After taking on the speedrunning challenge in Pokemon Red and Blue, I really wanted to see if I could test my skills in the new Pokemon games... however I wanted to beat them in only 20 MINUTES. Today we're going to find out how easily you can speedrun Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl! I would love to see what happens after these glitched speedruns, I imagine quite a few events in the game would either be missing or act strangely if you were to play though it afterward! Not to mention getting postgame stuff early!

I actually much prefer glitchless Pokemon runs. I find it interesting to see how quickly someone can beat the games within the parameters the devs set.

It's quite surprising how they managed to not only bring most if not all of the original games glitches, but also create a lot of new ones. Not a faithful remake anymore then.

Welp, I had to replace my Switch and couldn't transfer the save data of my finished copy of Diamond, and I currently don't feel like playing the whole game again, so I might as well try this method instead!

Probably. It doesn't play the game for you and wouldn't really be any different then counting a metronome or staring at a digital clock to know when to change direction. Really depends on how the community decides to rule it though and some are stricter than others.

Is there a way to downgrade a cart back to .1 after already patching to .3?
If you have the physical cart, yes, but you'll need to factory reset your Switch (or buy a second Switch) - otherwise, even if you uninstall the game it "remembers" that it has to update it, and won't let you play until you do.

Get all the trainer stars in emerald +complete the national dex and we will compare our last times
Mine is 262:04 hours (pretty bad I know)
The fact that you have completed the national dex before I will assume you already have the different games to do so(time from different games won't be counted) and glitches are allowed

I hate the fact that they force you to update the game now if you want to just run the game on your switch. It makes it so that only people who have not updated, or that are using specific versions, can do certain types of gameplay or speedruns.
Now, because it forces you to update, the speedrun category on 1.1.1 is extremely limited and only a small amount of players can do runs in this category.
Everyone else cannot use the exploits from 1.1.1 till they get the HM02, wherein then can they use the menu glitch.
The forced updates remove the choice from players, and that is not okay for many people.
