I have two Maico 700 supermoto and enduro. My supermoto is tuned to 98hp. It is so much fun but vibration is really bad. Maico 700cc is bit different engine than zabel 700cc. Maico 700cc hewa power has reed block in the cylinder and zabel is case reed valve. Ports are also different and Maico 700cc is 5 speed and zabel 4 speed. So maico engine is better for mx bike. Greetings from Finland!
Its a mystery for me how you only have 15k subs, 150k would be more reasonable but still low. All I can say is keep doing what you do, you always have top quality content bro!
Nice video, a few things: 1. At 4:38, that's a 250 piston not a CR500. 2. All videos labeled as Canal ID are actually me. 3. The bike is very easy to start, prime it, TDC, use compression release half way. The video of me looking like I have trouble kicking it was to show the compression of trying to kick it without the compression release. 4. While the Zabel does have the same bolt pattern, at least the newer Z29 engines have a 13mm instead of 12mm, so the bolt holes have to be enlarged on the frame and the swingarm bolt also needs to be thicker so you have to put in spacers. The last issue with the frame is that the case induction puts the carb too low for the stock airbox and actually directs the carb into the shock, so you have to take care of that. Most Zabel engines in Maico frames are Pre-Z29 without case induction. 5. Canadian Maico went to court and lost. Eric Cook of Maico Only actually had bought the rights to US Maico and he let it expire because he is not enforcing any trademark. SoCal Maico had a letter from Eric in court Fix up EDIT: Everyone lost in court. They didn't get the trademark canceled. However, CM was overstepping their boundaries, just because you buy a picture and trademark it for $300 doesn't mean you own the entire history of a company or the name itself, which he was claiming. So CM also lost his lawsuit. he can't tell people they can't sell maico parts, he just has the logo, not ownership rights of the company. So everyone can still sell maico parts, use the maico name, etc.
Thanks for the clarifications, and sorry for the miss-labeling. Maybe the website that showed the Maico trademark ownership was out of date, but basically ... did the canadian company actually loose the trademark? I knew they couldn’t enforce it on the parts suppliers, but I didn’t know if they still technically had it.
@@KRANKiT They tried to cancel it and looks like they were unsuccessful. ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?pno=92058956&pty=CAN&eno=5&mode=frame There was a lot to it, it was more than just the trademark, so I should have been more clear there. The problem was that he was stating because he owned the trademark, he now owned Maico as a company outright and he was asking anyone using the Maico name or selling Maico parts to pay him. So there were several lawsuits, Eric Cook had one, Gary had one and Canadian Maico had one against Gary. The lawsuit from Canadian Maico to Gary went as far as to say he had to remove the Maico sticker from the back of his truck window. CM was looking to sell the company and though this brought more value. So, that lawsuit that was against Gary was dropped, he can sell Maico parts without having to pay CM royalties. It also said that having the name Maico in socalmaico's website was infringement, selling counterfeit parts, etc. So, that lawsuit they did win; CM doesn't have a monopoly on Maico parts that he was trying to do. I have deal with him once in the past, he is shady and I would not deal with him for anything.
I would love to be able to sit down and just talk to you. I'm sure you have stories that need to live on for many years. I only got to ride one of these bikes once and it was an amazing bike. No. Canadian Maico doesn't own the maico trademark. It's a fan company that owns the name. Canadian Maico just own the old logo seen on the old aluminium tanks. What happened to the original Maico and company, appears to be what’s happening to KTM. Cooperate greed, and sub par machinery.
