Thanks for the content, reviews and tips. Thinking of buying the garmin 5 vivid mainly for creating contour maps in small lakes.
Went and checked out the 5 and 7 in a store and the display quality is the same as my 9. The only advantage to the nine is the actually screen size is bigger. The vivid 5 looked just as clear in simulator mode as my nine inch.

I recently purchased the exact same Garmin 9 vivid sv with transducer. Does this unit have a Flasher feature to use for ice fishing? The home icons dont show a flasher. I know it has the A scope, but is there a way to use a normal round flasher?

If you are on the home page you should be able to go
Customize --> add --> Flasher
That should get your flasher option to show up on your homepage!

Hey does it come preloaded with maps? or do you always have to create your own maps??
This one does not come pre loaded with any maps. The Echomap series is what will have that.
I was wondering, can you make casting rings around each waypoint? I can't find this info anywhere, thanks.

When you are done just simply hit stop revcording.

Hello. I see your videos that are very good I have a new Garmin Striker 9SV Clear vu and it is applied to the electric motor and makes a lot of interference on the display do you think it is normal or do I have the wrong applications?

I could see it possible making some interference. If you adjust your gain it could help but also make sure you are using the appropriate mount.
When you made the map did you save it with a name so you can pull it up when going back? I fish maybe a 6 mile area in a boat and made the mistake of not getting the Echo. Trying to make this 7sv work though. Also, any idea if I bought the 7sv Echo can I use the same transducer cable? Kinda plug and play?
I did not save the map with a name the map autosaved and automatically pulls up when I am back at that location. I do know that the transducer plug for the Vivid will not plug into the echomap. They are very different plugs, and I do not think that there is an adapter.

Can you show what it looks like on the clear view, Simar and side imaging when you go over very shallow cover? I’ve been kayak fishing fir two years and I’m looking to buy the vivid 5cv garmin because I fish a lot of small back water places rather than bigger lakes. I’d like to know what I’m getting into thanks!!

No prebuilt contour maps unless you are able to find some on the QuickDraw community and then download them. Echomap series is the way to get all the maps.
did you have to download the quikdraw contour starter pack from garmin express before your able to do that? I have the garmin uhd echomap 93sv
I did not have to download anything before doing this.
Good video. I'm looking to buy the 7sv and wondering how good the sidevu is and if it is as clear as the lowrance.
I unfortunately have no experience with the lowrance units so I do not know how they compare. The side vu is pretty good in this unit but it is not as good as the Garmin Echomap UHD units.
I swapped from lowrance and garmin is 10x better. My lowrance wouldn't pick up 1/2 of what my garmin does. The garmin is also a lot easier to see. The brightness on my lowrance, even turned all the way up, was hard to see in the sun.

I am using a little 4S Lipo battery that is 3200mah.
