The key to jumping is applying the most force to the ground in the shortest time possible. 90 degrees is too far bent - maximum output is closer to 60 degrees, and is different based on your physiology (e.g. position of muscular insertion points and limb-lever length). That allows for the loading from the penultimate step (basically pre-tightening the quad, calf, and ankle flexor muscles) to be an additive to the power exerted at maximum output. The timing of the arm swing is equally important, as the downswing MUST coincide with peak loading, and the leg explosion should take when the momentum shift of the arm swing is at neutral or net upwards. That is when the arms are pointed directly perpendicular to your desired direction of motion, which usually puts them pointing outwards and away from the front of your body. You want your arms to reach their peak at the same moment you are applying maximum force to the ground. This little bit of timing specificity has a compounding effect on the end result.
The remaining point of focus is the amount of time you are applying that power to the ground. The faster you can get from peak load to airborne, the higher you will ultimately jump. In the video, he says "the lower you are, the more time you can spend applying force into the ground" - that is the exact opposite of what you want. You want to spend as little time as possible applying as much force as you can to the ground and translate all of that downward force into upward acceleration. It's less about "getting low" and more about knowing at what angle your legs achieve maximum force output and then concentrate on pushing away from the ground as FAST as possible. That means speeding up your arm swing. It means getting your legs from a bent position to a straight one as quickly as possible. If you bend your legs further than your optimal output angle, your load phase dissipates before your legs reach maximal power output, and the stored load is wasted on moving your body up through a sub-optimal position to reach peak power. Focus on speeding everything up and you'll automatically jump higher. Then perfect the timing. Lastly, work on your strength. Combine those three and you'll maximize your jumping ability. The only limitation is your physiology.

I think that is just to get the flow of your core contraction and the muscle memory going of what it feels like just to jump like that. Then when you have the ball every muscle besides your circle arms will activate because you already did the original arm swing and activated them so many times before that.
