This is gold. After years of the never-ending comments about a ridiculously long backswing I almost gave up on golf. Can relate to all this guys strike problems. This makes sense of all the grief my over swing causes. Many thanks
Man.. this is so me. I need to come see you as I have such a hard time when it comes to making the change that I'm working on when a ball is staring me in the face. thanks for the awesome video instruction. It's very helpful.
I really love this video. My swing is similar to the gentleman in the video. Has been my whole life. Last night on the range I started doing this shorter swing. Can’t believe how far the ball goes. Still gotta keep working on it. Thanks so mych
Started working with a swing coach recently. The head motion and length of backswing were issues which I suffer. Like the drills and explanation, especially of the head moving caused by loss of flexion in left knee and level turn of right shoulder. Good stuff!!
@@CogornoGolf your videos are always easy to understand. Enough in depth but not over complex. Thank you for all the tips! I'd love to see you play a round or two and discuss thoughts on your game.
This is a brilliant video that us amauters can totally relate to, feel v real, when i shortened my swing i thought my waist high backswing was perfect by feel, reality on video was similar to this student, long and slightly out of control, it took quite a lot of practice to change but the results were far more consistency. Oh as an Englishman I'd love to see Tommy win a major this year 😊
he looks about my age. when our bods reach an age and we start hitting shorter, we think we have to swing longer. idk if he has any physical issues that force his left arm collapse. i had a very bad left shoulder that restricted my extension. so, the only way i could get the club up and back was to bend the elbow like he did. same problems and shot patterns. actually, one of your vids several yrs ago helped me with this issue. probably more than one vid hahahhaha good lesson today coach!
I have a lot of the same issues. Shorter guy with slower swing speed, I try to get more distance by overswinging. One downswing thought that's helping me work with a shorter swing (normal) is doing down and resisting the urge to go AT the ball....instead feeling like I'm going down by pushing my hands away (back) a little to go at a spot off of my trail foot....ball just gets in the way.
Great video Eric. The contact has become consistent and better, however, I am losing about 8-10 yards on my shots (more with Driver). Am I supposed to lose that yardage?
Thanks! I would say if you shorten your swing you MAY lose that with driver yes.....but I would expect from the improvement on contact that irons should still be close to the same. Also would be OK to swing longer with driver specifically and only that club if you want some of that distance back and can control
Incredible demonstration Eric thanks. How does that relate to longer clubs such as driver? Should we practice that same feeling when trying to shorten driver swing from John Daleyville?! 🤷🏻♂️🤔 thanks Eric 🙏🏻🏌️♂️✊
A.) He is releasing his hands a bit too early still. (If you look, shortly after contact, both his arms are bent ever-so-slightly.) B.) Most of his head-movement was eliminated by shortening his swing...
Love your videos, Eric. I use them all the time before a range session and recently have had a big step forward with ball striking. Keep up the good work. Maybe one day i can see you for a lesson
I think you could gain 3 swings out of this 1…..2 practice swings hands stay below belt then real swing should be about waist height 1/2 swing 2….2 practice swings hands go waist height then real swing should be about chest height 3/4 swing 3….2 practice swings hands go chest height then real swing should be about shoulder height full swing
This has been a problem for me forever. When Eric says exaggerate, he means ludicrously exaggerate! This has been so helpful.
Haha yeah I like that one Chris!! HUGGGGGGE exaggeration in the beginning!
Its really helpful to see the in person coaching. You made a huge difference in just a few minutes, and I can relate to his swing faults.
Appreciate it! I like these as well!!
Excellent! More of these lessons please Eric!
Appreciate it Rohit!

Thank you! Hope it serves him well!!
Wow. Would love to work on this in person. Explains lots of my issues
Hope this helps ya Steven!
Great video. Have you ever used True Turn Pro golf aid? Seems like a great aid to teach shoulder turn tilts.
Hey Michael! Yes I have I like it! I think you can mimic a lot of that with a club

Wow….beautiful swing the gentleman has when he shortens. He can play in 70’s with that.
Agreed!

Thank you! Def same FEELs if you have same ISSUES with driver (too long)
John Rahm appears to have a very short back swing..but boy it works 😊
Yes it does :)
Always had this problem 😢

For sure! I've learned in my coaching you often can't fix everything at once....but you CAN fix the FIRST and most IMPORTANT thing first
Dude has a lot of potential that he doesn’t realize.
