Roland FR-7x Accordion, Beginning Tutorial #1: Making and Saving System Changes

Tutorial #1: How to Make and Save System Parameter Changes. This is a beginning tutorial on how to edit selected system and set parameters of the Roland FR-7x V-Accordion. I'm assuming almost no prior knowledge of the 7x in this video.

The second video demonstrates how to import/export sets, copy sets to different locations, and to restore factory sets.
The third video demonstrates how to make changes to registers--changing the treble, bass, and chord voices (orchestral and acoustic), including adding percussion effects, and saving those changes to a USB stick. www.youtube.com....
My ultimate aim is for owners to be able to "tweak" existing sets and to begin developing their own linked presets if they so choose. I use linked presets almost all of the time, and that will be my focus, especially in the third video.
This video is based on my own experiences with the 7x. Others would likely use different procedures.
I'm definitely NOT using high-powered equipment--just a camcorder taped to my homemade stand and very basic video editing software, so I make no pretensions of having a commercial product, just one that hopefully some 7x owners will find useful.
Please experiment freely with the system and reverb settings to maximize the 7x for your playing preferences. My settings are purely suggestions to help get you started.

If I understand your question, you are asking whether you can set things to the original if you make a programming error. Yes, you can. You can always do a factory reset for the accordion as a whole. You also can reset each of the 80 sets to the factory. Good practice is to copy a set to an empty space to work on it, and you then always have the original.

Thanks, this is great. One thing about the fr7x manual, if your not a computer programmer your in trouble. Richard your prsentation is excellent. I don't know how true it is but I heard that one owner of a fr7x was selling his Roland because it was to confusing. Thanks again Richard.

OMG I was thinking about getting a Roland, but after this demonstration (the space shuttle is probably less complicated!!) I am definitely having second thoughts. Greg Klugiewicz

Fortunately, as with many things, demonstrating the procedures can take longer than doing the process itself. The demo makes sense only if you have the instrument in front of you. Each Roland v-accordion has a variety of menus that provide the ability to change numerous settings. Once those are selected, you seldom need to re-enter those menus. It is amazingly easy to play, once the programming is done by you or someone else, and the sounds are marvelous,
