The fact that this could’ve been avoided and more profitable if the once-ler just cut the thneeds off the trees and left them in the ground is wild to me
I love how 2012 The Lorax couldn't have been a worse adaptation. Dr. Seuss book/ 1972 movie try to express how the Once-ler is not an "person", it's a company. That's why he is never represented fully, and only his hands, because he hasn't a personality, he only thinks and works for money, and biggering. Talking about Biggering, giant mistake of Ilumination to cut this song out of the movie. Now, on the 2012 adaptation, they made everything look more kid-friendly, giving the Once-Ler a personality and even making him likable, because of 2 little factors: -This would make a big Self-Critic -merch 2 things that the original story tries to criticise. Also the side story with the seed thing was just a giant meme.
4:22 That part is really good. The images flashes to give you a wide idea of everything the Once-Ler is doing to keep is business growing, while the environment is getting completely destroyed.
biggering gives us a villain who knows what he's doing. it gives us a villain who doesn't care. it mimics billionaires and corporations who own sweatshops, who underpay their workers, who pollute the air and the ground and want to build fucking factory towns to expand their operations. they don't care who they have to step on, who they have to destroy, to get on top. in a film where biggering is his theme, this is the onceler. how bad can i be gives us a villain who honestly doesn't get it. he's deluding the public (with lines like "a portion of proceeds go to charity"), but he's also deluding himself. we see a man who's corrupting himself with greed and doesn't realize it until it's too late. the lyrics would be more powerful if it had a similar tune to this song, but it's vaguely reminiscent of modern pop and doesn't pack nearly the same punch -- and since the song grows gradually darker, we still get that idea that he just really, really doesn't _get it._ we deserved a film that told billionaires to go shove it. what we got was a watered-down version of something that could've been great, just so it would be more digestible. the original message is what makes kids' movies memorable even years after they're released. the easy one, it's forgettable.
i love this song, i really do, at the end, where it gets more extreme you can just feel the environment collapsing, the industry growing, people getting poorer per day, and the world falling more and more apart, its also really dope tbh
I didn't realize until years later that the song existed. Like about a decade after the film came out. Of course I didn't see the film when it first came out but anyways while I did enjoy the film, hearing this song does give me a new perspective on it and I do wish they would have included the song because it would have really got the message across a lot more. It's just too bad that this song was taken out of the film because I'm pretty sure illumination wanted to make sure they can still get all their sponsored ads and make more money that way and a song like this would make them all look bad
I find this song with this animation very dark especially with the oncelers hands being the only thing shown in his appearance it give it a more dark and greedy take maybe showing how the hands are used to touch and take things...
The point of the onceler is that he could be anyone, which is why only his gloved hands and arms are shown, because it could be you or me under those gloves. To go further, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. The Onceler isn't a bad person, he's a completely average person who's stumbled upon a golden goose, and his indecision and rationalisations and cavalierness have inadvertently resulted in the destruction of the environment. That's why I'm not a super big fan of the Biggering song in the story sense, because it does makes the Onceler seem self-aware, and doesn't carry the idea that doing nothing isn't enough super well.
@@phantomfire50131:43 the Lorax explains Onceler's situation, it's his Pride and greed that caused it. It was because of his pride, ego and greed that he did all that, when he got rich with the Thneeds.

The Reason that this song was Cut for Being that It was Considered "Too Relentlessly Dark" is Just Tragic

Sounds right to me.
This makes a lot of sense
If this song ended up in the movie, the onceler fandom would be such harder simps
This song was much better than how bad can I be. In HBCIB, the oncler pretty much says that he doesnt think that what hes doing is that bad and he doesnt really realize what hes doing is morally wrong, but this song is about him coming terms with the fact that what hes doing is wrong, he just doesnt care. Its a lot more realistic that way
HBCIB has both, to be honest, at first he's asking it rhetorically, then it turns to him asking how much can he get away with.
i love the way they kept the part where the once-ler says “well the animal that doesn’t winds up someone else’s lunch”
At first I didn't realize
I needed all this stuff
I had a little cottage
And that cottage was enough
A place where I could sit and knit
A place where I could sell my Thneeds
But now I've had a little time
To re-assess my needs
And I need a bigger office
I need a bigger chair
A bigger desk, a bigger staff
A bigger hat to wear
Because I'm biggering
I'm figuring I'm biggering
And biggering is triggering
More biggering
Hey, listen up, meathead
I'm going to say this once, and I'm not gonna repeat it
Greed ya see, it's like a little pet, alright?
And the more and more and more that you go and feed it
The more hungry it'll get
But you know, you really can't blame greed
No, that's stupid
You see, it's gotta worm inside
Oh yeah, that's right
It's one that always needs to feed
And it is never satisfied
You get it?
But the more you try to find it
The more it likes to hide
Now listen that is nasty little worm
And I like to call it pride
See, now that's why you're biggering
Listen here, idiot
I'm figuring on biggering
But that biggering's just triggering more biggering
Got that? Alright
There is a principle of nature
That most every creature knows
It's called survival of the fittest
And this is how it goes
The animal that wins has got to
Claw and kick and punch
The animal that doesn't
Winds up someone else's lunch
A company's an animal
That's trying to survive (survive)
It's struggling, and fighting
Just to keep itself alive
I must keep biggering
I'm figuring I'm biggering
Though biggering is triggering more biggering
I won't stop
Biggering
I'm figuring I'm biggering
And biggering is triggering more biggering
And the customers are buying
And the money multiplying
And the pr people lying
And the lawyers are denying

Pink Floyd’s been pretty quiet since this dropped
Omg the tension
If this was the film we got, the film would have been a lot deeper
Wow, this even has a Dr. Seuss vibe to it in the word-play and message to the original story! WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS SONG?! It’s so good, it really could’ve amped up the film adaptation to almost ten-fold if they had left it in the story😤
R.I.P Biggering, my favorite Lorax Song. ❤
damn son, the editing on display here is great. Hope this kino gets more views.
The fact that this could’ve been avoided and more profitable if the once-ler just cut the thneeds off the trees and left them in the ground is wild to me
Hmm yes the original lore of the Lorax
I love how 2012 The Lorax couldn't have been a worse adaptation. Dr. Seuss book/ 1972 movie try to express how the Once-ler is not an "person", it's a company. That's why he is never represented fully, and only his hands, because he hasn't a personality, he only thinks and works for money, and biggering. Talking about Biggering, giant mistake of Ilumination to cut this song out of the movie. Now, on the 2012 adaptation, they made everything look more kid-friendly, giving the Once-Ler a personality and even making him likable, because of 2 little factors:
-This would make a big Self-Critic
-merch
2 things that the original story tries to criticise. Also the side story with the seed thing was just a giant meme.
I got chills... unironically
4:22 That part is really good. The images flashes to give you a wide idea of everything the Once-Ler is doing to keep is business growing, while the environment is getting completely destroyed.

THIS BIGGERING 🤬🤬🤬 IS TRIGGERING!!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🗣🗣🗣🗣
THIS SONG IS FIREEE 🔥
biggering gives us a villain who knows what he's doing. it gives us a villain who doesn't care. it mimics billionaires and corporations who own sweatshops, who underpay their workers, who pollute the air and the ground and want to build fucking factory towns to expand their operations. they don't care who they have to step on, who they have to destroy, to get on top. in a film where biggering is his theme, this is the onceler.
how bad can i be gives us a villain who honestly doesn't get it. he's deluding the public (with lines like "a portion of proceeds go to charity"), but he's also deluding himself. we see a man who's corrupting himself with greed and doesn't realize it until it's too late. the lyrics would be more powerful if it had a similar tune to this song, but it's vaguely reminiscent of modern pop and doesn't pack nearly the same punch -- and since the song grows gradually darker, we still get that idea that he just really, really doesn't _get it._
we deserved a film that told billionaires to go shove it. what we got was a watered-down version of something that could've been great, just so it would be more digestible. the original message is what makes kids' movies memorable even years after they're released. the easy one, it's forgettable.
THE BEST SHOULD HAVE MORE SUPPORT
We were so close to greatness, SO CLOSE
i love this song, i really do, at the end, where it gets more extreme you can just feel the environment collapsing, the industry growing, people getting poorer per day, and the world falling more and more apart, its also really dope tbh
Great Work, love the cartoon, love the song and this is a great combination of the two.
The lorax part is amazing
better than the fucking 2012 remake
I didn't realize until years later that the song existed. Like about a decade after the film came out. Of course I didn't see the film when it first came out but anyways while I did enjoy the film, hearing this song does give me a new perspective on it and I do wish they would have included the song because it would have really got the message across a lot more. It's just too bad that this song was taken out of the film because I'm pretty sure illumination wanted to make sure they can still get all their sponsored ads and make more money that way and a song like this would make them all look bad
Dr Suess would've been proud bro
The way everything syncs up, my God I adore this.
@@LennyQUMFIF And if you just listened to this song instead of the original materials, you might actually believe that even though it's completely the wrong message.
