I want to get into solo bass and I’d really love to use that higher register but I’ve only been playing bass 2 years, is it too soon to move to a 6 string? Lovely playing by the way!!
liz plays bass thank you. It’s never too soon to start playing a six string but be sure to work on your playing technique and make sure the bass is setup really well. The six string bass is a challenging instrument to play physically, so it definitely needs to be setup so it is not fighting you. Good luck if you choose to get a six, they are a lot of fun and beautiful instruments. Another alternative is a 5 string tuned E-C. I have one in addition to my 6 and love it. Regards, Damian
