Just bought the prophet delay pedal yesterday and was so happy with the built quality and sound. Im getting the forcefield next. Love the size and feel of this pedal run. So good!
I just got one of these, very pleased. The controls are so much more responsive and the sound so superior to the budget comp that I had. Highly recommended.
I’d already decided to pick up a Cinders overdrive and watching this video it seems like syncing that up with this pedal can lead to a Zeppelin-like sound. So, I’m sold.
I just got this compressor. Very nicely built. Metal case and quite big and heavy. The compression works fine but it can be noisy with the sustain at maximum. I think I will keep it.
I’m building my own pedal board and I was strolling around guitar center when I came across one of these on the display shelf for 50 bucks and had to get it...
Does the Sustain knob on the Forcefield Compressor affect the compression ratio or the threshold? The Quick Start sheet says it changes the amount of compression, implying it changes the compression ratio. But the specification sheet says the maximum ratio is 1.667361111, which is not large. So could Sustain affect threshold instead?
The user manual for this pedal indicates "Attack- Adjusts how quickly the effect engages after exceeding the threshold" Does this mean: the less attack, the less time it will take for the effect to engage ? Or does it mean the less attack; less attack aka, slower attack reaction ? I'm assuming the Attack knob is adjusted relative to the amount of time similar to a rack compressor. That also seems to be what I'm hearing. "Hear's" to hoping I'm not crazy. Cheers !
yes, similar to a rack compressor: the shorter the attack, the faster the compressor reacts. Therefore, your first option is the right one. That's why the guy in the video reduces the attack to have the percussive sound
Very well done video. I love the simplicity and sound I get from all of my TC Electronics pedals. I have struggled with compressors--in my experience, they made the guitar feel sluggish and/or colored the sound in an unwanted fashion. The ForceField simplicity and great sound has made me a believer, after I had written off compressors altogether as a category of pedal I wouldn't use. I can't believe the great value of this series of pedals. I picked up the Rush boost just as an inexpensive experiment, and I found the cleanest boost I've ever owned. Every boost seems to color the sound (no offense, Spark), but the Rush gave me exactly what I was looking for: a boost and nothing more. Keep up the good work, TCE.
Hella! It's been on my bass pedalboard for about 6 month now and I love it. I play active basses, 4 and 5 strings, I haven't tried it with a passive bass but I'm sure it'd sound just as good.
As product manager he is also the one responsible for all those trivial and uninspiring sounding pedals that sound cheap in the studio and thin on stage.
In my product manager days, we had a small selection of products we worked on. Nobody had all of the products--way too much work. My bet is he doesn't have all the pedals.
Also, product managers definitely influence the product's function and features, but they usually don't execute the design. That's left to the engineers.

all you need on a compressor pedal! not fancy! not boutique! not expensive! just functional! that's what I need!
Great album

I have the same review, some noise, but it does its job well!

Good question
@@everope I was able to contact the support team for the Forcefield compressor. They said the sustain knob changes the compression.

@@biose7en thanks buddy I really appreciate it. That’s what my ears were telling me, but I wanted reassurance! XD
@@GuyMcguy24 I just got this compressor from Amazon for 29 quid. Great value.

TCE Forcefield is sutable for Bass guitar ??
did you actually put the compressor before the drive in the chain? I have this pedal but its at the ends of my chain.
It can be done both ways, but more commonly compressor in front.
I don't think compressing a delay would be a good idea, since the tails are meant to fade.
Anyone know if it's usable with bass as well?

Usually on the compressors I’ve seen reviews for, the difference is there but not as notable. But this thing just punches you in the mouth!
How is this different from the hyperactivity?
Hypergravity
hypergravity is a multi spectrum compressor with tone print technology and a vintage mode while this is not.
John Dick Hypergravity is digital, this one is analog.
1:28 funk monks??
Joao Pedro Senna definitely a 'variation' on that for sure.
oh, great! now there's ANOTHER TC pedal I have to buy... 😉
Acabo de comprarlo y es sin dudas mejor que el Boss CS3 .
Funky Skunks from Insulin Resistance Coital Magik
I just bought this 10 minutes ago
And are you happy with your purchased?? I want to buy it!
@@Pat78 did u buy it? I want one too
Is it just me or do you find yourself only ever researching pedals after you bought them impulsively ? XD
great compressor pedal and I bought it brand new for a song - £25
He’s just so funky...I will never be hip.
Yeah
how about that...sounds good pushing the drive.
Nice!
You sound like John Cale
Funky monks yeah
For those who have no pick control
Or for those that can't crank their amps to 11 as they live with people.
Why don't you play ONE NOTE! Just ONE fucking note and let it sound???... So we can hear the fucking sustain of that note till it fucking die.
Because that would be pretty useless to hear the sound of the compressor.
@@robertsteinberger The compressor y also a sustainer.
