Excellent video and thank very much for making and sharing it! I found out about tons of new games I had no idea existed. Out of the games I've played demos of, or just based on how the gameplay looks, my most anticipated in the video are: - Fortune's Run - Trepang 2 - Selaco - Coven - Forgive Me Father 2 - Fallen Aces I was surprised to not see WH40K Boltgun or System Shock in the video though. I'm sure we all know about those 2 though.

Can you recommend any boomer shooters that has 1. Lots of weapons to choose from, bonus if there’s attachable scopes and silencers 2. The option to deal with enemies either by going in guns blazing, using stealth, or picking off from a distance with a rifle 3. Open world/RPG/Sandbox vibes Basically low-poly/retro versions of STALKER, Cyberpunk 2077, Far Cry 5, Deus Ex.

LOL man, I was watching the video and then my game (ProBoon Lite) appeared 😅 It was a little bit awkward because, even though I'm grateful, I'm reworking the game from the ground up, including switching from Unreal Engine to Unity and creating my own sprites. So it's not going to look like it does in the video, and I felt a wave of slight embarrasment for that HAHA. Anyway, thank you! P.S: I noticed that most games are single player only, right?

Brutal fate won't come this year. It's developpement is paused. The dev wants to finish Brutal Doom first. He is working on this project since last year.
Do these devs forget that the LAN parties and multiplayer was one of the best parts of the boomer shooter era? People are still playing Quake 1 competitively today...
I don't think it's forgotten but it's very hard pulling of new multiplayer arena shooters in today's day and age, I wish it wasn't so but it's the truth, many come and go very quickly. We have one releasing next month that will be free, video on it releasing on Sunday.

Its really really good! Does take a little patience with the rogue like elements but it's worth it! Also where is Shroud? I need a steam page or itch page pronto! 🌟😁
Games look great. Biggest disappointment though, is the lack of pvp modes included in most of the games. Miss the high paced CTF, Deathmatch, domination, and sports inspired modes like bombing run, that happen to be absent from most of these titles :/
Yeah I agree! Problem is tho that the demand for it is far too small, it's simply not worth it for the indie developers to create it. Luckily we got just that in the Quake 2 remaster so some fun is to be had :)

I could do a similar list for pretty much any genre so with that mentality you shouldn't develop any game :) All you have to do is look at these coming and create something that sticks out from the rest. Easier said then done but that goes for any type of game.
@@ZlimBratSkiHaha, I was being memey ;) I love boomer shooters of every color and shape, but I feel like the vision I have is a a bit removed from a "classic" boomer shooter. But I am far from having something presentable, as of yet :D
Too many... Another genre being milked to death until you can't be excited anymore. Now indies are switching from 2D pixelvomit roguelites to fps. Guess we should be careful what we wish for. Guess I'll be glad that they don't spam rhythm, stealth or Mafia/Gta likes, so at least those can still evoke some emotions

Do these devs forget that the LAN parties and multiplayer was one of the best parts of the boomer shooter era? People are still playing Quake 1 competitively today...
I don't think it's forgotten but it's very hard pulling of new multiplayer arena shooters in today's day and age, I wish it wasn't so but it's the truth, many come and go very quickly. We have one releasing next month that will be free, video on it releasing on Sunday.

Games look great. Biggest disappointment though, is the lack of pvp modes included in most of the games.
Miss the high paced CTF, Deathmatch, domination, and sports inspired modes like bombing run, that happen to be absent from most of these titles :/
Yeah I agree! Problem is tho that the demand for it is far too small, it's simply not worth it for the indie developers to create it. Luckily we got just that in the Quake 2 remaster so some fun is to be had :)

I could do a similar list for pretty much any genre so with that mentality you shouldn't develop any game :) All you have to do is look at these coming and create something that sticks out from the rest. Easier said then done but that goes for any type of game.

Too many... Another genre being milked to death until you can't be excited anymore. Now indies are switching from 2D pixelvomit roguelites to fps. Guess we should be careful what we wish for. Guess I'll be glad that they don't spam rhythm, stealth or Mafia/Gta likes, so at least those can still evoke some emotions
