- Throughout all the Pokemon games, healing your Pokemon is a major mechanic, as it allows you to continue to use your team through your entire playthrough. But what if that element was removed from the game? Today we're going to find out how easily you can beat Pokemon Red/Blue without ever healing. I love how this challenge totally flies in the face of the anime/later games message of "just believe and work hard, and you can overcome anything! Be friends with your pokemon to unlock their true inner power!"

Nuzlockes are challenging in the way that impatients can end the run, with enough grinding and abusing Pokemon centers, anything is possible.
I hope this becomes a speedrun category. Except instead of a record time, it's a world record for fewest Pokemon caught/used.

A mistake I noticed was that you said Rhydon and Aerodactl were quad weak to ice, but rock types actually take neutral damage from ice moves, so it would only be double effective.
@ClevelandGOAT yeah, psychic was immune to ghost and poison and bug were super effective against each other, but I'm pertty sure rock wasn't weak to ice

@@KinjiroTheThunder and gust, too. Also focus energy actually lowers your critical hit rate, there's a glitch where moves miss even if they have 100 accuracy... Gen 1 has a lot of very weird errors of that kind

@@pelican3916 Well, in Dark Souls 2, there's a special ring that makes your weapon invisible. It's obtained by not resting at a single bonfire. Another one is obtained by not dying.
Chaoskiller IRAQ Ah, that’s really interesting! I didn’t know that DS2 actually gave you an item for never using bonfires. I don’t know how practical that ring would be, but I’m sure people appreciate getting an actual in-game item for accomplishing such a challenge.
@@pelican3916 Well, it is sorta useful for trickery in PvP and can be used to create themed builds, but it isn't really useful for the majority of players and acts more like a proof that you've done it.

I’ve watched every challenge video you’ve put out so far. This one’s easily your most involved, since most of your other ones, while hard to complete, boil down to mostly menial labor. This one required a lot of planning and thinking compared to those in my opinion.

Should have beaten Surge earlier to get the TM for Thunderbolt. 3 Digs for 15 PP on a strong STAB move for Jolteon.
That would mean no Thunderbolt for Zapdos, though.

9876129861 How is this like Fire Emblem? You can heal in the Fire Emblem games, generally you don’t get replacement units (except in the first one), and the units aren’t meant to be seen as expendable.

You could also have saved some HP on the snorlax by walking 3 steps, saving then resetting, this will reset the poisom step counter.

Is ice type moves super effective against rock this generation? U keep on saying for example that aerodacytl is quad weak to ice beam, but from my know ledge is should only just be super effective, not quad

Yes. Possibly even by accident.
With the infinite usage of TMs, it's so possible.
Ridwan Except from Black and White onward you can’t use TMs to gain PP. Unless you mean using them to get powerful moves onto freshly-caught Pokémon.
@@agirlinsearchof9057 Black and white onwards, you can teach a stupid move on top of the move that has its pp depleted and then rinse and repeat. Like, if return has its pp depleted, you can replace it with protect and then replace it with return to instantly get a fresh set of pp, right?
