Hej Dav, just putting it out there, you can do a Baldurs Gate 1 tutorial, like breakedown of thing you do fitst at the start of the game and whats your strat, to get spells. Justl like you did your other guides
It's simple. You can get to a decent level by doing the quests that are distributed among the entire map. But if you do that, you're probably not playing "ironman" -this being when the MC dies, the run is over. Alternatively you go to the eastern edge of the map, to a certain location. Then use the ghoul there or Tiax's ghast (if you're playing with mods) to kill the basilisks and then the gnome for good measure. Basilisks are the monster that gives the most experience -1400 for a lesser one and 7000 for a greater one. You'll die within seconds of meeting one, but fortunately, there's a Level 1 Mage spell that prevents that. With some basilisk cheese, the basilisks from Durlag's Tower, the main quest and some other exp pumps, you're set. Other famous exp farms include the ankhegs (and it's literally a farm), and the sirines or mermaids.
About treasure, there are some treasure piles, conveniently hidden. I wouldn't want to take the joy of exploring this map out of you, I wish I could experience it for the first time. There you'll find some powerful shit like Wands of Paralyzation and Wands of Fire. Wand of Fire trivializes encounters with enemy mages and enemy parties, while it lasts. In the latter part of the game, it will be easy to get both of these as well as Wand of Monster Summoning, a must for the endgame.
These smaller clips featuring hard battles are great content for us who don't always have the time to check the stream.
