Former WWE/WCW/NWA wrestler and former World Champion "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin discusses WWE Hall of Famer and former Olympic Wrestler Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon's street fighting ability having witnessed him in a bar fight after a card in Chicoutimi Quebec. Vachon was known to be one of the legit toughest wrestlers in the same category as Haku.

I think Bobby Heenan tells a story in a shoot a different version of the bar fight story wherein Mad Dog hit the post lunging at the guy, split his head open, didn't bleed and got up wringing his hands together saying "Now, we're going to have some fun!" and beat the guy 7/8 to death...
Never, ever turned away from the TV when Mad Dog V was on.

There was a story in Winnipeg years ago , Mad 🐕 was at a bar called the Occidental on Main Street. Some locals ended up picking a fight with him . The story goes there was a guy in the back of the Hotel full of blood 🩸. When the cops arrived, and it was Mad Dog - covered in it , they cleaned him up there wasn’t a scratch on him !
I’m sorry now, that I missed the live stream with Ronnie Garvin. He was never one of my favorites, but he’s the first guy I emulated in middle school, either doing the Garvin Stomp at practice or

Mad Dog worked as a bouncer for Montreal nightclubs called the Beaver, filling in for infamous wrestler Hans Schmidt. He kicked the hell out of troublesome customers and reportedly never lost a fistfight as a bouncer.
One of my earliest memories or Garvin was he was in Georgia battling Jake the Snake for the TV title

Growing up in AWA territory got to see Dogs best work. As a kid used to scare the sh!t out of me he was so intense. His trademark was to rip the padding off the turnbuckle and give his opponent a HARD Irish whip into the unpadded turnbuckle. Very similar to Detroits Sheik. He hurt people for real.
Ron Garvin just described a wrestler Mad Dog who if he was in his prime could beat anyone one to one in their prime.
And if drunk he could still beat any 2 tough guys in their prime....back to back....
I give the all time tough guy trophy to Mad Dog.
(Rumor had it even the crocs tigers lions hyenas swim/ run away from this guy)
Wrestlers if the real deal pro wrestler are tough guys....just being thrown out of the ring you have to be a tough guy.
The average joe blow thrown out of the ring over the top rope onto the floor would be off work for a month!!!

Alot of those guys from that era were not to be fucked with.
I loved watching the Mad dog when he would first enter the ring , he'd hop around like a Kangaroo .
