nice day my dear😊.
Cherry : 🤣 I think you’ve got it 👍!
MtnMan ‘47 I just camped with a tarp and thanks to you I froze my damn ass off 🙄 lmao
Emily Bourke : 🤣. Emily, ya gotta make sure your camping partner is a big ol’ woolly bear 🐻. That way you can cuddle up under the tarp and stay warm and cozy 🤭😜. A little of your favorite “snake bite” doesn’t hurt either😝. (Especially if your woolly bear is a bit homely 🥴 )
Hey it’s still camping they just jealous lol sending lots of love from Atlanta
You just made winter my favorite camping season. Ha
Only way to live brother we are a family of 8 doing it
Wow this brings back so many memories going with my grandad camping sitting around a fire while he is sipping his whiskey and just watching the Stars. Thank you miss you grandad 😢
I’ve just seen my idea of heaven!...morning coffee with the dogs, Mr. Buddy heater going inside the trailer and beautiful surroundings. It doesn’t get better than this! 🥰
This was in my recommendations and clicked it said oh well let's watch..... good music to start out, snow, truck, cammper, and a dogo okay definitely watching.
It's easier for someone watching from the outside to give a list of things that you're doing wrong, not bc you're doing ANYTHING wrong - but bc they have something going on (jealousy, insecurity, etc.) You seem like such a nice, down to earth guy and we need more people out there like that. ❤️
Amanda G I absolutely agree great comment👍
Insecurity rofl
You are a delight. Authentic, honest, and you love your dogs, good food, great set up and fire. What more would one want? And it IS camping... thank you for the beauty.
I don’t think there is enough slow motion shots.
You are an American Hero friend. Right now, office-junkies all over America are watching this from their corporate jail cube wishing they were you. You’ve got it made. 👌
That's a bit overdramatic, the guy just goes camping, as do many people across the world, not just America. There IS a world outside of America. Besides, he's got a two ton truck, a half ton or more trailer, a chainsaw and god knows what else, and he drives in to the woods. It's hardly heroic stuff. Camping is great, but it certainly isn't the dream life you make it out to be. Using the toilet, having a shower, washing and drying your clothes and boots? Not so great in the winter, even assuming the weather is on your side.
"American hero"😂
A hero!!?? Lol your funny
I'm seating on my front porch, watching snow camping, so we can get ready. This looks perfect!!
Well , I am selling most of my stuff, the house the kids , just kidding they are on there own so wife and I are going to go live in are trailer with are two dogs and going to Arizona yes I am disabled/ retired wife is taking a early retirement we will be fine, no more bills we have satellite Internet so we can do are banking online just as we always have been doing the difference is we can live anywhere we want for the most part

The color grading, the cinematography is so on point! Amazing job!
When my son was in Boy Scouts, we were in a fairly large and active troop that did a lot of camping all year around (troop located in a suburb just west of Milwaukee, Wisconsin).
These were "working" camp-outs that furthered rank advancements, merit badges, leadership skills, lots of physical activities, hiking, games, camping skills, fire building, winter/summer survival skills games etc.
The fathers were also very active and involved.
I was was probably the oldest Dad there and I was never able to just sit around.
I did it all too, my son took it all for granted, but I survived.
It was a great parent/child bonding shared activity.
The parents (mostly dads, of course) were well educated and invested.
The scouts (from 5th through high-school senior) learned to do camp set-ups, tent layout and erecting, build fires, cook meals, make shopping lists, plan patrol activities, teach and lead younger scouts etc.
We also participated in camporees/jamborees, sometimes with dozens of other troops. Like sort of large gathering spread over many acres.
Very exciting stimulating and challenging with all types of Scout skill competitions.
It allowed my son to be "on his own", with the knowledge that, if the situation should arise, his father was there, but out of his way.
Lots of intense activities and "guy" fun!
Great memories........
Hey. I enjoyed your video.
I grew up old school in the Australian bush.
Been a bushman my whole life.
I currently live on a remote beach (by Australian standards) on the Great Barrier Reef.
Closest city is ten hours away, most of it off-road.
I married a small-town Ohio girl so also lived for ten years ALL OVER the US.
She is of course here with me now and loves it.
She's been here twenty years.
we've got three hundred miles of world heritage wilderness 60 feet off our back door.
Hardly ever see a soul unless we go to town which is the way we like it.
It's a pristine environment and we are surrounded by wildlife.
Kangaroos, Wallabies, Sea Eagles, Wedgetail Eagles, Australian Salt Water crocodiles, 3-meter goannas, Koalas, Watter Buffalo, Emu, camels, dingoes, echidnas, platypus, feral pigs, Dugong (which you guys call Manta-Ray, Dolphins, sharks, whales. Brumbies (Wild Horses), a whole slew of highly venemous snakes..... I don't know. the list goes on.
My beach is also one of the Pacific's most important Green and loggerhead turtle rookeries and I take my custodianship of it very seriously.
I spend a lot my time fighting invasive species, particularly Prickly Pair Cactus which some idiot introduced back in the fifties from your neck of the woods. Cane Toads too.
I don't really camp a lot anymore because.....well, I just don't need to.
It's all right here anyway but when I do I usually go west which brings me to my point.
The really great thing about Australia is the space.
I can drive west along the old stock routes which are still common ground and not see a single person or building for five four miles.
Summer is tough in the outback if you don't know what you're doing though.
Kills a lot of people every year.
So I also choose winter or spring or Autumn because it's brutal out west in summer.
If you have a breakdown that can't be repaired on the side of the track there's no walking out.
Anyways, I thought you might enjoy reading the reach your channels getting.
Thanks for the videos.
The US is such a beautiful country.
I like late summer/early fall for tenting. It’s still warm enough to swim by day, gets a little cool at night, beautiful foliage, crowds are gone!
June and October are the two best months in mn
I just got into "hot tent" camping in the winter, I love it and I made all my stuff even the stove. U should look into it
I love camping early Spring fall and winter

A special day. I would do this my whole life. winter camping is special. Respect from a camper from Romania! :)
Just stumbled on your channel. I love fall and winter camping. The way you captured the essence of the experience was very relaxing. Great work and thank you!
100% camping mate. Id love a camper like that
This is a perfect way to enjoy outdoors without having the upkeep of a cabin. Thanks for the therapy. I had to stop the Zillow addiction until we pay off the house. After watching this, I feel so much better. Maybe hubby will go for the truck, camper combo since this involves NO HOA, no contract for deed, no permanent commitment, no mowing the lawn at the cabin, etc. I wonder what it would take to do a bike version of this??? Like your bike pulling a trailer with a tent, I suppose, but likely not the Mr. Buddy heater. I love winter biking. Could pull the dog in the bike trailer?? Happy travels!!
I wanna leave everything in my life and live a life like the way he is living. Sell everything car house everything. And just live in a snow and buy one van or pickup like him.. But unfortunately i live in dubai where snowing impossible 🤣🤣🤣💙

1st time 2 the campfire. Loving the scenery, dogs, your philosophy & adventures. Where are you? Great job with the camera.
I’m with you 100%. Most of the camping we do is in the warmer months because no one wants to come with me out in the cold but that is the perfect time for it. I’m actually going to try to hammock camp this winter to see how that goes. Looking forward to it. Very jealous of you area. Looks great.
Completely agree with u. Fall & Winter r the best for camping 😉
