Hello Dale. I really enjoy your playing thank you for sharing your art. I have a question. I recently acquired a Roland fr-7 just like yours. Some keys are now working. I have watched some videos of people cleaning the key contacts (carbon contacts) with alcohol and q tips. Have you come across this problem? And how would you go about it sir? Thank you for your video and loved your playing. I have the same color FR7 (2006) Same Keys and bass are giving me issues... they don't sound all the time. I suspect it's contacts. Have you ever had to adjust or fix contacts? I live in Madeira Island-Portugal . I'd appreciate your help and or advice. Can you help me.
The contacts are rubber bumper type. They can get corroded or dirty. You have two choices, both require dismantling the accordion to access the contacts. You can try cleaning the contact points with an eraser, or replace the contact.
Pleas my friend. I am from Brasil. I have a Roland Fr3x, and I have a problem with it When I turn on it, the Display only stay Flashing Fr3 and nothing more work. Can you help me to know what is the problem with the instrument ? Thank you...

Hi. nice that you could fix it. I have the exactly same model and I wonder if you edit sounds for it as well since this model do not accept expansions. Do you sell the parameters you use or something? Like what reed types and their volume are you using for the sounds sets you have?
I have mentioned in other videos that I did not use this accordion for a year when I first purchased it because I did not like how it sounded or played, then I learned to use the built-in editor. It took me several years to come up with the sounds I currently use. However, I use this accordion when I play with a tuba player. The accordion is not amplified for this strolling job so everything is voiced loud and bright. I use my FR-8x for my solo gigs because the tone quality is better than that of the FR-7. Sorry, I do not sell anything. All of my voicing work is done on the 3x, 4x, and 8x for the instruments sold by Crown Music.
Thanks for the information, I am a subscriber of your channel, but I did not see that video, I am trying to get better sounds for the FR7 using the internal editor, but I do have much knowledge yet so I am trying to get any tips I can. Unfortunately I live very far away from the store since I live in Brazil.

I am not a tech, but I have watched my tech use that solution. It does not always work. In that case you just have to replace the contact strips.

Sorry, i do not know the cost of the part. That was several years ago when I did that repair - and Roland may have sent it to me as a warranty repair.

Take it to an authorized Roland Service center in your country.
Dave I have a problem with my Left (Mono) output jack. Is there a website that lists the FR7X parts. I can't find one online.
No public web site that I am aware of. You will have to go through the RolandUS service center network.
