Took his hero worship and twisted it into fanatical devotion. Took his desire to do the right thing and twisted it into a conviction he was always doing the right thing. Took his trauma over his loss of identity and twisted it into a need for Decepticon identity. Tarn is a victim of Megatron, another in an endless sea of blue flowers. Megatron even expresses regret over it to his former protege’s face. The worst part is while Megatron had enough independence and experience and confidence to see the errors of his path, Tarn did not. This is not to excuse Tarn. His choices were his own. After watching Pulse Con and finally seeing the reveal of HasTak's first legit Generation Tarn figure, I figured I'd take another stop here and listen to this IDW comic debut again and I still love it! Especially since this video will likely be the closest we'll ever get to a quality TF show ever.

You'd be surprised how often that question gets asked. I tried asking James Roberts that on Twitter, and his only answer was "Megatron." Make of that what you will.
Starscream was on the DJD list for a while but they didn't go for him as Megatron himself managed that "threat" while starscream was a bit of a traitorous bitch, his goal was the same as that of Megatron, just didn't like his leadership is all. tarn did say the DJD serves to ensure the fruition of decepticon cause, everything was secondary as they even once even tried to hunt down Megatron once he himself said all decepticons to stand down and end the war.
I love how they introduced the DJD here, but I hate how they killed Black Shadow. I know. He's pretty much an obscure nothing character who's only redeeming quality is his wicked-awesome design and the only significant thing he did was working as a mercenary for Hellbat in 1 or 2 episodes of Transformers: Victory. But given how well they fleshed out Overlord and Sixshot in the original main IDW TF universe, I think they could've done so much more with Black Shadow other than have him make a few scattered appearances in a few stories only to be killed off. Talk about wasted potential.
exactly, all we know of him in idw is that he was a money-seeking phase sixer with little care for the decepticon cause. that's very little and I would give a lot to have more variety in a future cast of characters in future adaptations instead of the regular Optimus vs Megatron.

I enjoyed this audio overall but I think there would be a distinction in Tarn's voice when he is using his power's. A literal "Death Threat" if you will. A slight echo similar to Shrapnel's but less drawn out and more menacing. Or maybe something Techy in the background while he's speaking like a fax machine's noise. Has Jame's Robert himself given this any feedback?
Me hoping he does is based mostly on wishful thinking that Hasbro will one day start making IDW based cartoon's or direct to video animated movies like DC does (Or the way Marvel use to when they had that deal with Lion'sGate) and that they would actually listen to his feedback instead of goofballs (Bay) with no real clue about TF lore. Plus this 5 minute video was 100x's more intriguing than anything Machinima has made in their 2 crummy season's.
We'll just have to wait and see. And as for Machinima, I admit that what they've been producing hasn't exactly been good, though the best I can say for them is that Titans Return was only a slight improvement. The key word being "slight."
