This is such a fanservice for all starship troopers fan. We get all types of units from films and the novel itself. Pretty fun game.
The only thing missing were callbacks to the CGI TV show.

I love how the game was able to mash the entire franchise worth of units into a single game
only missed the 3d animated series, but the Animated movie troopers sort of make up for that.
Still its a campy enjoyable franchise and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Now if I could only have the marauder suits from the first animated movie and some of the units and weapons from the animated series, I would be a very happy camper.
This would allow the bugs to have flying units too sort of evening the playing field.

@@noahpuli4887 roughnecks chronicles yes they missed that but I assume the powersuits from the anime movies were the better choice over the orgial animated series.

I have never felt such patriotism for a fictional nation before, and it's amazing.

If you use console commands during any of the missions it spawns 3x the normal amount of bugs in the level. Really gets that movie feel in some of the later missions, also makes you really really hate scorpion bugs

@@larryfoullke219 yup, type in supply 100 and it will trigger the bugs to spawn like crazy. It does give you the chance to spawn in as many units as you want but it's still pretty challenging especially in the later levels

@@ianmoone7041 That's because the bugs have a supply system of their own under the hood, and the "supply X" console command changes the limits for both sides.
That explains why my frame rate dropped to 15FPS. Over half of the map was covered in scorpion and regular bugs.
The world needs more Starship Troopers games.
We need a remake of that fps Starship troopers game (the one where you have a talking grenade)

I'm really glad they added all the different types of units seen in the movies, both the live action and CGI movies. The regular troopers, laser troopers, and marauders from the live action movies and the power armor troopers from the CGI movies.
.....The CGI sequels were better than the live action sequels xD

You really got me when those tiny little bug exterminating guardsmen yelled at 2:40 "Marine squad deployed" in a spaise mureen's voice. Absolutely hilarious. Praise the Omnissiah
They're Fleet marines you can call in with a Liaison. Essentially they're just mildly better, but heavily overcosted veteran MI squads. The idea being that you can call them down right on the frontline if you lose a bunch of squads mid-fight and need emergency reinforcements. Then you dismiss them again afterwards because they're not really worth their cost long-term.
Will never get tired of the inclusion of Captain Alex Tiger Mafia dialogue in all of these tributes.. xD

the only good/great RTS since dawn of war 2 and first one to innovate in a while. Sadly only a couple of scenarios and no survival horde mode or a roguelite mode which would really add longevity to it. Has its problems mainly with unit responsiveness and bugs related to tunnel clearing but its so fun that you forget about it often, the only really annoying thing is that the devs seemingly swapped the s HP for tanker and scorpion bugs which leads to them being utterly insane while tankers are weak AF
The devs said they were adding a survival mode later, but yeah, it's a really cool game that just lacks a few things to be truely great. Hope they do a sequel.

I preordered the game and when I got it I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, both gameplay and story wise
My first play through I thought these bugs ain't gonna escape the wrath of 7TP. That was a lie I didn't think anything at all.
Another amazing job. This time I haven't even played the game but I still loved it. (To be fair, already a big fan of the book and the movie.)
@IntrepidTit Most people are too dumb to understand either of them. The book has its merits and the movie is accidentally great because the director didn't read the book and thus wasn't really aware enough to ruin it like he wanted to.
@Nate G. He also was a decent movie director regardless of his stupid politics, and generally speaking anti-war sentiments have a lot of good in them. It just happens to be misplaced because whether you take it literally (non-human alien monsters) or figuratively (communists) both are great evils that need to be opposed.

This (2023) is good year for Starship Troopers fans. Last year we got decent and fun RTS, this year were getting suprisingly fun FPS. Now all we need to perfection is dating sim.
