Fr i grinded elite solo for warship with my very own strategy i made the map was blox out it was 50k and i was able to get warships in 13 days no problem

I think he's made the grind extremely well. All of the extermely expensive towers are crazy good, but they also differ from eachother, making the grind for each one feel like you're grinding for something else

Love the vid! Hopefully the halloween battlepass will show some improvement and be less grindy that comes from a person with all towers almost all expert medals and lvl 139 that grinded the tb event so hard cause im one of the persons who actually enjoy grinding for 4 or 10 hours straight lol
I feel like the Halloween event improved the battle pass grind a LOT. They gave us a much wider range of difficulties to grind on, and while it's still pretty arduous for newer players to repeat chapter 1 over and over again, it's at least an improvement for the pros who have the ability to do the harder, but much more rewarding chapters 3 and 4. I do think the structure of the battle pass was also improved just a little bit with the towers more spread out so you could have small boosts of satisfaction at unlocking a new tower so unlocking all 3 would feel a little bit less excruciating. Overall, this was a lot better of a time for me, and I feel like I can actually finish this thing without having to spend a significant fraction of my free time over multiple weeks.

For the map balancing solution... They should just make it like the Doomspire Defense map difficulty. Even when it's a simple/easy/normal/hard/impossible map it still has different reward multiplier for each maps in their perspective difficulty. Not only will this fix a lot of the map balancing like baseplate and asteroid clearly being much harder than other impossible maps but it will also make it easier for them to balance maps since they aren't just stuck with the simple-impossible difficulty
Tbh, I wanna share something I hope John would add in the game I think John should add a strat-lock system which is that if you use a doc strat more than a specific times a day, the strat-lock will activate, making it so that you gain no rewards after that specific number of games, until the next day. The reason I think this is effective instead of constantly nerfing, is because that even if John nerfs a tower, the strat makers will just make a load more strats, and nerfing will upset the player base who don’t use strats by quite a lot. However, if John uses strat-lock, the strat makers can’t do anything about it, and John won’t have to constantly nerf, and he can technically nerf every single DAMN STRAT. without having to upset the player base ( Sorry for yapping quite a lot, it’s my opinion) Edit: I liked my own comment cuz why not

Commenting a second time After finally finishing this video, I strongly agree with the points in here. I wanted to bring up the tower restriction/blacklist mechanic. It's a pretty good idea and it really isn't out of the ordinary to lower rewards for beating maps with certain towers/ban towers outright. It's like modifiers; you can beat the map much easier, but at a cost of lower rewards. Some future maps could also have blacklisted towers that cannot be used at all. Bloons monkey city does this. Hell, any game with water towers does this as well, since you are just unable to place water towers on maps with no water.

When the second double XP that John released in the event, even though it's 2 days, it ended up in the day of my exam, really convenient and planned John, real convenient.
Honestly instead of screwing you up for using spawners with gold modifiers, John should instead focus on some of the strengths of the game. Not a fan of TDX, since every time I try to play it, I see the grind and my will gets absolutely demolished. But seeing the problems it has and a few videos seeing some of the enemies, he actually has a doable solution. I'll give you some ideas myself. 1. Take advantage of the damage types mechanic. Now what do I mean by that?, elaborate on what damage type spawns would be, being obvious that they're bullet type if they use a gun, and so on. Specially a damage type for collision with spawned units, so when your spawned units are weakened by the damage type, their bodies won't save you. 2. Make an enemy that is specially designed to nuke spawns. Now I shall elaborate, make an enemy that INSTAKILLS spawns on either collision or by attacks, that way they won't dominate certain maps. So what it'll do?, force you to do a skillfull thing: Play around with towers placement and targeting to make sure that one enemy dies first before your spawns get killed, due to their attack either being range limited or just collision damage. Then to avoid losing dps from spawns and probably an important part of your strategy, say for example, they're your only way to deal with hidden enemies and such, you'll need to play around that. Funnily enough, those 2 mechanics are present in Doomspire Defense, however one got buffed to an extreme amount if I recall correctly, it being the damage type resistance, they're either outright immune or take full damage, no in-betweens. I was gonna give a third one, but thinking about it, it was kinda a repeat of the first one, so I think I won't say it, since I would've been repeating myself anyway. Edit: I just remembered the nuking spawns being an actual thing, however the only time I saw it being used, was from bosses. It would really help them if they made a normal enemy have those abilities, so he could be placed in certain places on waves structures. To take one of my own examples, say you have a wave with a lot of hiddens, a few tanky fellas and spawn nukers. That way, if you're only using spawns for hidden detection, you'll have a hard time, since half of your spawned units or depending on the enemy range, would've died and the hiddens would have an easier time breaking in.
About the line of sight thing, he said in one of his stream that he would love to fix it, but it will just make the game bug (they were really useful on borderlands in TB)
The TB event was one of the best gameplay wise, worst grind wise. I absolutely loved the challenge of Nightmare Void, and the nostalgia that it brought me was indescribable (played TB since 2017) But the battle pass was the worst part about the event. What was once a fun challenge that made me exited and happy, became one of, if not the most tedious grind. While I wanted to beat nightmare on my own, the time limit put a lot of stress on me, and I resulted to strats. I REALLY hope this new Halloween event doesn’t have the same battle pass mechanic, and that John learns from his mistakes.
Also for the TB event, you would need to play twice every day for 30 days, then once for the other 40 to get ZED, if you’re grinding normal mode. So it’s about 45 mins of tdx a day on average, which is pretty healthy for burnout.

The Grind before medals for beginners was so hard (and the wave predator was changed to 29 before it was 30 and eradicator was 35 instead of 32 john made it to make it faster)

Small tip on pc, keys C and V can change your tower's targeting, way faster than clicking
