How do you all like these live lesson clips? Want more or less of these?
PS--Sorry about all the sniffing lol my allergies starting to kick in I gotta get some pills!!!!
I like the live lesson clips. Get to watch someone apply your training in real time. Helpful for visualizing what I could do myself. More or the same amount of these videos are fine. Wouldn't do less :D
Love them!
They are great
Watching you work with the average man and imparting knowledge on them.and then seeing them master it is exactly what you are trying to deliver to the audience
Don't forget as the audience we can empathise with your student as we can see ourselves in his shoes
Yeah. I think it’s great to see both sides of a lesson! Great video. Quick question tho. Isn’t that butt of the club look like it’s pointing passed the ball when you are hip high? Or is it just the view.. your other videos you say it should be pointing at the toe line or between the ball.
Definitely more Eric
I love the live lessons. We can see average golfers with their swing flaws and how you go about correcting them in real time. Keep up the great work.
Appreciate it! Glad to hear that!
🤭, this is me. Long swing, across the line at the top, under the line at impact. It’s funny how different feels work for different people. I have more of a left shoulder under my head feel to keep the width in my trail arm. And more of a “down and around” feel for my hands on downswing. Good content, like seeing real people with different swings.
Appreciate it!!
OMG, that early bent right arm in takeaway is totally me! Finally a lesson with a golfer that has a swing closer to mine. I now realize that getting too shallow already at takeaway in my standard bad shot (which is push hook all over. Going in to out ever since I picked up a club, I normally hit 4 fine draws and then every 5th shot is a push if my hips are clearing too fast, or more often a push hook if they're too slow) must start the chain reaction in me struggling to get back on plane in time. Looking back at a couple of recorded swings I even do it on my good hits. Funny enough I never do it with my wedges which now also starts clicking with as a important element on why my short game is way more consistent than the long. I'll try it on the range asap.
Hope this one helps ya---let us know!
Love the live lessons. Eric, one of the things I really appreciate about you is that over the past few months, I've seen you record sessions with some other prominent golf teachers getting their feedback & ideas. You are constantly trying to learn this game & how to be a better coach! I really admire that! Keep it up!
Appreciate those kind words and support, Steve!
Absolutely love the live lessons Eric, great work 👍
Thanks, Peter!
Eric this is an excellent teaching video with this student. I'd like to see more of you working with students like this.
Thanks, Gary!
Just ordered the range finder...thanks for the discount coach! Submitting a long overdue video in the next day or 3...
Love it!!
This was a nice change of pace to your other videos. I like the variety you provide.
Appreciate it!
Great video. Great how easy and relaxed you make practicing look. Format is excellent
Thanks a lot! Appreciate you being here with us!!
Great video. It hit my problems on the button. Got me to turn properly, and keep swing VERY simple, and repeatable. Thanks!
W
:) Thank you!
Keep it up brother, been with u since the get! Love watching the channel grow
Thanks man!! Appreciate the support man!
Great stuff,,,,live lessons are sweet , plus I just was noticing my back swing getting too long and arms breaking down and collapsing at the top ,,great video ! ,thx for all the great content Eric
Appreciate it! Our pleasure!
Live lesson is cool. Love to see students make progress
Awesome--thanks!
Loving the live lessons as they are more realistic to most of us. Of course there are single figure ppl watching your content but let’s be honest most of these videos on YT are aimed at handicap 12 upwards?
This is 100% what I need to do.
Love it, Mark! Thank you!
Shorter backswing lesser error. Thanks again Eric!
For SOME, yes :)
Your normal videos are good but these live lessons take it to the next level because it's more relatable.
Appreciate that feedback! Will keep trying different formats to see what helps most!
I have been doing this for about a week and a half and it has made a tremendous difference in my accuracy and distance. I feel like I’m barely swinging but the difference is night and day.
Love it, Joey!!
Great stuff. I'd love to see part II of this lesson with a driver swing. Would you teach the same principles for the longer clubs?
Thanks, Gregg! Would love that as well! We did driver this lesson as well and he felt the same things!
Great video mate, really struggle with club getting stuck behind. Will give this a try 👍 keep up the good work.
Appreciate it Kristian! Hope it helps!
Keep them coming!
You got it Zach!
Great lesson Eric - club just slightly behind the hands is the golden feeling. For me, just slightly outside on the way back, for width to keep those big muscles turning the club back, and then just slightly inside on the way down coming into the ball. You can get greedy when you are searching for power and do more inside, but having that goto 'smooth' just inside the hands at 2nd parallel position, for that stock iron shot is the perfect practice swing feeling. It's incredible how much this one position fixes everything else.
Yessir!
I think it might be a great idea to look at Tony Finau’s swing. His swing might help cover what you’re trying to convey.
By the way I like the hands and the feet in-line reference. It works, I got it from your piece with Mike Malaska. I’ve always made sure that the hands/butt of the club definitely don’t pass the heels and the club feels weightless before I start the down swing. 👍🏼 Keep it up. I would dare to say that your videos are one of the top 3 or 5 videos in this platform, straight to the point and easy to understand, no unnecessary verbiage for beginners and a refresher for the not so new.
thanks, Jorge!
Whats up Eric??!! Omg this might be a huge huge breakthrough for me. I have a similar swing to this guy and the same issues and I have tried everything to stop that steep at the top. If you just straighten the left arm it totally seems to fix that. Man I can't wait to try. Huge thanks!!
Hey Justin! Hope it serves you well man--our pleasure!
Just hit the range today and decided on my own to make a shorter back swing, and even on the driver I was getting way more accurate, as well as consistent good ball strikes. One thing I noticed to, was that because it felt "shorter", it made me start using my legs even more than I've ever had in the past. So I decided to look up if there's any videos on a shorter back swing, and surprise surprise, your video popped up ! 😂
:) Love it! Hope this one helps!!
That makes two of us. Going to the range tomorrow.
@@mmadchef808 I also hit much better shots with a shorter backswing. Some advice though, we golfers tend to overdo a good thing and may get too short and sometimes too rigid as a result.
Really like the live lessons E! Great student (sorry I didn't catch his name). Thanks for letting Eric post this.
Appreciate ya!!
Great explanation of distance between arms. Never heard it explained. Thanks.
You got it! Hope it helps!

Thanks.
Man this was the lesson I needed played 18 today and I was making solid contacts the whole time
Love it!
Excellant easy to see development with student based on your coaching.
You da man, John!
Best instructor on you tube!
Appreciate it!
I suffer from this affliction also. Thanks for the video Eric. Cheers!
Thanks, James! Hope it helps!
He is a good student and you are a good teacher!
👊
Thank you Chuck!
As someone who plays a 3/4 backswing this is a good lesson. More live lessons, please.
Thanks, Lawrence!
Wow. I come under the plane on my downsize. Can’t wait to try this drill and right arm feel
Hope it serves you well!
Loved watching this progression. Big hook, pull hook and occasional block are my misses. In my head I start trying to shorten the swing to hip high to help. In reality, it’s probably shoulder high swing.
:) Thanks man---hope this helps!
Another excellent lesson! Keep these coming! A suggestion to help us see student's improvement would be to show several swings before you fix the flaws then the final product.
Thanks, Dave!
I have a short swing and I tried changing it because I thought it was wrong but watching this makes me realise I should have stuck to it as I was hitting most balls straight compared to trying a full swing where I barely hit a good shot 👍 cheers
Agreed---short backswing no problem at all.......so long as you hit it far enough!
..this is exactly what I needed to see. Sorta weird in the timing. Thanks Coach!
:)
Looking great brotha! 💪🏼
Appreciate you guys!
I forget which teacher said this but it sure makes sense..said he’s shortened many swings throughout his teaching days and rarely lengthened any at all. Once the left arm reaches its comfortable limit anything further probably makes it harder to get any consistency on the way down. Several players nowadays with short backswings. Rahm, Finau, and as I recall a guy named Dan Pohl led the tour in driving distance and he had one too.
Appreciate you being here with us, Tom!
Love this lesson format. Really makes things clear. When I practiced on the mat in the rec room, I discovered that if I keep my bicep or shoulder right under my chin, I was able to keep my left arm straighter which has always been a problem for me. That feel really seemed to help! Does that make any sense?
Yes
I think live lessons are great. I think if you let us follow a player over the next year that works with you would be good. See how they progress. To many player’s don’t understand how it really takes time to build a swing. Would be fun to see what things you work on first and so on. Thanks for all you share.
Thanks, Mark! Would be fun to share that for sure---maybe something we will do!
I’ve figured this out the other day. I started hitting my 3W and HYbrids more consistently because I decided to shorten my backswing. I applied this to my driver that I’ve been all over the place with and saw an immediate difference. It felt like a much shorter backswing but my shots were still carrying 260+ yds.
Love it Conor! Always good to film your swing to see the FEEL vs REAL
Great video! One suggestion I might make is doing an extended cut where you include slow mo views of your student showing the progress throughout the lesson.
I like it Marcus!
For somebody like me thats a chronic arm bent over swinger this was great to watch. Really like the live lesson vids, but one thing to ask. Will you upload students who have troubles grasping the concepts and changes. That guy there really took to the instruction you passed down not all are going to be that receptive. Thanks a million for the video upload and effort creating this.
Thanks! Perhaps....honestly I do not know what we are going to do. Kind of figuring it out as we go....so maybe....we will see!
0:47 is me! Lol. Good lesson
:)
More live clips! I am having the same issue of bending or breakdown in my arms and my elbows are two far apart through swing. Any drill recommendations to work on grooving that feel of keeping elbows together?
Hey Ronald! A ball or bucket between the arms is always a nice way to START to gain the feels here

This is what I need. My back swing is way too long and causes my downswing to be steep. I also have the club head left at the top. Never thought about that
Hope this helps!
I experimented with this last week. Instead of making a full swing, I used a three quarter swing for all shots and compensated by using the next lower lofted club. I could feel that my swing path was more consistent and not "wobbly". I instantly hit crisper and more accurate shots and all shots went further than they usually do. I scored an 80 almost effortlessly. I even almost made a hole in one on a 187 yard par 3 (ball stopped less than a foot from hole). It was too good to be true, so I'll try it again next week. Maybe it was a fluke and I had a lucky day. And my back and shoulders didn't ache at all which was unusual.
Love it!
These are good for very common swing faults. Still prefer shorter vids more focused on specific body parts and/or swing components. Great work either way
Thanks!
Working on this in my game. I’m trying to only go back as far as my arm will keep from bending. I went from about 240 on driver to stuck the green at 287 the other day with a fade. I’ve even got more than that in the tank because I’ve been 15 yards off in either direction.
Nice work!!
Excellent...
Thanks, Martin!
Hi Eric! At what point in the backswing do you allow the trail elbow to bend?
I always start with it slightly bent and try to keep it close to the body. It will bend naturally.
In reality it gradually is bending from setup to around 90* at the top steadily. A lot of that happening from takeaway to the top.
It bends some from setup to takeaway but since he OVER bent it he needed to FEEL like no bend

For the elbow spacing fault here, would it be good to pinch a small ball in between the elbows (or a Tour Striker if one can afford it 😉)?
Yes!
More on that here:

Brilliant
Thank you, Chris!
Great tip! Looks like Hogan!
Thats never a bad thing :)
Likin' the "ordinary guy" lesson vid. Somewhere in there theres something for most goofers. I get long then get caught. This could help.
:)
I hit straight with the driver when I shorten the backswing. Always slice when I tried to hit longer with longer backswing. I have to feel like half swing.
Good solution!
great vid, I suggest miking up student also :-)
Thanks for the feedback! We have done that in the past and honestly it always seemed to be too much of a distraction. So we likely will not, but I hear ya!
The shorter backswing works for the driver swing too? Driver has longer shaft so I am worried that there will be some kinda jerky move
Absolutely! All clubs👍
@@CogornoGolf OK I'll try it with shorter backswing. Thank you👍
Do you use the 10 finger grip that Moe used ?
I use interlock
Question about the rangefinder mine picks up trees behind the flag all the time and yet I cannot shoot to bunkers worth a crap, will this unit function any better?
Hey! Honestly I cannot say, I have not tested that specifically. I have used it for every round this year and have no issues what so ever!
Shouldn’t take long to test, come on man save me purchasing something that is not much better than what I have.
My “peck high” swing is my full swing bc of poor shoulder / hip mobility 😢
Hey!
Maxing out what YOU are capable of doing is the most important part👊
Thank you for watching the channel!
Lol I did this drill once and I apparently was making a full swing kn my 1/2 swing crazy shit
:)
Appreciate ya watching, Mark!
How much distance is lost, or is this just a drill to get you in the right positions?
I didn’t lose any. But it help with better ball first contact for me
Hey Matt! I do not think the answer is the same for everyone.
Some people shorten their swings and hit it the same distance.
Some people shorten their swings and hit it FARTHER
Some people shorten their swings and hit it shorter.
Often times that LONGER swing happens when the mechanics break down and so you are actually costing yourself not helping.
How is the station setup?
Hey Buck!
Thanks for watching!
I go over how to set this station up in the video below:
ua-cam.com/video/BKrxVvyp0_A/v-deo.html
@@CogornoGolf Thanks Eric!
Can u do that with a driver too??
100%
Grrrrrr8 stuff
Thanks, Justin!
Nobody seems to realize that the moment your shoulder get beneath your chin you’ve completed your backswing 🤦♂️
👊
Appreciate you watching!
Baby steps are the worst thing about golf lessons!
Hey Matt! Sometimes it takes baby steps, other times you can make huge strides in one ball. All depends on the pattern. Some things easy to change quick others you have to retrain some patterns.
