I really needed to watch this. Thank you. Since the change from world rules to international rules here in the UK, the tactical side has just gone out the window for 99% of players including myself. Everyone is just trying to clear up regardless of how crazy the finish is. (That's the problem with watching Ultimate Pool). I love the simple example at the 7-minute mark (red over the bag and black on the top cushion). The percentage play is to roll onto that red rather than try and get back down for the black.
Michael ... Mate awesome video again. I got a lot out of it but for me, the most useful one was number 4 ... as most newbies to the game (I started late 51 lol) I suffer from tunnel vision. Once you pot 2 or 3 in a row, you don't stand back and have a look at the big picture. I would have potted the red, tried to run the ball up the table and stuff the 8 ball and lose the frame, and ask myself why. I'm really enjoying your style of videos as they are easy to comprehend ... food for thought maybe you could do one on the importance of your stance when breaking. Michael keep up the great work you are rocking it mate Cheers Brenden
@@MichaelScerri147 ... Awesome video Michael, I loved the training drill with just the single ball, Now like all things practice is the key cheers Michael
These are great videos. Thank you! Have you ever played 8 ball on an American 7' table (bar table)? The larger pockets seem to limit tactical play. I have watched videos of good American players trying to play "squeeze" style 8 ball and it really doesn't seem to work that effectively. They'd do better to just break wide open and run out, in my opinion.
Nice one..what do you think of the global time limit to the game.?...the per shot time limit is ok but I think the global time limit ruins the possibility of a losing player epic comeback...i see players 3 games ahead milking the time and stalling on every shot..be good to see a vid on the subject
Yeah I know it can suck having that time limit especially being a player, but I think these days it’s better to have a timer with an ending because it creates more drama for tv. It just means every frame is now more valuable.
@@Matt-sp9or Yea..it doesnt need it and just turns a tense comeback into a clown show running around the table..mabey have timed games for the short attention span people as well as proper games without the global time limit....the players should speak out..with the ludicrous entry fee,s there is no monitary reason for the time limit
Thanks, the tip about baiting opponent on the worst colours is a good shout. Will start doing this.
Cheers mate and thanks for watching 👌🏼

Good question.....totally agree the match clock ruins the game. I know Mick Hill doesn't like it either.

And they say there’s no tactics in IR rules 🤦🏼♂️.. prime examples how you learn ways.. nice Micka 👍🏼

I'm one of those fishies. Shall try dangling a carrot every so often.
