This is a power supply, battery charger and footswitch for Roland V-Accordion FR-7 (and FR-7x). It did not power up, and had some sings of a previous repair attempt. The problem was traced to a dual rectifier diode on the secondary side of the power supply. After replacing the faulty component with a suitable equivalent the power supply seems to work properly.

I've a tendency to jump to a conclusion before getting all of the facts, a bad habit that can lead to longer repair times. I really need to work the problem and not guess... I have one of the power supplies with the blown diode at D3,but the pwm smd IC has blown its top off. I'm looking for the part number.

Sorry, no idea about the IC.

OK, some outputs test shorted.
Then you test across the diode in-circuit: 0.8 ohms. That would fool me to think that it is a slightly odd diode junction, not a short.

And please don't throw away the original FBC-7. Sell it on eBay or something. I am sure lots of people would love to have it for repair.
