Hey Katie! It's so good to see you!! I am slowly returning to YT!! Thanks so much for making your spreadsheet available for us!! I would like to use this set up to budget for my upcoming months!!
Listening to you talk about your husband's hobbies is like listening to someone describe my relationship with my hobbies. lol He sounds like a really fun guy to hang out with.
October is looking good Katie! Excited to see how you all do. I really want to focus on cutting out eating out this month. That usually means more in groceries but I gonna see how far we can stretch it!
Hey, Katie!❤ Your budget for October looks awesome. I did mine as well and it seems that will be a good month without any high expenses. I hope it stays that way 😅
Great plan for October Katie! I was thinking to myself October would be perfect to do a pantry challenge. Then you announced it. I’m doing one as well.
Awesome budget katie! I love how much you are putting towards debt. I think by the end of Oct, you'll have 4k or more going to it! That's my prediction lol! I hope you're having an awesome day! ❤❤❤
October looking good for the family! Congrats. We were just talking ourselves we think this month is going to be great as well for lower October expenses. We are going to start buying Christmas gifts early since we have a bunch of room in the budget.
Good morning Katie. It is crazy we are at Q4. Seriously😀 My ex and I had that wonderful gift every year of no SSI being deducted. I also would always put that money to good use. Great thought into the budget.
Thank you, Dee! I cannot believe Q4 is already upon us! I’m thankful we get a few months without that SS deduction, and hopefully we can put it to good use 😄
Great 🎉plan Katie ! Even if no other monies come available for debt your budgeting is sooo good 👍 and nope once vacay is over we will sit down and budget ! I think we are in your neck of the woods ? We are at Hilton head ? Hoping no one is in the storms path ! Be safe southerners ! Glenda
I've been watching you for a while, and your progress is inspiring! If you are comfortable sharing, what industry does your husband work in? That income is an essential tool to your payoff!
Thank you so much! I agree that his income is the biggest help in our debt payoff. He works as an anesthesia PA, and he started picking up more call work since the end of 2023, which has given him more income. We’ve been trying our best to throw it at debt so that he can work a little less once it’s paid off ☺️
I really love the pie chart. My savings rate is going to peak at 50% and start going down for this last quarter, due to rental property expenses. I will try again in 2025. 😊
Great job! We tend to front-load our extra savings - spending virtually nothing in January, for example - because we enjoy the fall and early winter seasons and do most of our traveling then. We're heading to Disney World in November, already have $9,000 earmarked for three of us, but could easily see spending over that.
Oh yay! I hope you guys have a great time. Disney is so expensive! Are you guys staying in the parks? That seems to be more expensive, but it is convenient.
@@KatieoftheHouse Yes! We're staying at the Royal Guest rooms at Port Orleans. We used to do more budget-friendly trips where we stayed off campus, but now that we can afford more I'm looking forward to not driving anywhere during the week. It's for my wife's 40th birthday and we invited her best friend along and are picking up her room + flight + food + tickets, so that lends to the high price tag.
There are others who use specific streaming services for specific sports, shows, or seasons in the year then cancel them for multiple months during the year. Its becoming increasingly common.
Something many folks fail to consider when looking at ways to reduce energy costs is the flange or weather stripping at the bottom of a garage door on an attached garage. For many, this is a more involved diy and even purchasing decision. DIY materials and automotive parts are catching up with groceries in terms of inflation but it used to be you could diy for $100 to $200 and depending upon how bad the old was, recoup your investment within a couple of months. This maintenance repair is often listed as a thing to protect against winter's cold, as a gasket against water and damp seeping in, and as a wind mitigater. However, a leaky garage door bottom can sap a lot of cooled a/c air and/or heat up a garage creating an oven attached right to the house.
Is the Highlander loan a fixed loan or some type of a variable loan? In other words, if and as the principle is paid down does the mandatory minimum payment come down as well?
I think extra payments shorten the term but don't affect the amount due each month. You have to recast the loan to get a lower monthly payment after paying principle.
Have you watched Frugal Fit Mom on UA-cam? She has some really good Videos about saving money on Groceries. She has 3 teenage boys and feeds them healthy food for 400.00 a month. I think if you used some of her tips you could save alot of Money on your Groceries. Also seems you have alot of subscriptions. She also talks alot about rotating your subscriptions. Just looking at those 2 items in your budget could save alot of money and you could put that money toward your debt. Just an observation!!
As I am sit on the beach listening to you video with you discussing emergency fund, I have a small comment. Your investments are actually an emergency fund fund for when the normal emergency fund fund is too small to cover the actual emergcy. For example he could take out a 403b loan. Not suggesting you don’t have an ef, you could keep it smaller while going the accelerated debt payoff. That’s. All for now. Tired of fighting with an iPad
So true! Let’s hope I don’t ever have to do that, but it could be an option in a big emergency! It’s so cold and rainy here, so I hope you are enjoying the beach 🤩

As big lawsuits go, there won't be a short time resolution but the potential impact is huge and includes the 2.5%, sliding to 5%, transaction charge that many businesses are charged on debit card usage; plus more and on top of the credit card transaction charges which historically were a higher percentage than on debit cards ua-cam.com/video/RA7Nmj0Lckk/v-deo.htmlsi=JRUlilyzHug0hnrW

Thank you!
Listening to you talk about your husband's hobbies is like listening to someone describe my relationship with my hobbies. lol He sounds like a really fun guy to hang out with.
He is fun! He’s nerdy, but in the best way 😊
Extra income definitely helps! But I understand why you don’t count it until it’s actually earned because nothing is guaranteed
Oh yeah, it’s always nice when it comes in ☺️
Good afternoon. Thank you for showing how to breakdown everything. Hope you have a great day
Thank you, Eva! Enjoy the rest of your weekend ☺️

Having rental properties is awesome though. I know you’ll get it back up to 50%
It’s going to be a great quarter!!
Yes! I sure hope so 😄🙌🏼
Hello Katie! Nice budgeting! I’m sure
October will be an exciting month. Stay safe in Ga with the tropical storm.🌻💜🌷
Thank you, Imani! It wasn’t too bad here last night. It rained a lot, but that’s all. I hope you guys stayed safe, too 💜💜💜

You can do it! My tip: of you're staying near the park, go back to the hotel for picnic lunch in room and nap. Saves $$ and keeps the trip fun
Oh yay! I hope you guys have a great time. Disney is so expensive! Are you guys staying in the parks? That seems to be more expensive, but it is convenient.

You can have the extra go to the principle or the next payment, but I have it go to the principle so that the payment stays the same.
I think extra payments shorten the term but don't affect the amount due each month. You have to recast the loan to get a lower monthly payment after paying principle.
