It's sad think that some of the most brilliant minds of those days - brilliant stars - were unable to speak to a wider audience. That was their tragedy and our greater loss.

Theres only one truth and they don't have it?, devoid of human spirit, sound like they were bought off, but who cares they are left behind?n devoid of the spirit that fights against what these lyrics serpent in real life, yeh your cover is blown and you will pay and now I've changed the meaning of your lyrics 07.05.20 ?. No more time to change.

@Gary Pendleton I loved the punk scene back then, really hardcore stuff like Flux, Crass Poisongirls, Zounds... it was a lifestyle, not a fashion statement, a point missed by many youngsters these days. I have a really steady job now, aged 50, but still fly that black flag and dress accordingly, within old guy limits.still consider myself as a punk. I look out of place at parties in me skinny jeans and eyeliner, but persevere.

saw both groups in 1980,Trinity hall Bristol.was the 1st gig i ever went to.violent it was when a load of skinheads piled through the door wearing open faced crash helmets and started to fight the crowd,Crass jumped off the stage and joined in the fight against them!

Hello Christopher. I saw Crass at Whitham Labour Hall in 1979. I was 14 and pretended that my uncle had let me stay at his house so my mum and dad didn't know what I was up to. ( I cannot think why they did not check) Any way Christopher a gang of skinheads from a demo somewhere elsein Essex decended upon Whitham and the gig and caused mayhem. The problem really was the punks caught outside. The gig had nazis there but the hall was packed with Anarchist punks. I spoke to the band because I had now where to stay but their van was full.I slept under a bridge on the A12 with two punks. it was the coldest night of my life. I will never forget the gig as I had feeding and stations and they weremy best band and words. OK THIS POISON GIRLS SONG IS BETTER THAN ALL CRASS PUT TOGETHER. i saw the Poison Girls several times x

I grew up during this period - buying anything I could on the Crass label. I feel really lucky that my political education began here - opening out those record sleeves to read about feminism, anti nuclear movement, anarchism etc.
I don't have (exactly) the same views now, but pretty much all my political beliefs were borne from this committed group of people.

I liked that video interview with Rotten where he said Crass was a band he didn't know a whole lot about and then had to start complimenting himself and saying the Pistols were the best punk band ever as usual.
