So I just finished my rat and it came out perfect. Everything about your tutorial was great. You explained and showed exactly what you were doing so well. It was at the perfect speed and I loved how you showed all the rows that were consistent on one page so it made it so easy to follow and made it faster. Thanks so much 🥰
That rat humbled me so much. I don't know what I did wrong, I'm usually good at following patterns 😂 but my rat has had way too many beers and has developed a beer-gut. Still pretty cute! I'll try again soon :D and thank you for the pattern!
because she explained the steps poorly. for example the stem crochet part (10:46) she didnt clarify that the next stich after the single crochet is supposed to be on the finishing stitch of the sc. combining with the poor video quality it was so hard to follow up. I also struggled so much following up, ended up redoing and redoing to figure it out myself

@@secuestramichis5567 thank you so much now I'm dealing with her sister being depressed. Willow has never been away from her sister since they were born. It's been tough lately.
I'm so sorry to hear this. My daughter started with four rats. We are down the one now and he is just going strong... over two years old now, so senior for a rat. I cried so much when the others crossed the rainbow bridge, one of them at the vet while having his lungs exrayed... the vet brought him back with the news that he had just taken his last breath... and i just burst our crying - it hit me by surprise. @@SuzanneCrawford-xy1eg yeah my baby girl Fawn had a mass start growing rapidly on her, she was about 2 months pass her 3rd birthday. I took her to the vet and they said it was cancer. I LOVE THIS PATTERN!!!!! I have made this rat Abt 5 times, I've given them to friends and family and everyone loves them. This pattern is literally a Godsend
To people who might struggle with it: 10:46 row 10: about the fpsc, it starts with the *bridge* connecting the loop of the previous sc with the next loop. 14:58 row 20: 3 in 1 means an increase of 3, not making 3 stitches as one.
super adorable, and I cannot overstate how much I *love* that you incorporated the ears, arms, and legs into the rounds rather than sewing them on later! I hate sewing!!! thanks for making this so easy to follow.
You are a LIFESAVER! My sister and I have two rats- and she LOVES them! I have been learning how to crochet for around 3 weeks- and have been practicing every day. First- I saw this video and thought it would be very hard- but now watching it I know all the stitches so I think I’m confident enough to make it for my sister for Valentine’s Day! If it works out- I know she will love it! I’m definitely buying the pattern on Etsy ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for making this video!!
I just did this, and my rat turned out super cute! Thank you for the pattern. I gave it a little heart to hold. Two points that I have noticed: Row 23, attaching the feet: The feet were slightly turned to one side in relation to the rest of the body, making it look like the rat was turning away its upper body. I ended up doing only 4 sc before attaching the first foot, and left out the other 2 sc entirely. this means the row is shorter than the last one and my pattern has 2 sc less in total, but the feet are now in the right place. I continued following the pattern as given in the next row. The tail: For some reason, I couldn't get the turn right at all. It just made the tail look bulky in that place, but didn't bend it. I ended up crocheting a straight tail, then made it bend by using the sewing needle to insert another thread on one side of it and pulling it tighter on that side. It does bend now, and doesn't look bulky. The additional thread is not noticeable (I used the same pink thread obviously). Thank you, this was fun to make!
So cute!! My friend likes Remy from Ratatouille so I'm planning to make this as a gift. Reminds me of the scene when Remy eats the strawberry! Thank you for the video!
That is literally why I'm here 😂 she sent me a video of someone who made one, then put it on a headband and has hair clips on the hands so the rat can 'hold' your hair.

Absolutely love this! Your videos are so clear and easy to follow and read. Im not good at sewing on details like the nose after so i started the head with magic ring of 3 (pink) then did increases in each stitch (white) which gave me a cute little pointy nose 😊 Does anyone have any idea how i can make the tail more like a corkscrew/spiral shape?
I love this pattern! i used this pattern plus your fidget slug pattern for inspo to make a "Meat rat"! it is solid coral color but has a white "bone tail" that can move! im currently adding spikes to him :)
Why is my rats head so offly tilted? Instead of tilting down it tilts to the side making it look wierd . This happened before. I managed to salvage it but now he has a hunched back . Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this in the future ?
I may be misinterpreting the instructions, but you’re not placing the stitch marker in the exact same spot for both ears right? You said one stitch after the finish off but when both ears were placed down 8:03 one had a stitch after the finish off and the other had it on the stitch before the finish off. Are they meant to mirror each other?
I am usually skeptical with understanding someone instructions when they are new to me. This was very easy to follow and I absolutely love that the pieces are sewn in as you go! For me, assembly is always the worst part. This was fun to do. I will check out your other stuff. :) Thanks!
im gonna tell u now that mine that i made was completely horrifying😭 his head was like weirdly tilted i rlly don’t know what i did wrong but my friend loved him for her birthday gift
i only had worsted weight yarn (10 ply/aran) but this pattern still worked very well, i just ended up using a 4.5mm hook and got a slightly larger rat, i only had really tiny eyes though so my rat looks a little silly but still very cute
Have you ever thought to 'embroider' or 'stitch' on eyes and a nose... making the toy also safer for babies and or animals i guess. the eyes and nose can then not be 'bitten off' - I used a 'french not' with some wool and made eyes for my rat, as I have no eyes and noses but wanted to make the animal, it turned out okay actually.
I’m fairly certain that you’re a yarn wizard. lol It looks like you work pretty loose, but the finished products don’t look that way at all. I’m baffled how you work magic rings less than 6 stitches because all of mine look like a hot mess of a ball. I have zero clue how you can hold your tension finger in that curl for so long without issue. As I said, you’re clearly a wizard. 😂 You’re so inspirational! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent! I hope to level up to wizard one day.
something went wrong in row 16, in the last row i did everything right and had 19 stitches, but in row 16 in the end i had 2 stitches left! what do i do?
thanks for this tutorial! i am planning to make this into those ratatoullie headband things to match with my bestie, but i will edit this comment for updates (whether im able to do it or not, and how the result is if i finish).
Rat is cute as hell, made one with denim blue, and pink. Its so cute. But daym that pattern notation. Not dogging ya much here, cus everyone writes it in their own way, and it just took me twelve tries to get right. Kidding just 2. But those front paws are hella hard, and id say bulk it up to five, and if you want/can add a decrease on the wrist then rounds to the 8 loops.
I've tried this pattern on multiple occasions and I just cant figure out why it never turns out right. It's always around the neck area, I end up somehow putting the arms on the belly and back and the nose is always rounded. Please help, I don't know what I'm doing wrong :(
Im so happy you have the instructions listed and highlighted at what point you're at, made it so much easier

I just found this video and I’m gonna make one for my grandma..gonna add my mouse holding a timtam because it’s her fav treat 🩵
The arms and toes almost gave me a hand cramp 😭😭
Great video & pattern. Can't wait to make him❤️
Thank you for sharing.
i only had worsted weight yarn (10 ply/aran) but this pattern still worked very well, i just ended up using a 4.5mm hook and got a slightly larger rat, i only had really tiny eyes though so my rat looks a little silly but still very cute
@@SuzanneCrawford-xy1eg I hadn't thought of that, I'll try it next time I make something, thank you!
Oh my gatos!!!! My rat came out so cute!!!! Thank you!!!!!!😊❤
So cute. I'm positive you can make any critter lovable and adorable.🖒❤🐁
thanks for this tutorial! i am planning to make this into those ratatoullie headband things to match with my bestie, but i will edit this comment for updates (whether im able to do it or not, and how the result is if i finish).
he looks so proud of his little strawberry 🐀🍓
I made one and it’s really cute even though I made one arm a little bit bigger 😊
Please help, I don't know what I'm doing wrong :(
Omgosh this is like the cutest ever!
