I've been skating for around 3 - 4 months, and after following this, I landed my first shuvit in around an hour. then immediately tried pop shuvs and managed to land it after 2 hours. What an experience. Gonna try to get it consitent and then do it rolling!

I'm loving how you guys are redoing most of your beginner tutorials! And with Aaron! Also, absolutely amazing timing, made at the time I'm trying to learn how to shove it
@@fazefusion2220now I’m not a professional skater but one thing I could tell you is to make sure that you have the right feet positioning and when you are doing the shuvit make sure that you are lifting both feet because if you are not your board will not fully rotate
You guys are the reason I got into skating again. I stayed when I was 10 ALL the time but was discouraged when I couldn't ollie. I'm 24 now and got into it again and did my first few ollies 2 weeks ago. They were small but I dont think I've ever been more proud of myself. I got a new board to celebrate since mine was 12 years old. You guys make me so happy
When you start, get it down stationary. Make sure to hop forward. When you start moving do it exactly the same way except focus on keeping your knees bent. After that you can move to pop shuvs. And after having pop shuvs down you should understand the scoop motion more. You can now use the scoop method(without popping) when doing shuvs without jumping forward and stomping down. In my experience, it helps make them look much cleaner and almost effortless.
I would like to point out a way to gain confidence doing this trick. You try it on a side walk and shove into the grass to get the feel of it. Move the skateboard back every time onto the sidewalk. Great way to build confidence in any shuv trick
started skating again after 20 years (going to the Navy in November & decided to start skaing instead of running) and absolutely appreciate what you do for the sport. got back on a board 8/25/2022 and thanks to you, and luckily some muscle memory, i have gotten back my ollie, shuv-it, pop shuv-it, fronstside 180, fakie frontside 180 in just over a month!!! best channel with the best breakdown of tricks i have ever seen. thanks again Braille Skateboarding!!!!
Super helpful...started skating today after 19 years of complete abstinence. Having to relearn the basics I thought I'd never forget. Going to be on your channel A TON moving forward...definitely suggest subscribing to any mid 30s overweight guys/gals like myself lol
Always very generous in your explanations. Great motivational speaker. And the extra encouraging people to build a friendly skateboard community, sharing the passion and helping each other get better. 👍 I love this channel !!!

Right on! I've always suggested and strongly recommend "BEND YA KNEES". Any time I've been coaching, teaching any physical, athletic etc. You just can't go wrong.
i'm learning how to skateboard at pier 15 (netherlands, breda) and next sunday i have to do a couple of tricks for a diploma and one of them is a (pop) shov-it so i'm really happy with this because i didn't know how to do it. Thanks alot :)
Thinking skateboarding isn’t for me is something I think about all the time. I’m known as a quitter, I quit anything that seems too hard for me. But with skateboarding I wanna make sure not to give up and quit even when some tricks seem impossible 💯💯💯
I've been struggling with the mental aspect of committing to the land for sure. After watching your video, it just clicked that my movement is more of a pop shuv than a shuvit. I can sometimes land it on the grass, but i noticed it requires a lot more effort to get the board to rotate due to friction. Going to make a habit of practicing the shuvit daily on the carpet without trucks, hopefully i can get it soon. Thanks for the tips!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I used to skate board in 2019 but I stopped after a few months. I decided to start skating again and then I wanted to learn the shuvit. After I saw your tutorial it took me about 5 hours to land my first shuvit.
That was the first trick i learned 8 years ago, after some more skating in that year i got a serious knee injury for years , today i received, my new deck and will begin to learn from scratch again :)
I'm 30 an just got two boards from braille. One full set up braille board. And one very sexy Andy Anderson Heron board. It's sooo clean I don't think I'll be using it until I get intermediate with skating. Bought it to support my main dude.
That was so helpful with the deep explanation and slow mo as well as showing it in different angles! I started skateboarding again and this video helped me understand the moves with the feet as well as the positioning and timing a lot better! Thank you!
This was great! I'm struggling so much with shove-it. The problem is you have to press the back foot down to make the board go up. But also the back foot has to go up to be able to land on the board. I just can't manage to press down the back foot and then jump with it at the same time. This is super hard. I always end up with my back foot on the ground.
Another thing is to just practice! That's the most important thing! Watching all the videos in the world isnt gonna make you be able to do the trick, but actually going outside and doing it is the best way to learn it!
Thank you so much for the toutorial before the toutorial it was so frustrating but now I watched the toutorial I still struggled but finally got it it took about an hour after I watched the toutorial. Thank you so much!!
Used to skate when I was 7. I can already ollie, but while practicing the shuvit I fell and dislocated my left patela. Don't worry I'm ok and now returning to skating. As for my left patela I can voluntarily dislocate it.
Trying to learn these rolling I did almost what Aron said to get confidence to land it. I just told my self I was probably gonna slam but it’s not that bad, And when you land it, it’s a little bit rewarding.
Personally i found pop shuvit was better for me when tried to learn shuvits. I always shuved but when i landed on the board I would just shoot out. But when I popped I found it was more safe in a way, because I would pop and I would have way more time to see the whole trick. If that makes any sense at all. Anyway I would like to thank you A-aron and the rest of Braille for teaching me so much important fundamentals in skateboarding tricks.♥️
I really want to skate, being outside makes my mental health a little better. I've always watched skateboarding at my park and it looks so fun and cool- but it's just so expensive :( I'm only 16 so I'm trying to finish school before getting a job yk? I'll come back to your videos when I finally get one :)

So much trouble with my shuvits - always had them in the air without moving when I was 16. This video has showed me exactly what I’m doing wrong (finally! Lol)
This has nothing to do with the video but the last time I skateboarded is in th summer of 2020 because I did the splits while attempting a shuv-it and landing with my front foot first and couldn’t walk for two days
I found it easer to spin the board when the tip of my front foot is outside the board. I also feel that the less amount off time I spend between the moment I bend my knees and the actual shove, the faster the board spin right under my feet.
I got the shove it motion down with my back foot while im off my board, but when I get on my board my foot seems to pop the board and spin the board the opposite way. Any exercises or tips to fix this problem?
I cant consistently push the board enough to fully go around 180° because my shoes dont bend downwards but i’ll keep trying. Closest i got so far was front foot on the board and my back foot toes landed right under the board.
