@@AdhamOhm I think the soldier was a psycho, not a regular man in uniform, and as he was a National Guard, rather than a full time soldier, he suddenly found himself on a power trip and being able to kill at random. Also he was a rapist, which made him doubly dangerous.

WIGS ! i always thought crazy soldier wore a curly wig at work TO HIDE his short military hair cut, but this scene seems to suggest it's the other way round ( here in England, the shot of him dead without wig isn't always shown on TV) i wondered if the scene had an error made in filming ? Jody says ' a lot of guys with OVER regulation hair wear them ( short wig over long hair ?) or should the line have been 'a lot of guys WITH regulation hair wear them ( meaning long wig over short hair ?) Surely the crazy soldier character would be into short hair ?

Kind of ironic that George's co-stars from his movies Victoria Principal (Earthquake) and Priscilla Presley (The Naked Gun) would be fighting for the affection of Bobby Ewing on Dallas before George joined the show. Too bad that Victoria and Priscilla left Dallas by the time that George was cast as Carter Mackay on the show years later.
