- The Thunderbolt Mountain Roller Coaster is a mountain coaster located at Berkshire East, in Charlemont, Massachusetts. When it opened, it was the longest mountain coaster in North America (the Outlaw Mountain Coaster in Steamboat Springs, Colorado now hold that record). From my experience, this is certainly one of the best and the wildest mountain coaster in New England, and I would say it is my personal favorite that I have ridden so far.
Berkshire East is a ski area located in Charlemont, Massachusetts, which is located in the Berkshire Mountains in the Western part of the state. It is a small, independently owned ski area, and has some hardcore followers. Many consider it to be one of the best ski areas in Massachusetts. Many people come to Berkshire East, looking to get the Vermont skiing feel, but without driving as far, therefore, Berkshire East is popular with those from both the Boston, New York, and Philadelphia Metro Areas. Berkshire East is also under the same ownership as fellow independent Massachusetts (and New York) ski area, Catamount.
In the summer Berkshire East, and the town of Charlemont, are home to a mountain coaster, whitewater rafting, whitewater kayaking, a bike park, multiple zip line courses, and more.
If you would like to skip the uphill portion of the mount coaster, skip ahead to 5:15

Excellent complete presentation video, thanks.
This is great! Definitely going there soon.
Could I please use this POV for a countdown of my favorite mountain coasters? I will provide you with full credit for this footage and include a link back to this video in the description.
Sent you an email
i went here today it was super fun but they have the 80 feet sensor thingys so mine kept stopping, my sister was veryy slow
So if I go slow and smb behind be going fast, r they going to crash into me?
You can make it that slow? Other videos show people go too fast. The speed on thr video is actually perfect. But what if smb behind you go too fast?
Cool
Hey I live near here
Awesome!
It seems I takes about as long to go up as to go down?
Longer to go up
Omg!
Atleast you can experience the scenic route
At the end you can see the employee spraying down the blood of a rider mauled by a grizzly. Very unfortunate.
And they have the nerve to make that thing go slow…. Yeah ill do the one out the country
This was during Covid. They were spraying it down because of that.
