HOW EASILY CAN YOU BEAT POKEMON RED/BLUE IN REVERSE?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 гру 2019
- The Pokemon series has a very simple concept: roam throughout the region and collect the badges to become the best of the best. In every game, there is a set order that Game Freak wants you to collect the badges, but what if I told you that you could do it in backwards? Today we're going to find out how easily you can beat Pokemon Red and Blue in reverse! This video took a lot of time and effort to put together, so I'd really appreciate it if you shared this with a friend. If you have any suggestions for the next video, leave it in the comments below! Have a great day :)

Glitch runners- find the glitches and break the games
Shiny hunters-hunt the rarest Pokemon in the game
Compleationist- complete the games as much as possible
Average fan- do a ton of crazy runs including catching all the Pokemon in 24 hours, oak challenge ect -John appearantly falls here

Welcome to old school gaming...we've come a ways since then xD
It acually was, they said the coding was messy and a 14 year old white girl is way more stable than the game
@@coreflakes That's how low level stuff works, on current systems if you tried to do stuff like this OS would most likley crash the game due to memory violation
@@coreflakes the issue with gen 1 is that its an insane amount of content crammed into not much space. the coding is actually ingenious -- nowadays you dont need to pay attention to every single bit so ypu can fit everything in. and in regular gameplay you wouldnt come across those glitches (looking at you here, bethesda, you have no fucking excuse) -- these come from deliberately testing the limits of the game. and it still runs stably instead of crashing. gen 1 games are a marvel of coding work, rather than a mess. the speedrunners just made a mess out of them and they *still work*
And it’s beautiful

16:12 Swift is actually unaffected from the 1/256 miss in non-Japanese games, as it automatically skips all accuracy checks
Blep Bloop
True, but that’s because Swift isn’t a 100% accuracy move, something like Psychic would be. The whole reason behind a move having 100% base accuracy is for it to be affected by accuracy drops and evasion boosts because the game (is supposed to be) using these values to calculate whether or not the move hits. Swift actually has no base accuracy stat because of it bypassing the accuracy/evasion checks. There’s no actual percentage to do calculations with, even though it’s factually 100% accurate. No idea why he said that when playing footage of him using Swift though.
@@rainpooper7088 Yeah I think he knows that. But swift was onscreen and that is the only move in the game that legitimately cant miss thanks to the 1/256 glitch
18:10 “Pokemon league champions are honored for their exploits here”

I like your username
So long
I always found it so interesting how many glitches the first generation of games had. It was cool to see you play this challenge. I used to use the Mew Glitch on every trainer that I could with my Yellow game
How do people come up with this stuff
trainerfly and old man glitches led to the infamous missingno glitch, which led to the item underflow mentioned in the video, and from there people were able to mess with any item and any memory value directly in the game. with lists of what every value does thanks to romhackers and the disassembly, people can make the game behave however they want.
Just playing around and experimenting.

This was...HILARIOUS!
I’m constantly amazed how broken gen1 is, I love it!
Just finished this run myself after watching your video. I used your guide for the most part, but hit a couple of snags at certain points and had to use some tricks from other runs.
Biggest hiccup was attempting to warp to Giovanni from catching mewtwo, and I wound up using an escape rope and jacking into viridian gym instead. After that i fear my bag became irreversibly ruined, and I wound up warping using pokemarts to warp directly to each city and jack into any gyms that required it.
All in all, a fun run, but my strats after splitting from the guide were definitely NOT optimal.
Thanks for the great video, and the great time I had trying to replicate these tricks! :)
