I love how the story is set up at the beginning while teaching you basic combat and puzzle solving. No rush. Beautiful looking. Midnight cant get here soon enough
Already from the beginning such details. When the dragon ate that dude with glasses, the protagonist immediately began to see the festrals who were pulling the carriage. According to Harry Potter lore, festrals can only be seen by those who have seen death. But I think only a real Harry Potter fan will notice such a detail.
I've seen some gameplay of this, but none have really held my attention like you do. Everyone either talks through all of the VA and action, or rushes through it. Thank you for letting games shine and giving us viewers a better experience.
For someone who’s read and watched all the Harry Potter books and movies. I love how they sneak in little bits here and there because if you haven’t ready the books you wouldn’t know all the references they give you in your first 5 minutes at hog warts. I love this.
This is the first game that makes me *want* to watch the character creation part. I am simply wowed by the level of attention to detail. I have not seen a character's eyes move so realistically like that. You can always tell stuff from the details, and this says that the developers knew exactly what they were doing, and they did it with love. If there's a mac version, I'll get it in a heartbeat.

My character looks almost identical to me except for the hair not quite hanging in my face but he looks amazing none the less I can’t stop staring at my characters face cause of how accurate I made him 💀
Man, I remember playing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone with my Mom as a kid, on the PS1 back in like '01/'02, the graphics and polygon faces looking back were laughable, but that was just the best of the time. Crazy to think how far we've come man.
Watching your play through is like I'm there. You're style of playing and commenting is the best I've seen because you don't talk over the characters and the cut scenes.
When pre-release gameplay is already available, you know the developers are confident, although they may still be nervous af for the world to see their baby. From what I've seen in the few hours of gameplay, it looks like it will be a solid game. And Potterheads made the game. Us Potterheads can't ask for more.
It is incredibly fun so far. I have reached level 5 already and I’ve only completed a few of the main quests. Most of my XP so far has just been exploring the castle and uncovering little gems and doing a few puzzles.
if the game does well enough which im sure it will the sequel must add quidditch as a mini game for rewards and just for the fun of it. Unless despite what the headmaster said it actually will show up in this game later in the story but i imagine they didnt want to blow their whole load on the first game. Seems like something they would add for another game to improve it. Also making a call back to this game not having it the head master would probably be like its back after last years cancelation. They will probably increase flying mechanics as well and imagine flying around this whole map in the future chasing after the snitch or just wacking bludgers around.
@@jred2day766 Yeah I am up to 11 or 12 now on about 7 hours of gameplay. The only time I have left the castle still was to go to Hogsmeade, most of my time has spent in the castle exploring and finding things.
4hrs in and can confirm it is incredible. The graphics may not be next Gen, but I couldn’t expect anything more from a new studio, and with how much they’ve fit into this world. It’s amazing

Hollow's playthroughs are always of a very high quality. The audio, the visuals, everything! This game looks beautiful. I hope my PC is able to run it. Can't wait!

The castle is alot older in the movies than in the game and it shows . The game touched up on points the movie failed to deliver on but the movie definitely breathed the initial life into the castle so magnificently.
@@Knowledge.to_Come True, it's also gave us the basis for what it may have looked like in the first place, so there is that. Waiting on the day a bunch of rich HP fans have the castle built for real. Probably not gonna happen, but a gal can dream.

I’ve been waiting for this! I used to play with my friends outside with stick “wands” and used real Harry Potter books as our textbooks as well. We’d pretend to go to each class and we’d borrow our parents robes too. 😂 I’m excited to dive into Hogwarts yet again. This Xbox One player is STOKED 🥹♥️ Ty Hollow for this!

I like the subtle tidbits that they added. It makes the game quite unique. For example, when Mr. Osric is killed by the dragon, you can finally see the thestrals pulling the carriage. (Since they can only be seen by someone who has watched someone die.)
I’ve watched these movies over and over again for years. I went to see the first one in theaters with my mom and it was the first “big book” I’ve ever read. I can not wait to play this and I can’t wait for my kids to play this. Love your stuff Hollow. Thanks for playing for us 🤗

I’m 9 hours into gameplay and I really think it’s amazing. The whole game. There is an absolutely perfect balance of story and free play exploration I think
I agree. With most open world games I get overwhelmed by the options. And I tend to get lost by how much I wanna do and can do, but in the 9 hours I have I've managed to do mostly the main story and a few side things as I see fit. I've enjoyed it so much.
@911gatman I think after about 6 hours, give or take you kinda hit the more open world aspect of it. I'm trying to keep mostly to the story for now and after a little you do hit this point of "I need to get this and this so I can do this so I can get back onto the main story." Which can be slightly frustrating. But other then that I find it super fun and I don't normally play open world games.

Oh my goodness this game really is incredible. So far it's exceeding my expectations! Worth 20+ years of waiting for an immersive harry Potter game in which you don't play as harry haha. THE CASTLE IS INCREDIBLE. I love maps and I previously spent hours poring over maps, and models of the castle, official and fan made, imagining where each common room and classroom is. And so far, many of the places are all where I imagine them - all the common rooms, the DADA classroom, AND the charms classroom!! Ravenclaw and Gryffjndor towers are exactly where I pictured them, and I always felt the Hufflepuff basement was at the bottom of the grand staircase tower, I haven't been to the Slytherin area yet but I assume it would be in the remaining tower between hufflepuff and gryffindor... But the castle has even more to offer than I'd thought, it's fleshed out in SO MUCH detail! I also like that they put the Gryffindor common room at the end of a corridor like in the books (and first movie). Besides, it's location never matched up with the fat lady being at the top of the staircase. That said, I've decided to go Ravenclaw. This will have good replay value as I want to try all the houses. It's also really well designed and very intuitive. It runs remarkably well for a PC just above the minimum requirements (1080p though). I've even been able to turn up many of the settings and still have a smooth frame rate. Looks so beautiful!!
This game looks so cool, wow. I also love that you’re not talking over the entire thing, letting us enjoy the intro scenes along with you. This was exactly what I wanted out of a gameplay video!

this is an example of a game truly made out of love. it is so enjoyable and i love just exploring everywhere walking around the castle and listening to the other students conversations lol some of them are pretty funny. im kind of trash at dueling tho but it’s still so fun nonetheless. i have 11 hours of gameplay and have been taking it pretty slow just bc i explore so much and don’t want to rush. it’s my new favorite game just like i thought it would be!

One thing I really like about this game is when you’re having conversations with characters, it’s not like Horizon where, it has like 5/6 multiple questions, and then some of those questions lead into more questions, and you end up stood there having a conversation with this character for that long it becomes mundane. You get the information you need out of them in 2/3 questions and move on. I feel like they’ve definitely thought about this
No, it feels like they saved on voiceovers everywhere they could, and especially the main quests. Non essential side quests I do agree with you, but because they just did what they did it's super linear. It's great and all, but you're watching their film. It's what the older AC games were like. Because of that the fans of Harry Potter love this game, others see it as mediocre in many ways. Since I am a fan I ignore it. For this developer it's nothing new, it's how they did Batman and Shadow of Mordor and War. But here they might have done better, and didn't. 150 million into developing, I wish they spent it better overall. Wouldn't cost anything extra even, but would have drastically increased the replay value. From what I saw they dumped most of it on the castle. They aren't the first either, I saw many make these same mistakes.

My kids (8 & 11) are huge Harry Potter fans and I can't wait for them to play this game. The texture/detail on this game is at another level. My favorite part from watching this video has to be the big open world that you can explore just like some of the gret RPG games of my time. Great video, thanks for uploading. I actually looked into getting the game too but I don’t own any consoles and since I barely use my laptop it doesn’t even connect to Wi-Fi anymore because it needs updating and I’m too lazy to buy an Ethernet cable to do it 😂. Hey this is regardless of if you get the game or not. This is to help you fix your laptop. Don't get the ethernet adapter since you want it mobile around the place. Get a dongle for the USB that gives WiFi. I had to for my old PC. They aren't expensive and they work well. Anyhow this game might get you into a few like it, or not. One very like it IMO is Fenyx Rising. If you'll like this one.
I've recently had to fix my laptop's wifi without ethernet. You can download any needed software on your phone and transfer it to your laptop to then install it. No ethernet cable needed.

Dude, growing up on the novels ever since reading my first book in 3rd grade by J.K. Rowling and following the franchise that was introduce to me by my aunt simply made this one of my most favorite lores. Now 15 YEARS LATER seeing my childhood memories come to life in a game is one of the best feelings in the world (getting goosebumps just watching your gameplay! XD). Watching you play this is more than I could ever ask for! If I could be so lucky I’d love to play the game with my aunt on a Playstation console, I know she’d go crazy over this, thank you! 🙏🏼

That’ll probably be in like 2 years. Especially if it does good. Some games have been out for a couple of years and still sit at $60 . It all really depends on the game’s performance. If its a hit. Its gonna stay at $60 for a while. If its a flop. Then probably after 6 months itll drop a bit

Honestly the game is weird in terms of action-battle aspect, I don’t really get how you can be excited about this. I mean you are a student - and after 1 day of gameplay you already now full arsenal of offensive spells, including Avada Kedavra. What a hell? You literally go to the forest for some side quests and genocide population of wolves using torturing spells which burn them alive.
The fact that the playing character (the character that the user was playing) was able to see the thestrals after George got crushed is such a nice thing in the cinematic lol. OMG! See the part where Phineas Black is introduced makes me now understand that the story is set back in the past lol/.

Always liked the way you make your content, it’s really hard to keep watching long videos. Many of us have a really short attention span, but for me, the way you make your content, it feels much more engaging, and easy to watch for long stretches. I’m back on playing PC games, but Ps5 has got some great games that I could cross play on my PC when I’m on steam. Anyways, I don’t have much time to play as much, and there are too many games that I’d like to buy, but I usually wait until you do review before purchasing a game.
This game is everything, being a potterhead and seeing this, seeing hogwarts almost made me cry. I love how excited in a compose way you are! If I get the chance, i would love to play this on pc.

I read the books many years ago when I was a kid and I am almost certain that they only revealed themselves if the person witnessed the death of a loved one with their own eyes. Not just any person.

i just got my own xbox a few days ago and i cannot express it enough how violently excited i am for this. the little things like the detail in creating a character that looks like me made me even more excited to play this. the customization will make everyone’s experience with this game different and i physically cannot wait.

For someone who’s read and watched all the Harry Potter books and movies. I love how they sneak in little bits here and there because if you haven’t ready the books you wouldn’t know all the references they give you in your first 5 minutes at hog warts. I love this.
This is the first game that makes me *want* to watch the character creation part. I am simply wowed by the level of attention to detail. I have not seen a character's eyes move so realistically like that. You can always tell stuff from the details, and this says that the developers knew exactly what they were doing, and they did it with love. If there's a mac version, I'll get it in a heartbeat.

Man, I remember playing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone with my Mom as a kid, on the PS1 back in like '01/'02, the graphics and polygon faces looking back were laughable, but that was just the best of the time. Crazy to think how far we've come man.

When pre-release gameplay is already available, you know the developers are confident, although they may still be nervous af for the world to see their baby. From what I've seen in the few hours of gameplay, it looks like it will be a solid game.

It is incredibly fun so far. I have reached level 5 already and I’ve only completed a few of the main quests. Most of my XP so far has just been exploring the castle and uncovering little gems and doing a few puzzles.
if the game does well enough which im sure it will the sequel must add quidditch as a mini game for rewards and just for the fun of it. Unless despite what the headmaster said it actually will show up in this game later in the story but i imagine they didnt want to blow their whole load on the first game. Seems like something they would add for another game to improve it. Also making a call back to this game not having it the head master would probably be like its back after last years cancelation. They will probably increase flying mechanics as well and imagine flying around this whole map in the future chasing after the snitch or just wacking bludgers around.

@@jred2day766 Yeah I am up to 11 or 12 now on about 7 hours of gameplay. The only time I have left the castle still was to go to Hogsmeade, most of my time has spent in the castle exploring and finding things.
4hrs in and can confirm it is incredible. The graphics may not be next Gen, but I couldn’t expect anything more from a new studio, and with how much they’ve fit into this world. It’s amazing

The castle is alot older in the movies than in the game and it shows . The game touched up on points the movie failed to deliver on but the movie definitely breathed the initial life into the castle so magnificently.

I like the subtle tidbits that they added. It makes the game quite unique. For example, when Mr. Osric is killed by the dragon, you can finally see the thestrals pulling the carriage. (Since they can only be seen by someone who has watched someone die.)

I agree. With most open world games I get overwhelmed by the options. And I tend to get lost by how much I wanna do and can do, but in the 9 hours I have I've managed to do mostly the main story and a few side things as I see fit. I've enjoyed it so much.

@911gatman I think after about 6 hours, give or take you kinda hit the more open world aspect of it.
I'm trying to keep mostly to the story for now and after a little you do hit this point of "I need to get this and this so I can do this so I can get back onto the main story." Which can be slightly frustrating. But other then that I find it super fun and I don't normally play open world games.

Oh my goodness this game really is incredible. So far it's exceeding my expectations! Worth 20+ years of waiting for an immersive harry Potter game in which you don't play as harry haha. THE CASTLE IS INCREDIBLE. I love maps and I previously spent hours poring over maps, and models of the castle, official and fan made, imagining where each common room and classroom is. And so far, many of the places are all where I imagine them - all the common rooms, the DADA classroom, AND the charms classroom!! Ravenclaw and Gryffjndor towers are exactly where I pictured them, and I always felt the Hufflepuff basement was at the bottom of the grand staircase tower, I haven't been to the Slytherin area yet but I assume it would be in the remaining tower between hufflepuff and gryffindor... But the castle has even more to offer than I'd thought, it's fleshed out in SO MUCH detail! I also like that they put the Gryffindor common room at the end of a corridor like in the books (and first movie). Besides, it's location never matched up with the fat lady being at the top of the staircase. That said, I've decided to go Ravenclaw. This will have good replay value as I want to try all the houses. It's also really well designed and very intuitive. It runs remarkably well for a PC just above the minimum requirements (1080p though). I've even been able to turn up many of the settings and still have a smooth frame rate. Looks so beautiful!!

One thing I really like about this game is when you’re having conversations with characters, it’s not like Horizon where, it has like 5/6 multiple questions, and then some of those questions lead into more questions, and you end up stood there having a conversation with this character for that long it becomes mundane. You get the information you need out of them in 2/3 questions and move on. I feel like they’ve definitely thought about this
No, it feels like they saved on voiceovers everywhere they could, and especially the main quests. Non essential side quests I do agree with you, but because they just did what they did it's super linear. It's great and all, but you're watching their film. It's what the older AC games were like. Because of that the fans of Harry Potter love this game, others see it as mediocre in many ways. Since I am a fan I ignore it. For this developer it's nothing new, it's how they did Batman and Shadow of Mordor and War. But here they might have done better, and didn't. 150 million into developing, I wish they spent it better overall. Wouldn't cost anything extra even, but would have drastically increased the replay value. From what I saw they dumped most of it on the castle. They aren't the first either, I saw many make these same mistakes.

I actually looked into getting the game too but I don’t own any consoles and since I barely use my laptop it doesn’t even connect to Wi-Fi anymore because it needs updating and I’m too lazy to buy an Ethernet cable to do it 😂. Hey this is regardless of if you get the game or not. This is to help you fix your laptop. Don't get the ethernet adapter since you want it mobile around the place. Get a dongle for the USB that gives WiFi. I had to for my old PC. They aren't expensive and they work well. Anyhow this game might get you into a few like it, or not. One very like it IMO is Fenyx Rising. If you'll like this one.

I've recently had to fix my laptop's wifi without ethernet. You can download any needed software on your phone and transfer it to your laptop to then install it. No ethernet cable needed.

Rowling and following the franchise that was introduce to me by my aunt simply made this one of my most favorite lores. Now 15 YEARS LATER seeing my childhood memories come to life in a game is one of the best feelings in the world (getting goosebumps just watching your gameplay! XD). Watching you play this is more than I could ever ask for!

Honestly the game is weird in terms of action-battle aspect, I don’t really get how you can be excited about this. I mean you are a student - and after 1 day of gameplay you already now full arsenal of offensive spells, including Avada Kedavra. What a hell? You literally go to the forest for some side quests and genocide population of wolves using torturing spells which burn them alive.

The fact that the playing character (the character that the user was playing) was able to see the thestrals after George got crushed is such a nice thing in the cinematic lol.

Always liked the way you make your content, it’s really hard to keep watching long videos. Many of us have a really short attention span, but for me, the way you make your content, it feels much more engaging, and easy to watch for long stretches.
I’m back on playing PC games, but Ps5 has got some great games that I could cross play on my PC when I’m on steam. Anyways, I don’t have much time to play as much, and there are too many games that I’d like to buy, but I usually wait until you do review before purchasing a game.
The way the thestrals appeared was such an amazing touch. I would love to get this for the PC.

i LOVEEEEE how at the start when they start flying away in the carrige, you don't see anything, but when your character turns around when we sees the dragon crush part of the carriage, you see them.
those creatures where thestrals, you can see them when you witness death with your own eyes, a small but AMAZING detail!!

I read the books many years ago when I was a kid and I am almost certain that they only revealed themselves if the person witnessed the death of a loved one with their own eyes. Not just any person.
@@FGC292 well, i dont really think it matters if its a loved one or not, i looked it up to just double check, and google said if you see somebody die with your own eyes

i just got my own xbox a few days ago and i cannot express it enough how violently excited i am for this. the little things like the detail in creating a character that looks like me made me even more excited to play this. the customization will make everyone’s experience with this game different and i physically cannot wait.
