Bank Holiday as a Bus Driver

- Hello It's Your Friendly Neighbourhood Bus Driver, It's #bankholiday Weekend time and I wanted to bring you along for the #weekend down at #Blackburn bus company were working a number of different routes over the weekend.
We start our working #weekend on #may4thbewithyou in Blackburn on 7a service from #accrington to #blackburn bus station then were off to #preston on 152 service.
Sunday we start with couple technical issues resulting us being late on service not once but twice, had some really bad luck that day but overall we stay focused and calm and bring the service back on time.
#bankholiday Monday we start on 152 to #burnley bus station from cherrytree, we asked for #bus #100 but were given a hotline bus that smelt really bad and need cleaning before setting off.
Overall I had a wonderful time working for Blackburn Bus Company over the Bank holiday weekend and meet some lovely people from the community and also meet some lovely customer who were enjoy themselves

This vid just popped up on my recommended. I was a driver at Rosso in Haslingden and subsequently Queensgate post Transdev buy-out. I work in haulage now and hate it 😂 Seeing this reminded me of pretty much the only job I actually liked ... apart from doing them god-awful 464s😂 I'd happily return (for a 3rd time) if I didn't have to jump through 'Rosso hoops' to get onto an actual Transdev contract.
Well I understand that the haulage industry isn't great and the working conditions are 3rd world. I must admit since the pay rise to £15 which is 30p less than Blackburn staff the 464 seem okay and if you're out of Burnley you'll only get 481/483 and local routes as Rosso and all staff seem Happy.
Different worlds but same job. Makes me laugh when you say you have had a busy day and that you have took about 150, you can do that on one trip in The Lake District haha. Oh and you say Cash Out at the end of the day as we say we are Cashing In. Nice vid as always 👍🏻
Yea, it's surprising how different it can be, we do take more card payment than we use too. When I use to work a weekend shift before the cap it was like £300 a day in cash but since the cap it's come down a little
@@anthonyleecooke yeah that’s true. At least the buses are more full with this £2 cap. Keeps us busy 👍🏻
How many hours per week do you work on average as a bus driver at this company?
@@richardnicholson3912 I'm currently doing 36/38 a week due to family circumstances most drivers are contracted to 39 hours and some do that and some do more. Just depends on what you want to do. I don't think anyone is pushed to do more than they wish Todo

How many hours a week on average do you work overtime included working for this company as a driver?
36/39 hours. Plenty of overtime but I don't do much now since my son was born
@@anthonyleecooke thanks. Is it reasonable to expect to be able to do 50 per week if you want it? And are your days off all over the place or do you get 2 days off together?
@@richardnicholson3912 well depends on the roster line. I'm a fixed driver but other drivers say four day will work a set of hours then move down the line. For example Carly worked nine days in a row but has had 6 days off were she's chosen to have them all off and some times you get short weeks etc.
@@richardnicholson3912 it's designed to make sure everyone gets time off etc and work a mixture of early and lates and weekend

What are the Gemini 2s like to drive? I quite like them as a passenger.
Kinda enjoy them, depending on which one you get. Would have them on 464 any dayv
Drove them at Preston. They're an utter delight to drive. Comfortable and responsive
@@CaersethVarax the 1st bus I ever drove in service was Gemini and it shocked me how easy they are to drive.
Are U Still A Bus Driver On The 464 Transdev Bus
Yes I still drive the 464 for Rosso

Do u do the 4 duty at all at times, as i live on the 4 route on Brothers Street, im a bus enthusiast myself, do u know when the ex Rosso Streetlites are ready for the 4 and 2 and 22 services bud
Hi, yea I do cover the four duties sometimes not done one for a while. Handful of the streetlight have been painted up but no word on when they will be introduced into the fleet yet.

Yes, I was on my way back to Blackburn bus station when it happened

Are you driving the 2 anytime soon and I saw the streetlights do you know when they are coming out and also get well soon to your mother in law
Still not had the opportunity to do a 2 yet and I'm itching to get on them.
The streetlight are painted but the inside haven't had any decals or anything applied to them. There is nothing internally mentioned about a launch date.
