Stop shot is possible on last object ball using spin to counter deflection but high or low is way easier, another good tip is try to limit cue ball movement to make more predictable leaves like half the racks I’ve ran had ~3 stop shots, well done video the random cut was kinda weird I’d move your mic farther away and put a compressor on the audio
I’ll take your advice on the mice placement, it was hard trying to get it to sound decent cuz it was too close to my mouth and touching my shirt.
I enjoy watching your videos. I learned a lot I look forward to watching more videos. I am a league 6 and I often come up short,I run seven ball and often come short. My 4:50 pattern plays are not the best. Thank you for sharing your videos I appreciate it. Also when I practice I do well when I practice when it comes to actual tournament play I often come short I am trying to bring my practice gameplay to my tournaments so that my nervousness don’t get the best of me if there is anything that you can recommend for pressure play Please let me know. So frustrating, I have this habit of breaking, running the table until I get down to 1 or 2 balls left, or even just the 8 ball, and then losing. I hit in the 8 ball early, scratch on the 8 ball, or my opponent just cleans up, after I oh so helpfully got all my balls out of the way for them

Nice pattern - I missed the opening shot playing solid into stripe. On 10 ball I wouldn’t stun though - I would just hit the 10 fat with rolling cue ball and let the cue ball hit the long rail before contacting the 3 to break out the 9.
I can see that working to give you better shape after the break. There was one instance that I went through this and got snookered behind the 3. You just risk glancing it and not getting enough energy into the 9 by going rail first.

Nice video and good run out. I would have played the 15 into the right side pocket (as you considered but decided against). Also, I would be interested to see what you would have done had you been playing under APA rules and were required to play solids. This becomes a MUCH different game in that case.

What’s I say to most players regarding 8 ball is that when it comes to shot choice, use your strengths. 8 ball is a game that has enough flexibility that there isn’t always an “optimal” out. There’s likely more than one- and it’s your job to decipher what pattern and individual shot choice is most synergistic with your play style and percentages. I like to stun balls with more shallow angles when I play on a barbox, but move the cueball a lot more on a 9 ft. The conditions in combination with how I’m feeling dictate a lot of how I play 8 ball.
Tangentially, 8 ball on a barbox with this layout would be pretty tough with some of those positions. You may need to break out balls differently or alter some things. But that doesn’t change those tips.
Generally speaking if you’re a decent shotmaker, I think 8 ball is a better game on a barbox, and with the right conditions it becomes less interesting and more boring on a big table.
Could be a tip problem if the tip isn’t well rounded. Might be. Stroke problem if you end up hitting lower than you are aiming. Use the slow motion camera feature on your or a friends phone and watch where you actually hit the cue ball on your final stroke.

Great video. I like it when people show they are human and make errors Would like know what happened on your 9 before the edit?
I talked about how I should shoot it for 3 mins. It was pretty boring and added little value so I cut it out.
More or less the same pattern but with one difference : I don't want to plan my whole pattern too early because I can't take for sure the position of the 9 after the split of the 9-3. So I would have add that the 9-ball was the real keyshot of the runout.

The first shot that you took the combo using the solid to the stripe is it legal on the different rules of bca or apa or the regular straight no ball in hand 8 ball game
WPA legal, pretty sure BCA and BCAPL illegal. In APA it is legal ONLY on an open table where both solids and stripes have been made on the break. The "regular" rules you mention sound like bar rules and there is no such thing as constant bar rules across all locations. 9 times out of 10 however, in bar rules that take scratches behind the line, a solid to stripe combo (or the opposite) on an open table would also be illegal.
I am using WPA rules for this video. Maybe should have clarified that at the start of the video.
This is why I don't like 8 ball. It's a good game, but every time you play, you have to learn a set of rules all over again.
How would you have gotten out if it was take what you make?
Here's mine:
1st step: scream into the void because this is a TERRIBLE table for solids.
2. Compose myself and splash some ice water on my face
3. Take the 6 in the side with top. You're trying to break out the 3-9 cluster with a very damn precise 1/4 ball hit on the left side of the 3. What you're trying to get are both balls off the rail with a shot on the 1 next, and the 3 somewhere between one half and one diamond from the rail it was just on.
4. Off of your 1 ball shot, you want to turn around and take the 3 into the pocket behind the 11-4 cluster, following with the cue into that cluster and hopefully making the 11.
5. At this point it's basically in the hand of the pool gods. Maybe you've hit the 4 soft and along the rail and have a more or less straight shot on the 4, parallel with the rail but with just enough angle to stun off the 4 or kick off the rail to get to the other long rail and take the 2 in the same corner
-maybe you've hit the 4 at 3/4 ball, gently banked the 4 as well as the cue away from the rail, giving yourself a draw or a stun into the 2 itself, or into the same position as above
6. Draw off the 2 and off two rails to get the 8 in the same pocket
or, what happens in real life most of the time
1. Try the 3-9 breakout off the six and fail
2. Use your next shots to carom into the 10 and/or the 13 to eliminate them as positional balls for your opponent and play a safety/ 2-way shot battle the rest of the game.
It would be risky to go for the run, but since that is what the question is, I would try to do this.
Shoot the 1 ball with a slight draw bouncing long rail to long rail back towards the 9 and 3. Hopefully you hit the 9 ball and come down and leave a good angle on the 6.
The tangent line from the 6 into the side is lined up pretty well with the 4 and 11. With the angle you have, shoot a tangent line stun shot to break out the 4 and 11.
Hopefully you have a shot on the 3 and can draw or follow to get down on the 2.
Assuming you get on the 2, position on the 8 is automatic.

You hit the 3 ball too full off the10 and left the cue ball too close to the rail. If you got closer to the 14 the nine would have been easier. keep practicing you will improve. Best wishes.
Have you ever try to play in the tournaments since you have so many good ideas and technique instead of vlogging and play in the real world
Wow , you have a really slow table . Majority of those shots you could not do at a tournament because their tables are a lot faster . Even my table is going to roll way more than yours does , be happy you have a slow table .

Some leagues are open after the break. I really dislike the take it, make it rule. It punishes a good break because you were unlucky in which ball you made.

@@Krushard I think he makes a good point. I believe he's referring to the APA league as that's what I joined recently and that's the rule. Now you're right about how it's an American thing as that's what the APA is, but it's still something we (APA players) ought to keep in mind when watching these videos
Apa league sucks join acs or another league. Apa is made to handicap the better players and make it more noob friendly. If you are not that great sure play apa. But if your a solid good player most the time if your in the apa league it's cause it's the only league in the area.
When making videos such as this, it's best to use official rules and not worry about silly bar rules.

Under WPA rules, the table is open after the break. It doesn't matter what was made on the break.
