I think it's only fair to let a truck around you and back into the right lane when they're courteous enough to move over and allow you to merge into traffic. Even if it is a slower truck.

@@bblazeff1 Theses standard trucks you see in the USA don't have blind spots as far as I've seen.
Even if I'm in a company truck, this is the kind of driver I strive to be. Smooth, alert about everything, and defensive. True professional right there.

Right on! If you're making people move erratically it's on you. You blend and know what's around you, what's coming up on you (especially the blind side) and what's way down the road in front of you. I trained drivers, I told them. this is your river all the vehicles are rocks. you are a leaf. your job is to smoothly flow in around those rocks like the leaf in the river.

@Roberto Paz ??? Automatic are garbage. I road a new automatic Peterbilt and that thing is slow and rough to reverse. 2006 manual Volvo is what makes a huge difference on my working hours.

Love the 18 speed. In my opinion one of the best transmissions out there as far as ease of operation, very forgiving and fun to drive. Better to have all them gears and not need them than to need them and not have them
I drive heavy haul with a EF 18spd and I can't understand how people drive a 13/15spd with heavy loads, so much stress on them gears

Good to see a driver who can still handle the gears I grew up on driving 5 sp main box with a 4sp brownie 13sp fuller road ranger 15 sp over with a deep under on the splitter, and the 18 sp which is now the best all around transmission on the market, good for over the road off road heavy hauls and anything else,

No we aren't, the majority of drivers today are sheep, low paid slobs who drive automatic transmissions. Most of the drivers think flip flops, pajama pants and a fat stomach hanging out of their shirt is "professional" attire.

I have never driven anything nearly this complex and I don't know how you call out gears but looks like start in 1, then 1 split, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5 split, 6, 6 split, 7, 7 split, 8, and finally 8 split. 12 shifts, all the while paying attention to everything around him. A lot to keep track of.
