Korone is surprising quick witted in english, she lacks the languange expertise but she more than make it up with being super expressive either way. She makes stuff up on the fly that just get's the point across.
Korone is just a natural-born entertainer! She gave us so many classics like "Water in the fire," "Small turtle house," and, of course, "I'm die, thank you forever." It's a mystery how her mind works, but it's surely a wondrous mystery!
Also, I don't mean to be a grammar Nazi, but it's "gets" and not "get's." 😌
It's impressive that she swears in English, too. Usually, when in a high stress/emotional situation, you revert to your first language (like Raora in a horror game), but it's pretty jarring (in a good way) to hear the FAQ come out of her mouth. 🤣😂

Yeah, I started watching Hololive back before Holo EN existed, and I loved that Korone could still make me laugh through a language barrier.
I think Korone understands alot better then she can speak it. There was that one time Kiara spoke an entire sentence in English to her and asked her to translate it into Japanese and Korone did it with no problem

Holo X as a whole seems to have the most english proficiency. Laplus wasn't mentioned but her english interactions during the GTA event were golden.

She picks up words pretty quick and has really good pronunciation. I remember she had a collab with Ame and an ID a few years ago and she did pretty well at understanding and getting her point across
I think that Iroha (and I guess Kanade too from this video) is very good at reading English out loud, quite fast pace and great pronunciation, but not as good when having conversation spontaneously. Her English is still quite good overall, but she's quite shy and nervous when talking to other people in general (even in Japanese) so that might lower her confidence in her English skill.
Iroha studied abroad in UK iirc. She retained some of that natural speaking rhythm from those irl interactions.

@@M3GUMiiiunrelated to the joke but I just found out kobo sang in 5 different languages. Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English, Indonesian. I don't think she can communicate well in Chinese and Korean but her pronunciation is pretty dang good
Its wild, everyone else's English is the "Passion English" where it is clearly more picked up from media and learning from talking with English speakers, but Iroha is so formal and fluent. Like it seems like she might have actually gone to a professional tutor because she even has the pronunciation and pacing right, and there is none of the Japanese traits like pronouncing silent vowels. It's genuinely really impressive.
Edit: Just got to the Kanade clip. She is EN and you can't convince me otherwise.
Apparently, Iroha studied abroad in the United Kingdom, so that would explain her fluency.
Sora's english is pretty good so I don't think she should be an honorable mention.
Kanade's a bit of a paradox. She has some of the best pronunciation but her actual english comprehension skills are some of the worst.
I mean, Kanade doesn't have the same pronunciation issues as the Japanese members, so it makes sense. English is especially hard to pronounce for Japanese, I think it's not quite as bad for Koreans.
Good Pronunciation is a skill singers seem to have.
Another example is Suisei who's pretty open about not being very good at English but still has some of the best pronunciation in JP (There clips of her unarchived English karaoke from ages ago, but she sounds really good).
From the opposite direction the example is Gura who isn't that good at Japanese but can still easily and clearly sing fully Japanese songs.
Uranus as "your anus" is pure English pronunciation yet few realize that the name is actually Latin and the Japanese pronunciation is way closer to the original, being completely the same if you minus the final "u" in "Uranusu".
Iroha was really impressive! Never heard her speak English before so it took me a bit off guard ^^
