Usually when it comes to situations like this, I usually fall into the camp of "This is morally questionable and down right degenerate, but I really could care less as long as no one is being harmed/exploited". That being said, Vaush still isn't off the hook in my eyes because he:
A. Is a hypocrite by his own words based off comments regarding this material.
B. Is trying to down play this as if he thought it had something to do with goblins, which only the dumbest of fanboys will beleive.
C. Has made various questionable comments regarding the age of consent. Regardless of of the context, I question why you would type/say that stuff in the first place.
TL;DR, Vaush is still a creep and this situation only further cements my negative view of him.
Yeah as much as I loathe to say it, Jayln actually made a good point. If people actually thought what Vaush had was as bad as actual CP like they claim, then they wouldn’t be okay with actively posting it on X and putting it in their videos and streams. The loli = CP argument simply isn’t a hill worth dying on though. However, Vaush should absolutely be brought up on his response given that he’s opposed loli content in the past on the principles that people are now using against him (which if you know of him isn’t surprising, he’s said in the past that his only principle is to win, hence the immediate backpedal when he’s found doing something he’s claimed to oppose), and the fact that he blatantly lied about the content showing that he felt the need to justify it as somehow not loli when it undeniably is. I didn’t have a positive view of Vaush to begin with, so for me this is very much a “chickens coming home to roost” thing for me, it’s not going to drive him off the internet but I think it will cripple his potential growth as a large portion of the internet who didn’t know of him before will now forever know him as the “loli horse guy”.

First of all, that's a bad metric of which to judge by, there's a reason why we actually have courts of law rather than judging solely by the court of public opinion. After all the same people who claim it's literally CP are also platforming it for others to see, there's a fundamental disconnect there. You may think that it conclusively reaches the definition of drawn CP, but that doesn't change the fact that sites hosted in America will host such content, people in America can produce such content and are not arrested for it, and people in America can freely view such content. Furthermore if we go into what you posit as the clear cut definition, we find that many things we don't even consider pornography to begin with are capable of reaching these definitions are actually relatively commonplace in media. Videogames causing violence really is a solid comparison here. Cartoons in themselves don't necessarily normalize action in reality, but as much as it can, it also can be used to vent and explore dangerous desires in safe ways. Most notably, Studies have showed that violent video games can reduce violent tendencies in those that already had one.(Even if it doesn't always do so)
Similarly, Pedos are going to exist regardless of if they have a healthy vents for their desires. The question is, would you rather them do so with the fake kids, or the real ones? Because it sounds like the only other options is to force them to bottle it up until they eventually boil over, or to eliminate them entirely. Both of which are...optimistic at best.
We can tolerate the existence of cartoon pornography without normalizing it in reality. It's just a matter of deciding when that line is crossed.
