I mean there are. It’s a city of millions. You just need 40 years of hindsight to recognize them and say “if only we had men like that today”. Just give it a few decades
@@AdhamOhm I think the soldier was a psycho, not a regular man in uniform, and as he was a National Guard, rather than a full time soldier, he suddenly found himself on a power trip and being able to kill at random. Also he was a rapist, which made him doubly dangerous.

WIGS ! i always thought crazy soldier wore a curly wig at work TO HIDE his short military hair cut, but this scene seems to suggest it's the other way round ( here in England, the shot of him dead without wig isn't always shown on TV) i wondered if the scene had an error made in filming ? Jody says ' a lot of guys with OVER regulation hair wear them ( short wig over long hair ?) or should the line have been 'a lot of guys WITH regulation hair wear them ( meaning long wig over short hair ?) Surely the crazy soldier character would be into short hair ?
you mean he's an undercover federal agent? 🤣 at this point 90% of these "proudboys" are just multiple 3 letter agencies reporting on each other unknowingly 😂 or you can put on your tinfoil hat and decide that they are doing it 100% knowingly to cause controlled chaos to push agendas 🤔🤫
Kind of ironic that George's co-stars from his movies Victoria Principal (Earthquake) and Priscilla Presley (The Naked Gun) would be fighting for the affection of Bobby Ewing on Dallas before George joined the show. Too bad that Victoria and Priscilla left Dallas by the time that George was cast as Carter Mackay on the show years later.
@@azmrblack what??? Well I thought the truck style changed In 88 and ran through what 98 or 2000? The blazer ran on different years for body style change?
Soldier that is lack of discipline and self-control. Soldiers like him are also part of the problem that made other American soldiers look bad in Vietnam.
@@dallasyap3064 I'm not disagreeing, but as far as I can recall, in the movie this character is a reservist, not a professional or full-time soldier (hence the haircut). He works as a store clerk but gets called up to help secure the city, and it goes to his head. Or something like that.
Interesting part there for Marjoe Gortner. A hard core Christian Evangelist since childhood turned (part time) actor landing the part of an Army psycho rapist. Ok....
You have earned a major achievement in life, and no one can take it away from you. Absolutely remarkable. I have been trying to achieve something my whole life--yet I still have nothing. I am envious of you.

Bro plenty of them did it in Iraq. Hence the whistle blowers.
R.I.P George Kennedy and Charlton Heston.
Amen!
Ah, if only Los Angeles had men like Charlton Heston and George Kennedy today.
Ah 😩.....how true!! Not many Men like them anymore!!

To stop US soldiers on a power trip? Hell yes.
You’re so right

George Kennedy was a good actor
Yup. An Oscar winner.
He was awesome in the Naked Gun movies
I agree
2:31 I like how his arms convulse when he gets shot and falls to the ground. It's like the devil is literally trying to escape his body.
It’s funny because it’s Marjoe Gortner
When the wig flew off, that was the "chefs kiss"..
RIP Chuck Heston & George Kennedy - LEGENDS!
Captain Ed Hocken and Lieutenant Frank Drebin, have both retired the force and are currently hanging out together in Heaven.
Aye, one of my favourites. This, The Towering Inferno, Poseidon Adventure, Dante’s Peak, 2012, Knowing… amongst others 💙 💭
Threads, the Day After(nuclear war), and Defcon 4! And don't forget The Postman, and By Dawn's Early Light.
@@justdustino1371 Threads was pretty chilling, I saw it again just recently. Excellent production, but really, really bleak. As it should be.
This, Towering Inferno, and Poseidon Adventure all have John Williams soundtracks (though I doubt you care)
Airport saga, Twister, Volcano, Independence Day, Armageddon, Deep Impact, Daylight, K-19, etc, anothers great disaster movies.
@@justdustino1371 Also for got to mention Damnation Alley 1977.
Marjoe looking like Wooderson from Dazed & Confused..Also, I dug that K5 Heston drove, pretty awesome ride..
When disaster strikes, one can always count on Joe Patroni!🙂
I was 9 when this came out and I wanted Victoria Principal too.
My first Wife looked like her.
Funny how the Psycho soldier was once an evangelical con preacher, then broke away from it out of guilt. Good job, Marjoe.
He'd had experience as a fiction actor from age 4.
I remember that too!
Officer Ed Hocken in his younger years!
Jody's mind most certainly went around the Bin !! Thanks for the upload !! This is a good movie..But at the same time very depressing !!
2:41 Looks like Jody had toupee for his crimes…….😂😂
I always laugh when the soldier gets shot how he's moving his arms.
George Kennedy was an amazing actor.
Soldiers like him is also what made other American soldiers in Vietnam look bad.
The military is full of those like him now days 😩.....(some good ones too, of course)!!
I wonder if Victoria's topless scene still exists i think it ended up on the cutting room floor?
I'm gonna need to see that floor just to make sure 🤣
@@berryreading4809, that would be a sticky floor.

Ah the seventies! Bad guys fall like crazy puppets when shot
2:24. Amazing how getting shot can help your hair grow.
He was wearing a wig to cover up his afro..
After shooting the soldier...
Captain Ed Hocken: "If I'm going out, I'm going out happy!"
(Proceeds to make out with her)
I actually heard some soldiers in the National Guard actually did wear wigs to hide their long hair.

old classic movie love the start of it with the police chase
George Kennedy is always landing himself in the middle a disaster. LOL. Great actor, though! He plays awesome characters. :)
Yeah honestly, can't think of anyone who could play George Kennedy today.
Cop wins.
He isn't so a cop, he is Ed Hocken and a hero! 😉
I stood in line 3 hrs at the mall to see this movie..we took turns getting something to drink..surround was added
A court martial would be a merciful punishment, Jody....
Can't believe I've never seen this movie
Victoria and George never met in Dallas.
I just watched the movie, and I couldn't believe how much that creepy character sounds like that creep Ted Cruz.
George gets the gal and the handful, lucky George!
That was a dam good looker for her day
im so used to seeing him in police squad i cant take him seriously as a cop here lol
Get this, during WWII George Kennedy was also an Army officer and aide to General Patton, whom he played later in another movie.

Another Hollywood movie in which fire did not create any smoke at all.
Interesting note to ponder. Buildings fully engulfed in flames. But not consumed 🤔😂.
Captain Ed from Police Squad!!!
