Real disappointment to see this happen to Roglic. This was definitely avoidable and Le Tour needs to investigate as to how this was missed.

Such a shame. Again, it is the road side furniture and nobody there to wave the riders around which decides the race.

Totally agree. With riders bunched closely in the peloton, they are unable to see far. Pogacar nearly hit the kerb the other day and there was no clear warning of potential danger to the riders. By the time the riders spot the danger, it could be already too late. This happened again yesterday. Riders should be competing based on their skill and stamina, and not be affected by a misfortune like this. It's a joke for riders to ride the dirt roads last week and it is miraculous that none of them fell. Imagine hitting sharp stones and rocks. In my view, the organiser for this year tour is among the worst I have seen. A complete failure.

Insane that ASO at least do not put up high barriers there so everyone can see it - immoral!

@@chinpinhon as far as spotting dangers ahead, I’m fairly certain all teams get this info day of or day before so they can relay info from their radios to riders. Obviously that doesn’t stop the problem but it’s not so cut and dry how they should go about road furniture, especially because 364 days of the year, it is NOT a TDF stage. Moreover, cobbles and gravel require a different skill set than that of regular peloton riding, which makes it extremely enjoyable to watch as a spectator. From a racers perspective it is indeed dangerous, but this is arguably already the hardest race in the world, and a potentially very dangerous sport, so I’d say send it!! Allows for more unique races and strategies and is more realistic to how most of us have to ride in 2024!

    Lochenko took out Roglic...
How unlucky can a rider possibly be?

      Have a look at 1:07.
All the other riders are slowing; Roglic does not, and steams into the back of an UnoX rider.
Had he braked like everyone else, he could have gone around just like that UnoX rider he hit did.
Some riders crash consistently more than others - and often when you see those crashes, they are to blame.
There’s a reason Roglic crashes so often.

Looks like he got squeezed towards that center barrier, and once he got too close there was nothing he could do. The video doesn't really show if it was his fault or if it was someone else causing it.

If Lochenko wanted to stabilise himself I can understand that he would put his foot down but why did he stetched his leg out infront of the riders. This leg that he stretched out is a problem for me. I hope this fact will be investigated.
