- When the press is censored, students are detained, opposition is absent, and the country is going through a state of emergency...it is democracy that suffers.
When the Prime Minister considers himself as the ruler; any voice of dissent is crippled and fundamental rights are being denied.
We have seen throughout the course of history how an overbearing leader drunk on power and fame can take steps that lead to democratic upheaval. Not very far ago in history - we had the National Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi - question is - have we learnt anything from that lesson?

I have heard stories of emergency from my grandmother . She hates Indira Gandhi but after seeing present regime she has become less harsher towards Indira.
During emergency :- People got arrested when you spoke against government.
Today :- People get arrested when they speak against *COUNTRY* .
This fine difference made Indira gandhi ji loose the immediate election after emergency and made Modi ji win two consecutive election with overwhelming majority.

My father who was a in a government service during the Emergency period told me though it completely muted the opposition, it didn't affect the comman man in any way in fact the bureaucracy was given free hands to do their job (No MLA or MP influence), it didn't harm the then economy in anyway, I'm not justifying it in anyway but just want to say that it didn't impact the citizens life like today.

thank you for making this video! It reminded me that state has been able to scare most of us against peaceful protests. I think we need to learn to believe in the fact that no matter how draconian and rogue the state gets, the heads of fearless will keep rising until the state is transformed to the interest of masses in general. We need more and more fearless and determined citizens to come forward and express themselves, be it independently.

And about 2024, I can surely say, till there is RaGa nobody can stop BJP. May be some states will see congress govt due to state level leadership but not at the centre.
