Insta360 Ace Pro vs. DJI Pocket 3 - Who's the low light king?

I have both. The Ace Pro is not nearly as good as the Pocket 3 at night. If I am holding the Ace Pro very still, the video is quite good. But even at Pro Video, the Ace Pro causes the light sources to shake in the distance when I am walking with the Ace Pro attached to the GoPro Volta. I wasn't even walking very fast. I'm sure it will do well with a gimbal, but if that's the case, it defeats the purpose of buying it over the Pocket 3 which has amazing night video by the way
Do you maybe also have an iPhone 15 Pro? in case, how the low light video (and stabilization) compare with the Ace Pro?

@@simoz78I have a Galaxy 23 instead of an IPhone. In terms of low light, the Ace Pro does beat the Galaxy 23 by a quite bit, but not sure how the iPhone 15 would stack against the Ace Pro
Yes. All electronic stabilisation caused artefacts. Gimbal is the only way..

both excellent cameras but in different classes so usage is different. But yes, if you're talking about low light, hands down Pocket 3 due to the bigger sensor and the built in 'gimbal'. Through both in water and see which one still shoots ;) P3 for this purpose big winner, but the thought of putting this up against the Ace Pro is already something for a new action cam. I would love to have the Ace Pro, Pocket 3 and DJI Mini 3 Pro drone in my gear bag, that's the perfect combo for a good shooting day.
Wow! Awesome test!! I have the insta360 x3 and the Go3 and it was so obvious with what my current cameras do with colors which camera was the insta360 camera. The pocket 3 literally blew it out of the water in all your low light condition tests…. Thank you! This is the best side by side I’ve seen!
I just need an action cam to have the low light capabilities of the pocket 3. I film ride POVs and it would be amazing to use on Space Mountain or Tron. It's just a bit hard to mount a Pocket 3 on a required chest harness to film these rides.
Bought the pocket 3 and never looked back👍 waiting for the Osmo action that will have a 1” sensor in a year or two
I knew immediately 😆just got the insta360 go 3 and the image in the ace pro looks very similar imo

Pocket overexposure by about +0,5 where there is light. So lower the exposure it will use less iso and even better details. Very strange artifacts on insta not good.

Camera 2 doesnt have the face in focus at all... or it's adding some kind of a smooth effect.. so weird.
Yah unfortunately Ace Pro has a longer min focal point, where the Ace Pro shines is past that focal point in terms of detail and the low light shooting, a very completely different shooting style imo.
easy to tell because the background on the pocket 3 is blurry, the ace pro background is not blurry, but it is darker looking. So neither of them are really that good in my opinion.
It suppose to be blurry because pocket 3 doesn’t have infinite focus

Osmo Pocket 3 over Insta360 any day.
One is a vlogging cam what it is not waterproof, there are no mounts for it etc. and the other one is an action cam. lol.

@@derTommy There are mounts for the pocket 3. You are right that they are different use cases but people have been buying action cameras for vlogging because there is a lack of cameras for vlogging at this price point.
stop putting the pocket 3 inside that case, tons of people on forums are saying its slowing yanking the tiny screen too forward as you take it out of the case since its too tight, it'll eventually fail. I was so lucky to be able to return my pocket 3 on the 12th day. Lastly DONT flick the monitor open by its self, guide and HOLD the monitor when you flip it. that flicking snap on the monitor seems to be the main failure on these models.
Well Pocket clearly 3 wins, however Bokeh is meh sometimes. I found AI Topaz mode on Ace Pro not too bad.
