Casablanca: Why Is It So Famous? | Magnificent Megacities | TRACKS

- Famous from the 1940's award winning movie, Casablanca is a city of love, drama, and passion. A city just like the Hollywood film, even though not a single scene was shot there. Today, two worlds clash, tradition, and globalisation. An old port city and commercial hub in western Morocco, which at one time was ruled by the French, can be seen through its downtown architectural style.

It seems that there is no net differences, but on the contrary there is a great similarities between Moroccans and their neighbors the Algerians. I have never visited Morocco. But after have viewed this video i filled we are so similar to each other. I respect so much the Moroccan people they seem to be humble and friendly. I hope that one day i will visit all Moroccan cities because they deserve it well.
I have seen this sometimes ago, the female surfer, the Vespa club and the fashion model stood out, so it was made a while ago but reload. Regardless, it's still nice to watch it again.
I have visited Morocco in 2015 and 2017 and spent a night in the Sahara each visit. I didn't have special memories in casablanca, did visited Rick's Café and got a special free postcard from the restaurant. The film Casablancas is constantly on a loop playing at different parts of the small restaurant. I think some part of the FIM was shot inside there.
My favorite cities in Morocco are Fez for the leather artisans and the stunning Blue city of chefchaouen . There was a French documentary about Moroccon musicians made few years ago.they traveled with local artists to make y Morocco's cities, it's worth looking into on UA-cam

A Muslims salah /prayer has nothing to do with an "Arab tradition" it's the second pillar of Islam. Anyone can be Muslim, alhamdulillah.
Too many commercials hurt the video.
If I am not mistaken
Casa : house
Blanc : white
Casablanca = white house
Right?
Yes, the city at first back in the days was called Anfa (which a neighborhood today) because Anfa's houses were painted all white. The Spanish sailors would refer to it as Casablanca (the white house) the city started growing to become a metropolis and kept that name Casablanca.
great
one part is not right, the second biggest mosque which is located in Madinah, Saudi Arabia has a retractable roofs (yes multiple) as well
Beautiful country
ehhhhhhh kinda as someone who visited its nice in most parts... where I'm from though my uncle has been stabbed and my 70 year old grandpa was robbed... I don't speak arabic that well but since I go there for 3 months every year the locals know me... also I know how to avoid getting robbed in the first place
This docu is old. Lot of changes happening now.
The name of the king is?
Mohammed the sixth
Casablanca center is beautiful, but if you drive 5 kilometers from the city center, for example, to the Lahraouyine area, you will see slums and a dump and complete unsanitary conditions
This exist All metropolitan cities
Lahraouine is not a city it's a village doesn't even have police and Casablanca red taxis cannot enter lahraouine and it's more than 5 kilometers from the centre try harder next time lahraouine is mediouna province
Lahraouyine is Casablanca's South East side area . Very bad area . Half of all murders in Casablanca are in that area. Stay out ! Downtown is nice and safe and West of downtown in the city's West side is gorgeous . The East side heading towards Ain Sebba Zenata city is mix of industrial but also a lot of new developments . Most of Casablanca metro area is extremely safe. the exception are just a few isolated neighborhoods, mainly South East and parts of Hay Hassani and Mediouna
The water looks so muddy. Not sure I’d want to swim there. I hope they have sewage treatment facilities.
Congrats to Fatima!!!
