Your video's and walk thru explanation are awesome . Thank you
Thank you for your repair videos. After watching your videos, I have learned how to repair and maintain my 25 year-old gas-powered Club Car. My cart is completely stock and I plan to keep it that way.
The radio clock on my cart can slowly drain the battery, so I added a disconnect switch that I place in the off position when not using the cart. The switch is next to the negative battery post and easy to reach, after lifting the seat.
I'm glad my videos have helped!
I know if I need my cart worked on, I will be calling. You are right around the corner from me.
So glad I found your UA-cam page! This is exactly what is going on with my stock G16. Can't wait to fix this myself and save a ton of $$$$$. Thank Kevin!
Can't tell ya kevin, how much I've learn from your information videos. Thank u
Everybody loves Kevin's videos
LOL "why does my foot hurt" perfect example.
Very nice job, Kevin
Forgot to put on the Overflow hose and why don't you blow some stuff into the carburetor while you're at it instead of covering it
Thanks!
I bet the hose on the adjustment screw was there to adjust with the air box on.
Love your videos, have you ever done a Yamaha g-16 driveshaft bearing change ? Keep up the great work .
Great video👍👍👌.
Thank you 👍
good video kevin turn up that Governor and let rip LOL. O by the way my 98 ezgo gas 295cc spits and sputters have to put it into reverse then go forward then it will fire up any ideas? is there a rebuild shop that you recommend. im looking to have it done this winter
Hey kevin love your videos. I go directly to your sight if i need to figure something out. Wuick questio. Whats a decent battery for a 2000 gas club car ds. I live in long island ny. Ty
1999 MODEL G16A FOR 5 MOS NOW WHEN I TRY TO DRIVE IT I STEP ON GAS PEDAL AND MOVES VERY SLOWLY USUALLY THE ENGINE FIRES UP AND AWAY I GO I HAD MY SPARK PLUGGED REPLACED 5 MOS AGO ALONG WITH AIRFILTER DO YOU THINK GAS COULD BE BAD? I AM GOING TO CHARGE BATTERY OVERNIGHT TO SEE WHAT THAT DOES FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS FLOODED THEN I LET SIT OVERNIGHT AND TRIED AGAIN SAME STORY ANY IDEAS I HAVE VID IF THAT HELPSTHANK YOU
My g16 likes to stay running after I let off the gas. Just enough that it continues to turn over but not go anywhere. What could it be?
Hey Kevin! Love your content. I have a 1998 Yamaha G16A and this video has helped me out a bunch. But I didn’t see, or I just flat out missed it, what connects to the vacuum port at top rear of the carburetor? I’m trying to figure out where is should go.
It is bent downward.
Ok, mystery solved, it an overflow drain judging from one of your other videos. But mine also has a clear hose as a drain line from the bottom of the carburetor. Confused
One is for an overflow, the other is to drain the bowl. I usually leave the one off the bottom of the bowl since I never use the drain.
Hello Mr. Kevin! I have a 1999 G16A. Put new set of belts on. I discovered that the starter/generator belt HAS to be tight in order for the starter function to spin the engine over. I am having issues with starting as the solenoid clicks and sometimes the starter spins over - or - the motor will just spin and not turn the engine over - or - everything works fine. The solenoid will always clicks which tells me the solenoid is good but the belt issue??? Should I use belt dressing? The belt is new and really tight. Your thoughts?
You shouldn't need belt dressing at all. its very unusual for the starter/generator to spin and not rotate the primary clutch. Is the starter/generator slipping on the belt or is it spinning the clutch as well, but not the engine? If the engine is not cranking, the the clutch is slipping on the crankshaft. If the belt is slipping, it may not be the correct belt. Yamaha engines don't need a lot of force to rotate them. They rotate fairly easily.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts I will look a little closer to see who is slipping and who is not. Thank you for your time.
Seems like you have a bad ground, or the generator/starter is a cheap crap Amazon
Where do you buy your fuel filters. And gaskets
Thank you
I'm a dealer for Red Hawk, so I order most of my parts from them.
Are fuel pumps cart specific, or will any universal fuel pump work? I have a Yamaha G14
Generally, they are only specific to the way the fuel lines are run and the way they are mounted in the cart. They are simple vacuum pulse pumps.
Quick question. Club car Golf cart has no.spark. I know it might be the coil is there anything else it might be. It turns over fine.
Thank you
What year and model? Precedents and onwards are setup different from DS.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts sorry it's a club car. AG9735-601O52 I think that means it a 1997 also sent you another tip.
Thank you again
You will need an multimeter set to ohms to test. On the DS carts, there are 4 switches that must work for the engine to run, 3 micro switches and the key switch. Its rare for the key switch to fail, but check it anyway to be sure. On the key switch, measure the white and black wires to make sure they not shorted when the key is ON. If they are shorted, you can disconnect the white wire and check for spark. There are 2 switches on the shifter, one is only for the reverse alarm and its not important to make the cart run. The other is the "service" or gear position switch. When in normal mode, this switch must close when in F or R. When in service mode, it must close when in Neutral. Disconnect the black wire and measure from that terminal and other 2 terminals. When the switch is closed, it should have continuity between the black and green wires and when its open, continuity between black and white. Repeat this test for the switch inside the control box. There are 2 switches in the control box next to the air box. This control box houses the solenoid, accelerator cam, fuse block, voltage regulator and micro switches. One switch controls the solenoid and the other closes to ground when the accelerator pedal is released shorting the ignition coil to ground. It has the white with black stripe wire and black ground wire attached. If the switch is not working and shorting to ground no matter the position of the switch lever, the ignition coil will not fire. If this switch is functioning, then the rev limiter may be at fault. This component is located on the lower front portion of the engine, below the cylinder. Its a small black box with black and brown wires coming from it. You can bypass the rev limiter by removing the brown wire from ground. If spark returns, you can replace the rev limiter or leave it bypassed. If not, then the ignition coil is dead. It sounds like a lot to test, but its really easy to check these parts.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts thank you very much
You're very welcome!!
hello Kevin, Ive got a 2000 Yamaha G16A Currently have a no spark condition. Cart had sat for a while i can jump the start solenoid and get the starter generator to turn the motor over but no spark. Is the stop/start switch on the pedal integrated in the ignition system? Or should i look toward coil? Have a few parts on order for the cart. Just curios what direction i should go on it.
I had this issue, it was my connector that runs below the motor to the ground and ignition coil
Or I had the same problem and it was the start stop relay it’s by your solenoid
Kevin, love the vids but is everything on Red Hawk OEM?
Some items are OEM, but most of it is aftermarket and house brand. You can't buy direct from Red Hawk unless you are a golf cart dealer. There are a lot of places online that sell their parts. I don't sell online anymore.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts do you happen to know a good one?
If you are in the states, everythingcarts or buggiesunlimited are good. I've dealt with both in the past with no issues.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts ok I was looking at that
Hi so i put a brand new oem carb on my G22 rain good for a week now it looks like the carb is leaking from the bowl any suggestions
Tighten the nut on the bottom of the bowl. If that doesn't work, then the oring may be damaged or not installed correctly.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts i found out what was wrong rubber seal gasket on bowl was not installed right thanks for the help
How can you blow the motor. Don't these things have a rev limiter that'll kick in?
Club Car has a dedicated rev limiter. Yamaha doesn't use one that I'm aware of. These engines do not have internal governors.
My gas club golf cart drives a little then dies
Loose the music
Nah.
It was an intro. Opinions are less than smart sometimes
