Very helpful and even-handed. Question for you-I’ve seen several different “ways” of praying the rosary, some to suggest a more comfortable way with those not quite there yet with some of the Marian aspects. Any thoughts on any of these, or a good starting point for the unsure/hesitant?
Good question! As far as I remember, there is a Chaplet of the Holy Ghost which focuses on the sevenfold gifts. I've also heard some who replace the Hail Mary's with the Jesus prayer when contemplating the Sorrowful Mysteries. Might that be of some help?
Fr., I have heard a few Benedictine luminaries say that the original method of “meditatio” during lectio was the memorization of passages of scripture for use in “oratio”. With this in mind, I decided to memorize a scriptural rosary and it added so much to my telling of the beads. It’s a helpful way of mixing Benedictine and Dominican spirituality.
I like the term 'the Gospel on a string'. Good to learn that you are a Benedictine oblate. I am also.
