- Hurricane Fiona is about to make a hard landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in Nova Scotia. Tropical Depression Nine still remains disorganized in the Caribbean.
Most Prayers for those in her path. So many people that are Not used to this crazy storm, and my heart is with you all.
We get hurricanes, but not this strong
I am praying with you, Julie Patterson. I agree that people aren’t ready for this. I also pray that all will be safe … may God be with everyone at this time. 🙏🙏😔😔❤️

You are the best and most informative weather broadcaster I’ve ever watched. Well done!
This is one of THE BEST forecasters I have seen
Thinking of my friends in Nova Scotia, literally the nicest people in the world.
This was one of the most informative weather explanations I’ve seen.
Stay safe everyone.
🙏🙏🙏🙏to all in its path.
Give this man the Bill NYE the Science Guy award for best detailed meteorological analysis 👏🏽 Hoping everyone stays safe thru the coming days but appreciate the simple & precise explanations.
My sister lives in Nova Scotia… I pray for her safety….. I haven’t seen her since well before Covid-19. Love you Wendy. I hope you and Doug stay safe… will be worrying about you. ❤️❤️🤗🤗
It was a pleasure watching you explain this. Thank you...
This guy is like the most comprehensive meteorologist I’ve ever seen.
This man deserves a spot on live tv. Weathermen like him are much needed. Very informative. Thanks for all you do! One question though, what would cause Fiona to move at such a rapid pace? Never heard of a hurricane moving at over 40+ MPH. Thanks again.
Great long form explanation David! Looking to learn from more of these in the future as hurricane season continues.
Thank you David. Your coverage is too notch.
Very tough to hear about these storms n systems. My anxiety is over the top. But you help by taking it slow and giving the knowledge needed for us to be prepared ready ahead of time. I truly appreciate you. Have a nice night and I will stay tuned.
*Top notch
Toughen up
He's my go to for storm coverage.
@@Brascobadboy with you as my pouncing Bag for my Toughing up workout... ROFL.
@@drogusmaxwell6640 smart go to choice. This man is coverage plus and leaves nothing out. It's like a course class workshop listening to him. Have a nice weekend.
This is the best explanation I have seen yet for this storm. Very detailed, in depth analysis. Thank you.
Prayers for our sister and brothers in Canada
Who's this guy?! Haven't seen any meteorologist as good as him! This is the real deal, not just a weather man. He should make a UA-cam channel. If you read this comment, pls do lol. Greetings from Gainesville, FL.
Brilliant as usual Mr. Paul, thank you.
David nuff thanks to you for keeping us informed on these hurricanes , we're hoping and praying that those people in that area ' NOVA SCOTIA will be protected from this disasters FONIA
After surviving Katrina, his clear forecast of the strength and inevitability of this killer storm means “shelter in place.”
I've never seen such a powerful system like Fiona hit right there.... I hope those people are going to be OK. It's a serious event that needed to be planned for so I hope they did.... Let's also not forget how amazing it is that we are able to get a halfway decent idea of where these storm systems are going to be in a week. you can never blame the weather folks for anything bad that happens because you have ample time to prepare and even though it's not clear exactly where the storm is going to go, we've got a pretty darn good idea and you need to keep your eyes and ears open
P up nó ok km
Nj
We planned, not our first storm. Power is out and storm chips ready. Lol
Ever heard of Irma?
I Thought he meant canada

Thank you very much for your information, Am watching from Jamaica 🇯🇲
Hello Jamaica! 👍
Will pray for you and Jamaica brother
Watching from Jamaica 🇯🇲 seems like we are only going get rain 🌧️
Lord God please be merciful to our families in Canada ❤️
Im Nova Scotia and scared...😬
I enjoyed watching the way this guy presented this forecast. He gave each model a run through. Granted, he was allotted the time to do so, while most weather people are not. But he makes this easy to understand.
Thank you for this fantastic presentation!
Fort myers here.. rooting for the American model😮 great forecast !
Thanks David.. awesome work! Praying for everyone in these paths!
I've gotta say, having this level of detail in a weather infocast should be the default. I'm not a meteorologist, but having more information for the people that are enthusiasts or casual observers out of harms' way would definitely bring people into the field.
Yes, I know that's not the most important thing at this point. I'm just giving props where props are due.
This storm is insane! Canada is getting the worst storm ever in nations history.
This happened with a Pacific Typhoon on Alaska recently also! Search it up online 😮
cool beans
not "ever" friend, it is one of "many" on the way,...the climate has changed.
Thanks Oil !
@Spartan
Yet most people still deny Climate Change. The storms are getting more frequent, stronger and traveling much further North. Global Warming feeds these storms.
it wasn't even that bad here in halifax. and they said it would be hurricane Dorian and Juan combined
hurricane Juan took out 10s of thousands of trees and we lost power for over a week. not a single branch broke in my yard. storm surge was nowhere near what they called for. 🇨🇦
LOVE YOUR WEATHER FORECAST ❤️ 😍 💕
I really enjoy watching your trackings! Stay safe!
God has been merciful to Jamaica!
God has nothing to do with it.
That was great, thank you. So much information, I think I might understand some of it. Half way through your hurricane lesson I’m saying wow this is complicated, I thought they were more just windy and messy. By the time you finished you agreed, yes this is complicated, lol. I hope we’re all ok at the end of this storm. Help your neighbors.
Lord please look out for these souls that are in the path of these storms. I was in Harvey and it was no joke.
Thanks for these detailed reports Dave. The best.
Thanks for mentioning the impact on Jamaica. All the other forecasters skip over us.
Just hanging out here on western Nova Scotia. We should avoid the worst part here, but I am worried about family in Halifax and NFLD. This could be our once a decade storm, hope things aren't as bad as they look to be.
Not great in St Margaret's Bay area. Power is out the house is shaking and I can hear shingles pulling off the house
Good luck on storm..our hell will be wed coming
@@beachsisters5678 hope it doesn't get any worse for you. I've been lucky so far here in Greenwood, power has gone a few times now but keeps coming back.
@@MUSHROOMSOUPBAND roughly where are you located?
Wow! Your 1st time experiencing a tropical storm?😳 I hope u got ur emergency water, batteries tin food, candles etc and put up storm shutters . Stay safe y'all!!
This weatherman explains this better than any other.
amazing reporting!!!! Thank you im watching this closely now i might be in the path of the leftovers of this. I just randomly caught this and havent paid attention to the weather much.
Keeping an eye out for all updates
This is a werid comment but I'm in Nova Scotia and scared...
Thank you for the details.
It is astonishing that the remnants of Fiona will interact with the S.W. of Greenland, and later possibly E. Ellesmere Island. Could that be a latitude record in the W. Atlantic and those straits?
I was watching Ryan Hall Y’all and he said it was a once in a lifetime event.
@@jenniferruth812 happened years ago but fall storms add ice to Greenland
If it hits Greenland, instead of rain, they get snowstorms.
Not once on a lifetime. It does happen
I called an old school friend in Halifax. He hopes it makes landfall at low tide.
This guy is great, thank you sir!
The hurricane that affected me most near Weston FL(Western Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood) was Wilma in 05. It followed the same course, made landfall near the Florida panhandle and then was driven back south by a powerful cold front. It was October 31st.
Excellent information
1:30 am and I can hear the shingles pulling off my roof. No power and the house is shaking. We live just west of Halifax NS
Hang in there stay safe
Quit bragging.
Wow what a forecast. Really telling us how things happen, what affects a track etc. Not like the forecast's we get where I'm from.
WOW...9.STORMS..LOVING IT....Hellllo..WINTER..❄️
🌍🌧🌎🌀🌏🌩
That’s a monster storm that’s going to hit our Canadian friends. Stay safe!
Wow. Good job Buddy! Thank you!!
I'm not sure that's how you calculate it . Is it like a vector addition ?
Watching this closely from Jamaica 🇯🇲 we are under a tropical storm watch 😊
Great report. Thanks!
You’re very good at your presentation. Thank you.
What a superb briefing, David Paul!!! I wish KHOU was a national station!!!!!!!
good job david, thanks.
Ian has formed
Florida girl here. Hurricanes are by definition storms of the tropics. How on earth to we get a Cat 3 hitting Nova Scotia? Where do they send their boats to keep those safe? That is their livelihood. How do we get the people safe - those are their lives! They are trained from birth to handle different kinds of weather dangers - hurricanes should not need to be one of them! Praying for all of those in the path of Fiona while she does some pretty crazy stuff.
However, fair play: looks like Florida is going to take a hit. I only pray that those that saw Matthew a few years ago don't get another direct hit: they are very much still recovering. Rebuilding a town from the ground up takes time.
i live in ns, cape breton is probably getting nailed right now especially the highland national park, but in kentville ns its not that bad, its pouring but the wind is blowing hard on and off, its not a steady wind , im pissed because i was hoping the power would go out in the industrial park so we could go home but noope...
I call BS on adding Fiona's storm speed to wind speed. Also he forgot to mention that if Ian hit's Florida's panhandle That coldfront will knock it down significantly.
Thank you, was looking for this comment. Excuse the pun, but the meteorologist was "blowing" it out of proportion.
As a resident of a Caribbean island, I feel for persons Way up north there in Canada who have probably never experienced a tropical storm like Fiona please take all precautions. Move to higher ground if u live somewhere that may get storm surges and stay safe folks. Godspeed!
Never ever heard of hurricane from Caribbean moving up to Canada.
Thorough af, also, how often do storms start in the Caribbean?
Thank you sir. I have family in Houston, Corpus Christi, TX 🇨🇱 and friends @ Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 I live in Colorado 🇺🇸
Thank you
@John-Paul Hunt ❤️
Awesome thank you.
A category 3, that far north? That's worrysome...
Well theres a cat 4 near that latitude but it was further away from canada and never made landfall
I think that hurricane Ella in 1978
Strength to the east coast and some of the best people I know
😮😢😢😢 please dont hit florida
I wish it would go out into the ocean and just die out completely that’s looking like it won’t happen.
thank you
This trajectory was spot on a week in advance
but it was way bigger and more powerful
I like him, he does not talk to fast. He is still intellectual and precise but he keep it simple for simpletons like me
Seeing this makes me thankful to live in the desert… please be safe out there everyone!
Ian is the name of my youngest son, who is 23. Even if nothing else gets him to pay attention to the weather, this certainly will.
He lives in Vancouver, Washington State, so he will not be affected by this.
However, he'll watch it anyway because his name's on it!
As someone in the Florida Pan handle. Now to stock up on supples and hope for the best.
Omg! THE DESTRUCTION WILL BE SEVERE. LOOK AT AT KNOCKOUT PUNCH. Dam FIONA.
If the water was cold like it should be this time of the year that would reduce its power , but the Oceans are warmer ,
much warmer.
Global Warming, due to human pollution, and human manufacturing, and vehicle emissions

Good luck with that one when God's pissed everybody is wise to duck.
Amen
Stop it ..
I'm in Nova Scotia eating storm chips
This looks similar to Hurricane Charley, 2004.
The wind speeds are not added to the speed of the eye, they are not measured relative to the moving center. This weatherman should know that.
Wow it is hitting Oak Island. Hope the brothers are OK up there looking for the treasure.
Greetings from Charlotte NC
Just how exactly does a storms forward movement speed somehow increase the overall windspeed? Never heard of that before from any meteorologist I wouldn't think that just because a storm is moving at 40+mph, that you take sustained winds of 125+ and just add on another 40mph..
Yes, forward speed added to wind speed matters. A fast moving storm can be higher cat than winds in storm indicate. Hurricane of 38 was cat 3 but forward speed added in made it devastating cat 5
I always thought it would hit colder water and break up, I didn't know powerful hurricanes hit Canada
stay safe, keep a eye on the weather.
Tampa...yall done up.
This guy is me if I where a weather man
Can we talk about the fact that Fiona is moving at 46MPH?? THAT FAST??
Bring it on!!
Is Fiona a "superstorm" like Sandy was? I don't mean is it comparable to Sandy, I mean is it the same type of storm, the same phenomenon of a hurricane combined with a nor'easter?
So good
Remember Our Videos Are Skits
It Wasn’t Really A Hurricane
Not really feeling this weatherman's vibe... I don't think he really knows what's going on. I think he needs sleep, or something. JMO. Stay safe y'all.
You’re a giant kook…this guy knows his shi#
Being here in the Florida panhandle.. and having gone through Michael.. the American model can piss off😭😤
What impact will Jacksonville have with both American and European models?
In cape Breton ATM gonna stay up all night, thought it going left woulda helped but I guess not..
Prince Edward Island very impacted, as well!
The best-
Update on fiona we still don't have power and it made landfall as mid to high category 2 and it is the lower pressure storm in Canadian history
Is that in America?
My Miami trip next week 😢😢
