The Anglo-Catholic church is known for being about as Catholic as you can get without crossing the Tiber. But what does their devotional life look like? Can Anglo-Catholics pray the rosary? Venerate icons? Use incense? To learn more about the role of sacraments and sacramentals in Anglican devotional life, check out this clip.

    About Gospel Simplicity:
Gospel Simplicity began as a UA-cam channel in a Moody Bible Institute dorm. It was born out of the central conviction that the gospel is really good news, and I wanted to share that with as many people as possible. The channel has grown and changed over time, but that central conviction has never changed. Today, we make content around biblical and theological topics, often interacting with people from across the Christian tradition with the hope of seeking greater unity and introducing people to the beautiful simplicity and transformative power of the gospel, the good news about Jesus.
    About the host:
Hey! My name is Austin, and I'm a 24 year old guy who’s passionate about the beautiful simplicity and transformative power of the gospel. I believe that the gospel, the good news about Jesus, is really good news, and I’m out to explore, unpack, and share that good news with as many people as possible. I'm a full blown Bible and Church History nerd that loves getting to dialogue with others about this, learning as much as I can, and then teaching whatever I can. I grew up around Frederick, MD where I eventually ended up working my first job at a church. They made the mistake of letting me try my hand at teaching, and instantly I fell in love. That set me on a path for further education, and I'm currently a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, studying theology. On any given day you can find me with my nose in a book or a guitar in my hands. Want to get to know me more? Follow me and say hi on Instagram at: @austin.suggs

I would love it if you interviewed someone from the Polish National Catholic Church sometime soon! There are many similarities with the continuing anglicans.

Thomas More died a torturous death, but was a big advocate for torturing heretics. If you live by the sword you die by the sword. Just where my thoughts are at when I think of him. Also, his book Utopia is a fun read, but it definitely is a precursor to socialism or communism. With all that said, I believe he was sincere in his beliefs and intelligent.

I love hearing your interviews. You always have really knowledgeable people on who can give some insightful knowledge. It’s cool hearing priests have to share. Love your channel by the way, you’ve inspired me to start buying some of the theology books you had listed on your website and I’ve loved reading them. Thanks a bunch for your faith. 🙏🏻👍🏻

He sounds Catholic to me in the way he talks about the sacraments. I would just be curious to know if he received a valid ordination since the anglicans removed all reference to sacrifice of the mass in ordination for over 100 years and there by broke the apostolic succession. If he isn't validly ordained he seem on the right track. Maybe one day he will be.

See the introduction to the ordinal. It’s always been part of our liturgy.

@@corybyrum8103 Are you referring to the Edwardian Ordination? I think it was under King Edward that all reference to the sacerdotal priesthood was removed. Because the reformation denial of the sacrifice creeped into the Anglican church not as much by King Henry but by Thomas Cramner.

He seems like a good priest. I’d be curious for him to answer about the falling away from scripture his church has done. One way to know whether a church is good or not is by the fruits they bear and his denomination from what I can tell has gone fully secular meaning the secular society has now formed the church when it should be the other way around.

Are you referring to the Episcopal church? He is part of the Anglican continuum, specifically the Anglican province of America, which is a conservative group that broke off in the 70s due to the growth of theological liberalism in mainline Anglicanism (the Episcopal church)
