one of the better videos on here, thank you for that
Thank you for watching, Ronzbee… we appreciate the shout out!
I love my GTRXD40!! Like you said, i wish had trim switch on back for trailering bracket… and I wish had more power in reverse.
We agree, speculizer1971… thank you for watching and both comments.
Great review. Thinking about buying one. Does the tiller handle fold up on these things? If I have a dude that wants to fish the back deck of my boat, is he going to be fighting the handle the entire time? Would be sold if the handle folds up out of the way. Thanks.
Hey, Holden… yes, the back handle flips up vertically 90 degrees. Most surface drive motors do to allow kick up when running. Thanks again for watching.
Outdated technology but I really like it for my vanguard.
Thank you for watching…
Just got my new 40 put on my 1754 gt boat. Had a 35 with stage one. I haven't ran it yet but cant wait. The trim that gatortail uses can only have one controller. I have been trying to put two on mine for years but after many calls to gatortail and some experimenting with boat shops that said they could do it there can only be one trim control.
Shane Hussong thanks for the reply... maybe Gatortail folks can work that out. Send us some pics when you get that nice rig rolln’-you’re gonna love it
You may not see this, but what makes a motor a stage 1,2,3 etc..
Love the set up!
Thank you for watching!
Np brotha! How many people do you usually carry on with you?
@@crawford9550 usually me and 2 buddies... with a load that’s about all she wants to get up on plane.
Hoping to pick up my 1750 with the GTR 40hp this week sometime. Good review
Florida Project you’ll love it...
WKY Blue-Collar Outdoors You are correct. It’s awesome. A lot better than my old long tail with carb motor.
Florida Project Thanks for watching our review... we appreciate you sharing.
Always nice to get a new toy. Here’s to all the working guys trying to get a little fun in.
Is their alot of torque adjustment like a outboard while you steer and is their much vibration from the tiller control?
khristopher bourque there is almost no vibration, but it’s pretty stiff turning at full throttle. The GTR has a lot less vibration than the Mud Buddy’s I have driven. Thanks for the questions, hope this helps.
@@wkyblue-collaroutdoors2152 yes very much so thanks.
I'm a west KY guy myself! Do you feel like the mud motor is a must have over the original outboard? Just been trying to decide on my purchase decision! Thanks!
Hey, Shooter… what we focus on is specific hunting/fishing terrain. Do a self-check on what your specific needs are to be able to get where you need to go. Both outboards and surface drives have pros and cons. Chose what is best for your situation in order to get where you need to be. Thanks for watching.
Look at it this way my friend…. You can do it all with that surface drive!! That’s the way I look at it.
Soy de Argentina y eh buscado sus artículos por armazón y no los encuentro podrían mandar la páginas donde pueda conseguir sus productos gracias y saludos desde Argentina
Here is the link for their website... Argentina is certainly a dream hunt for any waterfowl hunter... thanks for watching.

What’s the speed difference between 35 and 40?
We have not tested a 35 on our Prodigy 1854… however, what we can say is with 2 hunters, dog and gear, the GTR XD 40 pushes our Prodigy 30 mph. Thanks for watching.
@@wkyblue-collaroutdoors2152 I have the older GTR marine cdi 35 fully stock on an Xpress bayou 18/52 (maybe 54 I cant remember I got it from a buddy). granted its low hours but old and a heavy boat but I top out solo at 25 and it runs a little better with another person or some gear as a load but still about 26 in perfect wind and water conditions. A lot of times when we pile in with guns and blind bags we're pushing like 18-22 and have buddies with 3 or 4 people in 40xds go zooming past us. The 35 3 blade will go through anything though once on plane if you hit shallow water or no water but once you stop it wont jump up like the 40s and I've done a lot of dragging to deeper water. Boat weight and size does play a factor though. In short, the 40xd's are worth the extra money by a country mile.
Thanks for the testimony, Force… the XD has been a good one for us
@@wkyblue-collaroutdoors2152 No thank you for the video. I've seen enough around my parts to know the 40 is what I need to be saving for but I love seeing people running different motors in different areas as they have gotten so good in recent years with making them more adaptable to a wider range of conditions than just south Louisiana gumbo mud. Keep up the good work brother.

A lot of times it's the hull.Gtrs run best on gator tail hulls,or just a true flat bottom.
I have an extreme 1754 with a 40xd and it can carry 3 people boat full of decoys and 16 gallons of gas 32.9.
We still have a 2012 35 carb gator tail that's on a 15ft custom hull and by yourself there's no difference in speed between the two.Now when you put 3 people in that boat it would barely run 27.
what a man
Lol… Thanks for watching
@@wkyblue-collaroutdoors2152 sure thing. I plan on watching a lot.
