He was so enamoured by Lancelot there are legitimately interpretations that mean there are huge rainbow coloured connotations around that ordeal. Kinda are. He is one of the few servants with the braging rights of being unrivaled in ones era. Not many servants hold that title. And honestly it shows he was so good with fighting that even king authur skill could not match him.

But that's just my excuse, the real reason I don't like Lancelot is because his Berserker self had the nerve to be mad at Artoria after all the shit HE started
You can say so because at this point he already lost everything and now all he wants is to make it right in his berserker foam. So he will do anything to do the right thing. While saber lancelot has a hard time being consider a dad and why we get those weird interactions between them. Berserkerlot in the fate zero event in FGO in the trailer saves mashu and seem to have a berserker like love for her like a real father should have.

If you only watch anime, they animated the 7th chapter Babylonia. They skipped the 1st 6 chapters because its fan voted. But they released Itinum Iter, which is the ep 0 of Babylonia, which have infos you need so you can keep up.
